The house
Lovely large gite, with huge living room with a glass facade and a wood-burning stove. There is a library with books, in Dutch, French and English, and a piano.
Three cool bedrooms, one on the level of the living room, and two in the basement, also accessible from the terrace .Two adults per bedroom, or in the rooms downstairs 3 children. Then there is room for 8! Same price of course.
Well-equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath, washbasin and toilet, separate fountain in the hall, and another separate toilet and shower.
Terrace in front of the entrance with large table and BBQ. NEW this year, a play area at a poodle spot by the private stream,. There is also a large flat car park for badminton or jeu de boules .
There is no TV, but there is WIFI.

The house is at the head of a hamlet with panoramic views, at the beginning of the Ardeche valley. Here nature is very rugged, rocks and chestnut trees, and the Ardeche is another stream. A stream also flows near the house, with a play area and for paddling. There are beautiful natural swimming spots in the area.

Een week genoten van gite La fontanita! Wát een prachtig plekje! We hadden fantastisch weer, en Francine gaf leuke tips!
De wifi is niet altijd even goed hier, maar ach.. het is vakantie hè. Echt een aanrader dit huisje!Birgit from Putten,
Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad. Francine is een hartelijke gastvrouw die, op verzoek, hele fijne tips geeft over wat er te doen is in de omgeving. Wij hebben al haar tips opgevolgd en waren er superblij mee. De omgeving is prachtig, het huis prima en de plek subliem. Niet het meest toeristische deel van de Ardèche, wat ons juist uitstekend beviel. Het is een aanrader om hier te zijn. We hebben ook gezellige gesprekken met Francine gevoerd op het terras onder het genot van een lekker drankje. Kortom, een aanrader.

We waren hier in augustus met onze 4 kinderen ( 5,8,11,14) en onze labrador. We hebben hier een prima week gehad. Het huis is ruim en voorzien van alle benodigdheden. De kamers beneden blijven koel, ook als het buiten behoorlijk warm wordt. Voor het bedrag dat je betaalt krijg je een huis met heel goede prijs/kwaliteit verhouding.
Francine is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Zij heeft ons erg geholpen met het vinden van een garage en het plannen van uitjes. Zwemmen bij de pont du diable is een erg leuke ervaring. Om te kanoën in de Ardeche moet je ruim een uur rijden. Aan het eind van de week bleek dat Francine heel erg lekkere pannenkoeken kan bakken.

Almost every day of the week there is a market somewhere nearby, where the most delicious ingredients can be found for a good meal with a good glass of wine.
Of course, there are also numerous restaurants.
Activities
La Fontanita (the little spring) is a place to unwind. There are beautiful walks in the area, and because this is a low mountain range, you can get to the top of the mountains in a day trip (hiking maps available), where time has stood still and society is very far away, and back down in plenty of time. To enjoy afterward on the terrace with a view. Or grab a garden chair and sit somewhere in the country, for example in the meadow next to the stream.... There is plenty of tourist information available in the gîte, canoeing is possible lower down in the valley, nearby also canyoning (climbing along the river with ropes). And on top of the mountain is a riding school for outdoor rides.

Further remarks
The house is well cared for and comfortable but basic..The garden is wild, and also consists of unkept fields.
There is also a separate freezer in the kitchen,a food processor, a toaster and an airfryer.

It is possible to book an arrival meal: for 2 pers. 15 euros, 4 pers. à 25 euros , 6 pers. 35 euros, 8 pers. 50 euro. ( Quiche, salad, bottle of wine/soft drink. dessert, bread cheese)
Dog can come along for 2.50 euros per day!
