The house
Dear interested tenants,
Our gite Domaine les Cremillieux is currently undergoing a major renovation, bringing it completely up to date with the current times.
Unfortunately, we now know that the renovation will not be completed before the summer of the 2024 holiday season, due to illness.
We assume that we will be able to welcome guests again in the summer of 2025 and then our holiday home will look even more beautiful after the renovation!

Les Cremillieux is a very spacious holiday home with all modern conveniences. The extensive garden surrounding the holiday house offers a wide variety of possibilities to enjoy the beautiful view - and the peace - in the shade or in the sun. Under its chestnut tree or next to its authentic granite stone walls with gate.
From a flowery veranda, you enter the ground floor of the holiday home. There you will find a living room-kitchen, toilet, bathroom and hallway. The living room-kitchen is spacious (8x4m) and comfortable. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, five-burner gas hob with oven and fridge-freezer. The living area includes two leather sofas, two coffee tables, a bookcase with books and games and Dutch satellite TV. From the three large windows you can enjoy the beautiful views of the valley and the mountains opposite.
Also on the ground floor is the toilet and a bathroom with bathtub, washbasin, washing machine and a large storage cupboard. In the hall is a sideboard with crockery and a wardrobe with the hoover and ironing board.
On the first floor are two generous bedrooms. One room has a twin bed, the other has a double bed. Both bedrooms have a hanging cupboard, a wardrobe, a desk and a washbasin.
There is a bunk bed on the mezzanine and a second bathroom with toilet and shower.
Back on the ground floor, the side veranda houses the dryer and a washing rack. A table tennis table and a football game are set up in the adjacent garage. From there you walk in a few steps to the largest heated pool in the area.

The location is characterised by peace and quiet and wide views. You can enjoy the sun and swimming in peace and quiet on the spacious grounds with a beautiful view of the mountains!
In the north of the Ardèche on the territory of the village Pailharès you find Domaine Les Cremillieux. It is a granite farm from 1786, which lies free on twelve hectares of forest and pasture land. The farm consists of two separately habitable houses.
During the holidays, in winter and in summer, the Dutch owners live in the western house. The eastern house is furnished as a luxurious holiday home for six people and contains comfortable furniture and many practical household appliances.
On Cremillieux you can relax in a natural environment and the children can play undisturbed.
You have a 1000m2 garden at your disposal, with a sandbox for the children, a large garden table with six chairs, a parasol and a barbecue. Furthermore, there is a table tennis table and a football game.
Behind the house is the terrace with the largest heated swimming pool in the area. This private pool has dimensions of 15x5 metres and a depth of 140 cm. There is a cabin by the pool, where you can change and shower. Around the pool we have comfortable loungers with mattresses available for you.
The swimming season starts at the beginning of June and ends in mid-September.
The swimming pool has a pool heater and a cover; we keep the water temperature at 25 degrees.
The cost of electricity is settled via an intermediate meter.
Les Cremillieux is a lovely, quiet place with a beautiful view of the mountains. A true paradise for cyclists, hikers and swimmers!

Een paradijsje op aarde. De natuur levert haar bijdrage. Rust, ruimte, vogelgezang en vergezichten. Daarenboven een prachtige accommodatie, waarbij het verwarmde, grote zwembad niet onvermeld mag blijven. Met Kim en Joop als gastvrije, behulpzame en vriendelijke eigenaar/beheerder.

Fijn en schoon huis. Alles wat je nodig zou kunnen hebben is aanwezig. Perfect groot en kraakhelder zwembad. Wij hebben meer dan genoten van de omgeving, de prachtige wandelingen en de heerlijkheden uit de moestuin. Joop en Kim bedankt!
Edith, Thomas en Amarins from Emmen,
We waren er weer!
In weer een andere samenstelling hebben we twee heerlijke weken gehad. Dit jaar waren we met Thomas, Amarins en Edith, en ons 15-jarig nichtje Vlinder was er een groot deel van de tijd ook bij.
Vlinder is na ruim een week opgehaald door haar ouders Jacco en Martine, en zussen Rosalie en Ditte. Zij hebben hier drie nachten met de caravan gestaan en genoten met ons van gite en zwembad.
Natuurlijk hebben we mooie tochten gemaakt door de omgeving, markten bezocht en zijn we in de buurt uit eten geweest. We hebben veel gezwommen en regelmatig bijgekletst met Joop en Kim. Kortom: het was een heerlijke vakantie!!!
We zijn heel benieuwd naar de verbouwplannen voor de gite. Om dat te kunnen bewonderen moéten we wel terugkomen. Daar kijken we nu al naar uit!

In the area around Pailharès, there are several restaurants; you will find a variety of dishes ranging from crèpes to traditional French dishes.
In the valley of the Rhone, there are many caves of famous wine houses, where you can taste and buy wine.
Activities
In the surroundings of Les Cremillieux, you can practice several sports: swimming, windsurfing, tennis, and above all, very nice hiking and biking. The largest cycling event in France, the L'Ardechoise, departs from our neighbouring town of St. Felicien.
If you are looking for other adventure, the old fashioned steam train will take you through the Gorges du Doux or you can visit the Safari Park, the Miniature Park or the Survival Park in the area.
In the surrounding area, the extensive walks and cycling tours are especially recommended. The descriptions of a large number of tours are ready for you in the holiday home.
There are also several "plan d'eau" where you can fish and you can use the tennis courts which are a short distance away.

At 4 km from Les Cremillieux is the village of Saint-Félicien. There you can find a bakery, a butcher, a supermarket, a cafe, a doctor and a pharmacy.
On Friday morning there is a market. On Sundays you can buy products from the farmers in the area.

Further remarks
The tourist office of Saint Félicien gives information about walking and cycling tours; the descriptions of the tours and other tourist information are also in the cottage.
They also have all kinds of other information about the area, such as when all kinds of theatre performances are given on the squares of the various villages in the area. The tennis court can be booked through the tourist office.

Additional price info and offers
You can rent bed and bath linen for the period of your stay (€ 14,50 p.p/p.w). Every week a clean package.
The costs for the obligatory final cleaning amount to € 70.
The period that you can use the swimming pool is from the beginning of June until half September.
The cost of electricity of the pool heating depends on the outside temperature and amounts to an average of € 55, - per week.
The cost of the electricity used by the tenant of the cottage and pool are settled with their own meters costs € 0.25 per kwh. The first 150 kwh. per week are included in the rental price.
The high season weeks are the weeks of the Dutch, Belgian and French holidays and the 3rd week of June because of the cycle tour de l'Ardechoise.
The half-season weeks are for all school holidays and when the swimming pool is open.
All other weeks are low-season weeks.
