Discover its paradisiacal setting: situated on a quietly babbling river, just outside a charming medieval village, hidden in the breathtaking Regional Parc de Baronnies Provençales at the crossroads of the departments of Drôme, Hautes Alpes, Provence-Alpes- Côte d'Azur and Vaucluse.
Here, the rugged Alps merge with panoramic views, the azure river Meouge and the sweetness of Provence with its lavender fields, olive groves and vast vineyards.

The large, fully enclosed child-friendly garden is a delight in itself: a secluded pool with barbecue and picnic tables, several spots in the garden with long tables, a pizza oven, a swing, a gnome forest for the children, a playing field and a babbling river where the children can build dams to their heart's content. If you have had enough of playing in the sun, the old trees and gazebos offer plenty of shady spots to chill out.
The romantic rocking bench by the babbling brook provides a perfect setting for evening get-togethers. And when night falls, enjoy a glass of wine in the hot tub while admiring the starry sky.
Oh yes. And for cyclists, there is a shed for bikes and a washing area to get your bike shining again.
The climate here is truly unique. With 320 sunny days a year and cool nights even in summer at an altitude of 700 metres, air conditioning is unnecessary. Close the shutters during the day and open the windows at night for a lovely breeze.
And the best news: almost no mosquitoes, so you can enjoy the outdoors undisturbed!

The holiday home:
The spacious house (320m2) can accommodate groups of up to 17 people.
The first floor of Le Rêve consists of a spacious living room, a smaller living room, 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms.
On the second floor are 3 double bedrooms with a bathroom on the west and from the living room on the east a staircase leads to the is a 4-person mezzanine.
There are 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in total. The bedrooms have new comfortable twin beds and there are 2 double beds on the 2nd floor. Most rooms have their own washbasins with hot and cold running water.
The kitchen is well equipped, including a large cooker with 5 gas rings, a combination oven, a large electric oven, an American fridge/freezer, an extra refrigerator, two dishwashers, a filter coffee maker, a Nespresso machine, kettle, all kitchen appliances and a large U-shaped countertop with bar stools for cosy cooking with several people. Moreover, all spices are provided, so no need to bring them with you.
For the maintenance of the house, the garden and the swimming pool, I am regularly present myself. My private domain is a fenced-off area on the north side of the house.

Outside holiday periods, the villa is used as accommodation for cycling groups, painting groups, group holidays, workshops, trainings and retreats.

Discover the charming medieval village of Lachau, with its centuries-old castle, set in an area of harmony and abundant light. Here, locals live in close contact with nature, where time and ambition do not matter.
Spend cosy moments at the local bistro, where friendly villagers congregate. On Saturday mornings, there is a small market offering regional products.
On the outskirts of the village, you will find a playground and a sports field.
The Tour de Riable, a ruin high on the mountain opposite, and the thirteenth-century Notre Dame De Calma church are beautiful historical sites to explore.
Boules competitions are organised regularly and the region offers numerous events such as lavender festivals, flea markets, Provençal markets where street musicians often liven things up even more.
On 21 June, the Fête de la Musique is celebrated across France.
On 24 June, the St Jean festival takes place in Eourres, with fire, music, dancing and good food. St Jean is also celebrated more modestly in Lachau.
On 15 August, the village festival is scheduled, with boules competitions, a small fair and live music.
What is particularly nice in this region is that vendors are not pushy. People are incredibly cordial. They are proud of their products and are happy to tell you about them, but if you don't buy they smile kindly at you and wish you a very nice day.

Baker
In Lachau is an organic bakery Le Fournil, Run by Fanny et Souryan. An experience in itself! Open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 5pm to 6pm. The bread is delicious and keeps for a very long time.
In Sederon (9 km) there is a bakery open every day from 8 am to 12.30 pm.
For large groups, it is appreciated that you order for the next day.
Supermarkets
In Sederon 9 km from Lachau, there is a fine supermarket. It is open every day. All day in summer, closed at lunchtime the rest of the year.
On Sunday mornings there is a market in Sederon. The bakery and supermarket are also open.
In Eourres 7 km is the Biocoop, a nice organic shop with a wide range of products.
Montbrun les Bains: U express, 26 km. Closed at lunchtime.
Laragne: Casino and Intermarché, 25 kilometres. Open at noon.
Between Laragne and Sisteron. 37 kilometres. Near the Centre commercial a very large Super U and a Lidl and an Intersport.
Sault: Ecomarché, 36 kilometres. This supermarket is closed between 12 noon and 2.30pm.
Nearby
Cheese farm: The Truchet family keeps goats and sheep in our valley and sells delicious goat cheese at the market. You are also welcome ( with your children) to buy it directly from the farm. Direction Éourres, a few dozen metres from our house.
Lou and Manu make delicious pesto, herbal teas, herbal vinegar, lavender oil, essential oils, products with medicinal properties from plant extracts, ointments and much more www.melilou.fr
You can also enjoy delicious pure honey from the bees of Alex Rigat, who feeds his bees on mountain flowers and lavender in summer.

'France is beautiful, but no French people should live here' we sometimes hear people say. That doesn't hold true here! Thanks to the friendly people and their cordiality, we feel at home here, and you will soon experience the same. A simple 'Bonjour madame/monsieur' is greatly appreciated here.

In Sederon, there is a bar and very good restaurant Hello Resto. Very good food and affordable menus, with a terrace behind the restaurant.
La Forge in Mevouillon - cosy eatery with terrace outside.
L'air du Ventoux in Barret de Lioure - eat ice cream with great views of the valley and Mont Ventoux (closed on Wednesdays).
La Tentation in Montbrun les Bains - Open every day in July, August and September. Be sure to book in advance as this is a sought-after restaurant with, among other things, delicious pizzas.
L'O des Sources at Chateau Gipiere in Montbrun les Bains is a very good restaurant near a small castle. Listed in the Michelin guide. There is also a cave where you can taste wine.
La Clavelière in St Auban sur Auvèze - good , somewhat more expensive restaurant with beautiful views (phone: 0033 475286107).
Laragne Monteglin - several good restaurants, including Le Basilic.
Villa D'Este in Sisteron - restaurant with good reputation (reservations recommended, 11 Rue Sainte-Ursurle, 04200 Sisteron, phone: 0033 (0) 4 92 31 86 76).
Wine route; areas such as Cotes du Rhone and the southern flanks of Mont Ventoux are famous and the proud farmers there invite you to taste........

Natural Bathing Water
Discover the paradisiacal Gorges de Méouges, an enchanting area in our backyard. Beautiful spots along the river can be found everywhere. The tourist attraction, a waterfall about 20 km from our house, is also easily accessible for children.
35 km from Lachau, north of Laragne, is Plan d'eau de Riou, a large lake. Enjoy the beautiful beaches, take a refreshing dip, venture into windsurfing or relax on the water with a pedalo. A cosy beach bar awaits on the shore where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and tasty snacks.
Hiking
Explore the beautiful surroundings around Lachau on foot or by bike. For example, take a walk to La Tour du Riable, which you can see from the garden, or discover the picturesque path to Eourres. Walking paths are clearly marked everywhere.
Jeep tour through the mountains with a fellow villager
Let the back of a Jeep take you through rugged nature and lavender fields! Be sure to request this unique experience well in advance due to driver availability.
Hiking through the Gorges

Discover picturesque villages high on cliffs or tucked away in valleys. Narrow medieval alleys lead past lovely gardens to cosy terraces.
Narrow alleys dating back to the Middle Ages lead past lovely gardens. You can take pleasant walks past houses, streets, through romantic covered passages to find a nice terrace on a square shaded by plane trees.
Séderon (10 min)
A larger village. Apart from the bakery, supermarket, bank and a few restaurants, there are tennis courts and a nice swimming pool. On Sunday mornings there is a market and the bakery and supermarket are also open.
Montbrun les Bains (20 min)
A visit to the thermal baths of medieval Montbrun les Bains is nice to combine with a climb to the old citadel. There are several nice restaurants.
In the wine cave at the chateau Gipière you can taste delicious Ventoux wines.
Market is on Saturday mornings.
Orpierre (30 min)
Famous among climbers worldwide, with 600 metres of climbing wall around the village.
Laragne (30 min)
Nice town with shopping streets, restaurants and a lively market on Thursdays with organic produce.
Sisteron (50 min)
Charming waterfront town with shops and a famous citadel.Famous for Napoleon's tours. An artificial lake has been created in the park with shaded areas and large barbecues.
Buis les Baronnies (50 min)
Beautiful village with plane trees and colourful houses. Authentic Provencal market on Wednesday mornings until 1pm. Highly recommended and a beautiful route to drive!
Vaison La Romaine (1 hour)
Roman excavations and large Provencal market on Tuesday mornings.
Wine regions are located south, west and north of Vaison La Romaine.-
Sault (40 min)
The quaint town at the bottom of Mont Ventoux is pleasantly filled with cyclists. The market there is on Wednesday mornings. On the terrace overlooking Mont Ventoux you can have a delicious and cheap lunch.
Bedoin (1h20)
The village of cyclists who take the toughest route Mont Ventoux. Nice place and market on Mondays!
Gorges of the Nesque (50 min)
Beautiful route from Sault to Bedoin south of Mont Ventoux. There are also wineries there including chateau Pesquie in Mormoiron.

Wat een sfeervol huis met keurig ingerichte kamers en een ruime open keuken. Dit alles in een prachtig gebied met vele mogelijkheden voor iedereen, wandelen, fietsen, mooie dorpjes bezoeken en zelfs een ruim uur rijden van een uitgebreid skigebied. Het was geweldig, om hier met een leuk stel mensen te zijn geweest.Jammer, dat het te koud was om gebruik te maken van het zwembad :)

Heerlijk huis, gelegen in een prachtige omgeving geschikt voor fietsen (pittig!), wandelen, parapenten. Wij waren hier met een groep van 15 fietsers. Zelf koken, eten op het terras. De eigenaars zijn erg vriendelijk en bereid je overal bij te helpen. Het dorpje Lachau en de omgeving ademen rust en je hebt het gevoel hier helemaal op te kunnen gaan in het Franse leven. 400 meter verderop is verse geitenkaas te koop direct van de boer. 2 restaurantjes in het dorp.
