The house
The holiday home is a detached villa (200 m2), peacefully situated in a large private garden of 5000 m2 on the outskirts of the village of Piégros la Clastre. Built entirely on the ground floor and spacious. There is a large sitting room with fire place. Open passage to the dining room with large dining table that seats 6. Modern, well-equipped kitchen. Oven, kettle, coffee machine, nespresso machine and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the summer kitchen. The 3 bedrooms can be reached from the corridor: 2 spacious bedrooms with a double bed and own washbasin; another bedroom with 2 single beds. There is a bathroom with bath, double washbasin and separate shower. The house has 2 separate toilets.
The dining room with French doors leads to a spacious covered terrace with outdoor dining table and built-in barbecue. The beautiful, whimsically shaped swimming pool is accessed via a Romanesque staircase. It is 0.60 to 2.25 m deep and has a size of 5x11 m. The pool is entirely for your own use. There are sun beds by the pool. The pool is secured with a fence. The spacious garden directly goes over into the mountain landscape of the nature reserve "les Trois Becs". There is a large orchard with various fruits such as cherries, plums, apples and nuts.

The house is located in the Drôme, a beautiful unspoilt area north of the Provence and east of the Ardèche. The house is situated in the valley of the river Drôme at the foot of the mighty massif of nature reserve "les Trois Becs", near the castle of Piegros. The location is on a hill at the edge of the forest with a beautiful view. The house is quietly located in the outskirts of the small village of Piegros-la-Clastre, about 1 km from the village centre. In the village is a cosy bistrot with a shady terrace. Here you can get fresh bread in the morning. The nature is overwhelmingly beautiful and both to the south (Saou, Drôme Provencale) and to the north (the Vercors) and also to the east (Die and the valley of the river Drôme) beautiful trips can be made.
Fantastic views, old towns, cosy markets, swimming and canoeing and delicious restaurants are all worth enjoying. The flora and fauna (including vultures!) are richly varied.
Local markets in Die and Crest, village festivals in July and August, gliding, paragliding, canoeing/kayaking on the river Drôme, small restaurants with local specialties, wine routes.

Heerlijke week gehad in dit prachtige vakantiehuis. De rust en privacy in de tuin met het mooie zwembad is echt genieten! Het huis bied alle comfort die je nodig hebt, gezellige woonkamer en ook de keuken is prima uitgerust.
De omgeving is echt geweldig als je van natuur houdt met de rivier de Drome als top locatie om te zwemmen!
Verder zijn er ruim voldoende dorpjes in de buurt die het meer dan waard zijn om te bezoeken in de mooie omgeving.Fam. den Boer from Leidschendam,
Ondanks het wisselvallige weer hebben we een heerlijke tijd gehad in Le Pic Vert. Het is een prachtige omgeving met veel wandel en fiets mogelijkheden. Helaas was het zwembad voor ons nog te koud. De beheerder Benoît was ontzettend behulpzaam en gaf veel tips over de omgeving en de restaurants.

Weekje vakantie in dit huis had perfect langer mogen duren ... zowel wat het huis (ruim, leuk zwembad, rustig gelegen en prachtig uitzicht op de ondergaande zon), als wat de streek betreft (wandelmogelijkheden, niet overdreven druk en met de Drôme en enkele stadjes en dorpjes voldoende bezienswaardigheden in de buurt). Inpakken en vertrekken deed een beetje pijn ...
Restaurants, food & wine
Clairette de Die is the wine of the Drôme valley and the local winegrowers are happy to welcome you for a tasting. In the Rhone valley to the north are famous appellations such as Hermitage, Condrieu, Cornas. Towards the south one arrives at the area of other famous Côtes-du-Rhône wines: Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacquereas. But try also the great variety of "vins de pays"!
The many restaurants in the area serve a simple dish of the day or a beautiful local dish: there is a wide variety to choose from: from pizza cart to bistrot and from auberge to 3-star Michelin restaurant!
Typical regional products of the Drôme are, besides wine and the well-known nougat, especially goat cheese, olives, honey, nuts, guinea fowl, fresh vegetables and much, much fresh fruit. On the local markets, the choice is enormous!
Activities
Sporty:
Swimming in the beautiful swimming pool in the garden. Walking, cycling and mountain biking in the mountains and hills around. The department of the Drôme is excellent and extensively signposted for hikers and VTT. Canoeing and swimming in the river Drôme at 3 minutes. Golf (9-holes) at 15 minutes.
Canyoning, tree trails, scooter descents, paragliding, gliding, paintball, karting, abseiling the tower of Crest, climbing, tennis, kayaking, horse riding etc.
Nature:
The Vercors, the largest nature reserve in France, is close by and with its 1700 hectares of plateau and a wealth of fauna and flora it is a paradise for nature lovers. Interesting for birdwatchers !
Cultural heritage:
The Drôme Valley has about twenty 'Villages Perchés', very charming high-lying villages which tower above the valley. A visit to the old Crest with its donjon and the three castles of the Drôme (Grignan, Suze la Rousse and Montélimar) is definitely worthwhile. Resistance museums in the Vercors.
At the beginning of August, the city of Crest organises its internationally renowned jazz festival.
In about 30 minutes you can reach Valence and Montélimar. Historical and atmospheric places with many good restaurants and nice terraces.
In about 60 minutes in cities like Avignon (theatre festival) and Orange. All very worthwhile!

Bird park, crocodile farm, adventure park, walks with the donkey, museum of sweets and nougat, visit to wine cellars, museum of the Clairette, beekeeping, olive oil, silkworm farm etc.
