The house
In the middle of France's wooded countryside, stands this charming natural cottage. The cottage has an enchanting view over a ravine. The covered veranda is a great place to relax outside in both summer and winter. On the first floor of the cottage there is another terrace adjacent to the bedroom. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen, living room and bathroom. The cosy living room has a lovely sitting area, wood-burning stove and television. The cosy kitchen is equipped with all important kitchen accessories. On the first floor you will find the bedroom with a loft as an extra sleeping place. From the bedroom you also have a beautiful view of the surroundings. We rent from Saturday to Saturday. The cottage is located near Grand Soleil in the same hamlet Le Soleil. Our donkey farm 'Huisjeboompjeezeltje' is also within walking distance, where you can book (multi-)day donkey rides.
Nature and surroundings
Its location makes this nature cottage the ideal base for nature lovers, peace seekers and hikers. The surroundings are perfect for walks through meadows, forests and along babbling brooks. Walking maps with beautiful routes are available in the nature cottage. There is a good chance of encountering wildlife on a walk. For bird lovers, the area is a true paradise with more than 60 different bird species.

Super plek op en heel mooie locatie waar je je helemaal alleen kunt wanen. Er komt geen verkeer en je kunt vanuit het huisje meteen de bossen in voor wandelingen en genieten van de rust, de natuur en wilde dieren.
Bij het huisje is een fijne tuin met voldoende mogelijkheden om lekker te zitten met een mooi uitzicht over het dal. Het huisje zelf is comfortabel en voorzien van alle gemakken.
Restaurants, food & wine
n France in the Auvergne wine region. In reality, however, the Côte d'Auvergne is much closer to the south of the Bourgogne region and the Rhône valley. In 1951, it obtained the V.D.Q.S status and in 2011, this area was promoted to A.O.C.
As for small restaurants/auberges, we can recommend plenty of them. Furthermore, Brioude has a nice local market on Saturday where a nice collection of food is offered.
A beautiful wine region at a reasonable distance is Boudes various caves and tastings.

In the vicinity of Le Soleil, you can make beautiful walks, relax, light fires, watch the stars, swim, canoe, cycle, ski, visit an old town or take a donkey ride with one of our donkeys from our donkey farm 'Huisjeboompjeezeltje'. Le Soleil is located at 850 m altitude in the Auvergne region, 1000 km from Utrecht. Auvergne is an authentic part of France, characterised by peace and space. Between unspoilt forests, wild rivers, windy plateaus and green hills shaped by volcanoes, French farmers cultivate their fields here. Le Soleil is located in the Forez Livradois. One of the largest nature reserves in France. From Le Soleil you can take beautiful walks. For culture lovers, there are numerous castles and old villages with Romanesque churches to visit, where market vendors sell their wares on Saturdays.

Further remarks
It is very quiet and in the middle of nature. A birdwatcher once recorded 66 different species. The complete list is included with the photos. There is also a lot of wildlife in the area. The surroundings are very varied; meadows, woods and streams in the immediate vicinity. The highest peak is at 1200 metres, so it is a low mountain range. Both houses are equipped with the blue ign hiking maps.
