The house
Holiday home La Rue is a new, luxurious and very comfortable holiday home built in the style of the region. There is a large terrace with garden furniture.
The house is divided as follows: hall/entrance, fully equipped kitchen, toilet, two double bedrooms, luxurious bathroom with 2nd toilet, large living/dining room with TV/video (satellite), cosy wood stove. French doors to the terrace. Heating in all rooms.
Free internet access. Electric bicycles available per day/week. Charging point for electric car available.
We - Chris and Marianne de Vries - would like to welcome you to this pleasant cottage in the heart of France, the Berry or as the French call it: la France profonde, the 'real, deep France'.
We ourselves have lived for 20 years in this beautiful hilly region with hedges, thickets, forests and alternating pastures where cows with their calves 'decorate' this old extensively cultivated landscape. A beautiful coulisse-landscape and a quiet region of France that is relatively untouched by tourism and the modern hurried time and whereby in the not subdivided landscape still a lot of nature can be found. Think of wildlife (deer, badgers, foxes, martens) and many species of (predatory) birds. In short, it is a paradise for hikers, cyclists and nature lovers, not in the least because of the quiet roads that wind through this 'paysage' and the quiet marked footpaths. You will only meet the occasional Santiago-de-Compostela pilgrim.

Holiday home La Rue is located in a very quiet area with a beautiful view of the Vallee Noire, in a beautifully landscaped garden of 2 hectares, which also includes the owner's house. On this property a large swimming pool (5 x 10m) with sun terrace. At about 8 km distance shops, post office, etc.
In the vicinity you can also go ULM-flying (ultra-light-machine, with an instructor you can immediately take to the air), horse riding (riding school at 5 min. with outside rides), play golf (several quiet golf courses in the vicinity, no traffic jam golfing here), visit brocantes and vide-greniers every weekend (you can still find real bargains, the French from the north come here to do their shopping).

Heerlijke plek om te vertoeven en tot rust te komen. Alles is er aanwezig in het huis. En het zwembad maakt het compleet

Mooi verzorgde gite, Alles wat je nodig hebt aan apparatuur in de keuken is aanwezig. Goede wifi en voor de liefhebbers Nederlandse kabel-tv. De eigenaren Chris en Marianne zijn vriendelijk en hulpvaardig. Ideale plek om tot rust te komen midden in het boerenland in een niet toeristische omgeving. Heerlijk zwembad waarvan alleen de bewoners van de gite gebruik maken, dat gaf een heel luxe gevoel. Voor winkelen en eten heb je de auto nodig (of fiets). Wij moesten even wennen aan het feit dat vrijwel alle restaurants op zondag en maandag dicht zijn. Een plek om te onthouden we wellicht terug te komen.

Heerlijk geslapen in deze mooie gites. Vooral de gastheer en gastvrouw zijn heel aardig. Een mooi landgoed met privé zwembad tot beschikking. Schitterend gelegen en mooie natuur in de omgeving. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien en heeft ook een terras. Al met al een ideaal huis voor een prettige vakantie,

Activities
Also the more mundane are not forgotten: the larger cities (Bourges, Chateauroux, at 8 km charming La Châtre) with their striking 'monuments historiques' and their cosy terraces and restaurants with the honest Berrichon kitchen (with its fair prices !) and the wines from the nearby vineyards (Chateaumeillant, Reuilly, Quincy).

And nearby - in Nohant - the Domaine of George Sand, the famous feminist avant la lettre and writer, with whom Frédéric Chopin lived for 7 years and where he composed his most beautiful music. Castles galore too, we are in la douce France, aren't we? Valençay, Azay-le-Ferron, Ainay-le-Vieil, the fortress of Sarzay and of Culan, all within reach.
And if you are a gardener, visit the beautiful but lesser known gardens of Orsan and Drulon, belonging to the famous 'jardins remarquables'.
Also our own garden and vegetable garden of 2 ha are freely accessible to our guests, with their four-legged friend (for which there is also a special fenced off pasture).
