The house
Cosy holiday home Tranzault is located in the heart of France in Le Berry, department Indre (named after the river that flows through it) in the triangle of the towns of Châteauroux, La Châtre and Argenton.
In this comfortable holiday home you will find a living room / dining room with fireplace and a sofa bed, television and radio / CD / MP3 player.
The spacious open kitchen has a ceramic hob, fridge with freezer, oven and microwave.
Upstairs is a WC, a bright bedroom with two single beds with a bathroom with shower and wash basin and a bedroom with a double bed and a built-in large wardrobe.
Behind the house adjacent to the kitchen is a covered terrace with seating area where you can enjoy the morning sun but also sit outside if it is rainy. The garden has a large lawn with a ruin, there is also a vegetable garden and behind it beautiful white French cows graze.
In front of the house is a round stone table under a tree, where you can have a nice dinner in the evening, and a park-like garden.
In this garden there is a saltwater swimming pool which is lit in the evening . We have opted for salt water instead of chlorine because it is better for the skin and the environment.
The house is situated in a pleasant region with rolling landscapes, meadows, forests with lakes and picturesque villages where you can still enjoy small-scale antique and flea markets undiscovered by mass tourism.
Ideal for tranquility, walkers, cyclists, but also inspiring for artists, painters and culture lovers.

Indre has a varied landscape is very suitable for walking and cycling. It is possible to undertake many walks in the immediate area from 4 to 25 km. And more than 150 villages in the region have their own cycling and walking routes. There are forests and rolling fields with grazing cows and sheep, sunflower- and wheat fields and many lakes and small rivers. Within walking distance you will find many pleasant shallow rivers which are very suitable for water fun with small children. The beautiful nature are De Brenne (16,000 ha), 'the land of thousand fens', is also nearby. But there are lakes with small beaches, for instance at Le Val de Creuse (Eguson) with some of the most beautiful villages along its shore among which artists ' village Gargilesse.
The Indre was also the home of writer George Sand (1804-1876). In the village of Nohant is the family domain where she wrote her famous novels "Les Petite Fadette" and "Les Maîtres Sonneurs", and both novels are set in this region. Her country house was the refuge and summer residence of the great composers Chopin and Liszt and writers including Balzac, Flaubert, Turgenev and the painter Delacroix.
Apart from the beautiful rural environment with an abundance of culture, you can be in Paris within two hours.
With the TGV in only takes 1 hour and 50 minutes! Quite manageable for a fun day out. For around € 75, you have a return ticket for two people if you book early.
Castles
The castles of Lys-Saint-Georges, Sarzay or Valencay are close by and very beautiful.
But you can also visit one of the other hundred castles /stately homes dating from as far back as the Middle Ages (Loire)
Bouges and Azay-le-Ferron castle are definitely worth a visit.
Make sure to visit the frescoes and murals in ten churches in Indre (Boischaut Sud).
George Sand estate
In addition to it being worth a visit, this estate is also the starting point of the George Sand route that leads to Gargilesse, the artists' village, and to places where the writer found her inspiration. The little lake of the devil "La mare au diable" is within walking distance from here. The somewhat spooky journey to this pool is beautifully described in her eponymous book "La mare au diable"
Image garden
Drulon castle has an exuberant and wonderful flower garden from spring to autumn in which an area has been created for contemporary art.
Music festivals
Festivals such as Fête Romantiques, Rencontres Fréderic Chopin, Rencontres des luthiers et maîtres sonneurs (music and romantic literature), Festival de Harpe, Rencontres de la Prée in Ségry, the Pierre qui chantent and Vallée Noire and the Septembre Musical in Valencay are fun, colourful and a must for music lovers!
Animal Park
The animal park of Haute-Touche (180 ha.) between Azay-le Ferron and Obterre is the most extensive parks in Europe with an acual 21st century Noah's Ark where various endangered species from around the world live.

Samen met onze hond hebben wij twee fijne weken gehad in de Franse gite van Liesbeth. Ondanks het weer konden we goed buiten zitten op het terras onder de druifjes. Het huis is koel binnen en van alle gemakken voorzien. Prettige ruimtes en een fijne slaapkamer. De omgeving is erg leuk en ouderwets Frans. Elke dag kregen we leuke tips om te gaan doen, zoals mooie concerten in de omgeving, kunstenaarsdorpjes (zoals Gargilesse), het landgoed van schrijfster George Sand ook zeer de moeite waard, restaurantjes voor diners tijdens de lunch wat hier de gewoonte is. Na het eten kun je een mooie stille avondwandeling maken vanuit huis door de weilanden! Je komt er niemand tegen.
Dankjewel Liesbeth voor je gastvrijheid en Flo voor het geven van de vele lieve kopjes , het wijzen van de weg en het spelen met Nitsa. Oh, er is geen zwembad meer, maar dat mag de pret niet bedreven.Judith from Zwijndrecht,
Eind augustus ben ik met een vriendin nog een keer naar Tranzault terug geweest. Ik hou erg van de omgeving in de Indre. Er is veel te zien, zoals een mooi kasteel, een kunstenaarsdorpje, een grote mooie markt in Boussac enz. Tijdens wandelingen kom je hooguit koeien tegen. Veel uit eten geweest wat zeer betaalbaar is. Liesbeth was weer zeer hulpvaardig en leuk haar weer te ontmoeten. Wie weet kom ik nog weer een keer terug voor de heerlijke Franse wijn, het zwembad en natuurlijk Flo de hond.

But you can also enjoy a good simple French meal in Neuvy St. Sépulcre, where there is also a supermarket (2.5 km) and in Sarzay (4 km) overlooking a beautiful castle .
In the Berry it is common to have an extensive lunch and in the immediate vicinity there are many nice village restaurants where the local residents never skip a hot meal.

A climbing trail is a collection of platforms in trees that are interconnected by ropes, rope ladders, bridges and zip lines. The park consists of 4 different courses of varying levels. For example, there is a special course for children, where parents can keep an eye on things, but also a tough course for the advanced climber.

Further remarks
The gite is part of our private residence but it is completely independent and has its own private entrance.
Downstairs is the living-dining room with a corner sofa which also doubles as a sofa bed (200x80) and there is a television. It also has a good wood burning stove and fire wood can be obtained from us. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge with freezer section, coffee maker, ceramic hob, oven and microwave.
Upstairs is the WC and a bedroom with two singles (200x80). This room has a bathroom with washbasin and shower and gives acces to the other bedroom with double bed (210x160).
There is another good wood burning stove upstairs plus electric heating unit.
In the extension downstairs behind the house you will find the washing machine, ironing board and iron.
At the front is a beautiful park-like garden with fruit trees and a swimming pool (4x 10 meters) with a large terrace around it. For evenings there is a light in the pool that illuminates the water. Behind the house is a garden with a large lawn and a rural view of the ruins and a valley.

There are three sun chairs, a folding bed sun lounger and two easy garden chairs and a (simple) barbecue.
For small children there is a children's / baby bed and a high chair, swing and some children's games for outside.

The rental price does not include electricity use (which is to be paid separately according the meter)
We charge 10 euros per week for a dog.
Upon arrival we ask for a 150 euros safety deposit. This will be returned when everything is in a good state. In case anything is broken or damaged then the repair or purchase costs will be deducted from the deposit.
In mid- and low season arrival and departure days can be arranged by mutual agreement.
Arrival is between 16.00 and 20.00.
Departure before 9.30.
