The house
"Les Rosiers", a 4 star officially rated property, is very light, airy and spacious (72 square metres). It is fine for a single person, a couple with or without children. We have a cot and high chair you can borrow.
The main part of the property is entirely on the ground floor and composes of a magnificent cathedral lounge-diner (two sofas, flat screen TV, DVD player, Hifi) with a fitted kitchen (large fridge-freezer, dishwasher, gas hob, microwave oven, electric oven), a double bedroom (opens to the terrace), dressing area and a family sized bathroom (sunken bath with shower unit), double vanity unit, toilet, washing machine).
A spiral staircase lets you access the mezzanine with two single beds for adults and children over 7 years old. This can be closed off when necessary and younger children can use the bed settee and/or a camp bed downstairs.
Come with friends and family! There are a further two properties in the same, extensive grounds: "Les Glycines" (sleeps 6: 3 bedrooms and 3 bath/shower rooms) and "Les Hortensias" (sleeps 4 people: 2 bedrooms and 2 bath/shower rooms)

Being on the outskirts of the village (the centre is just a 10 minute stroll away and has a general store, café, hairdresser and post office) Les Rosiers is beautifully quiet. Walk about 50 metres up the road and you are surrounded by vineyards. Drive or cycle a couple of miles and there's the beautiful River Loire. Small and medium-sized towns are fairly close by so you really have the best of both worlds here!
Getting around:
Having your own car is advisable here but we have had guests arrive by train, borrow the bikes and use the train network to go to Blois, Amboise, Tours and Paris.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The property is beautifully designed to facilitate relaxation, with bikes, hammocks, bbq’s, swimming pool….and even fabulous weather through October. Phil and Sandrine were superb and thoughtful hosts. The gites location in the Loire Valley made for a fabulous holiday.

We have had a lovely stay in the largest gite. We are a family of 6 including 2 children. The equipment of the gite was abolutely good, we haven’t missed a thing!
The garden and pool were great and with so many things for children to play with. Philippe and Sandrine are very nice owners and always helpful.
And the Loire area is beautiful!
Restaurants, food & wine
Located in the heart of the Monteaux-Mesland wine producing area, the property is near vineyards and good wine producers. There are a couple of excellent restaurants within a 10 minute drive and plenty more in Amboise, Onzain, Chaumont and Blois.
Activities
The pool is heated and open from mid May to mid September. There is a Petanque (boules) ground on the property. There are swings and outdoor games near the pool and a selection of bikes (kids and adults) you are welcome to borrow.
The River Loire is just 3 kms away and has cycle tracks. You can also hire kayaks and canoes.

Guests have full use of the house, its private garden with bar-b-que and the main garden with the pool and outdoor games.
Interaction with guests:
Living in the same grounds we are happy to offer advice on how to make the best use of your stay in the area, should you require it. Phil is a conference interpreter and Sandrine works for an American company. We know the area well, we are French, speak English fluently and also some German and some Spanish.
