The house
Mansion with private enclosed garden and covered terrace by the River Saone.
The river is suitable for swimming and fishing and easily accessible.
Everything within walking distance from the baker, supermarket, butchers, ATM, post office and restaurant.
The village is called Monthureux sur Saône. The distance from Maastricht is 400 km.
The large living room has a 3-seater sofa, 5 armchairs and a TV with Dutch channels.
In the kitchen is a large table with 8 chairs and there is a refrigerator-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, ceramic hob, oven, pans and crockery for 8 people available. There is a washing machine in the scullery.
The bathroom has 2 separate showers, 2 toilets, a washbasin and a clothes rack.
On the first floor there are 2 large bedrooms with two double beds and three single beds.
The third bedroom has a beautiful view of the river and has 2 single beds. A cot and an extra guest bed are available. All beds have duvets and pillows. There is a covered terrace with beautiful views of the river and access to the garden. Here is a large table with chairs.
In the garden there is a garden table with chairs and two sun beds.
Books, magazines, board games and children's toys are available.
The house is suitable for a maximum of 8 adults.
Pillows and duvets are provided. Bed linen and towel sets can be rented.

House with garden at the waterfront in Monthureux-sur-Saone. From the garden you have access to the river Saône, which is suitable for swimming and fishing. The river is here about 20 m. wide. Children can play on the waterfall which is situated at 25 m. from the garden. Water depths vary from 50 cm to more than 2.00 m. Fish species: pike, perch, chub, roach, rudd, tench, bleak, rainbow trout and brown trout.
The surroundings are a walking paradise with forests and hills that are also suitable for cyclists and mountain bikers. In the immediate vicinity you will find forests, lakes and plateaus. An ideal environment for beautiful walks, also directly from the holiday home.
For motorcyclists, beautiful day trips can be made.
In the village is a playground and a jeu de boules court.
- Monthureux is an old fortified town with a number of museums and a beautiful old station;
- The source La fontaine du buis;
- La roche dite du serpent (the rock called the snake);
- The embankment of an old railway line;

The heart of the region is the Darney forest. It is one of the largest deciduous forests in France (12,000 hectares). Parts of it have evocative names like "Druid valley" and "Wolf valley". Among other things, there are many kinds of mosses (a sign of the pure air) and several kinds of orchids, some of which are rare. Furthermore, it is home to foxes, deer, wild boar, badgers and even the lynx again. In autumn, many kinds of mushrooms can be found.
Larger towns in the area are: Nancy, Vittel, Bourbonne-les-Bains, Langres, Epinal, Luxeuil-les-Bains, Vesoul, Besancon, Dyon, Beaune and Belfort.

Wij hebben het heerlijk gehad in dit leuke huis op deze mooie plek. Magnifiek uitzicht op de rivier en een omgeving die zich prima leent voor wandelingen. Het huis was zeer compleet, zelfs een goed gevulde boekenkast was er.
Jammer dat het gastenboek hier zo leeg is want die in het huisje was vol met enthousiaste verhalen.
Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Swimming, cycling and fishing, the area is a walking paradise, many forests with wildlife.
In winter, the ski slopes can be reached within 45 minutes. In the vicinity are many activities possible, glass factory, candy factory, canoeing, toboggan run, golf, mountain biking, karting, adventure parks with survival and many cable cars in the trees, swimming pools, museums such as beer museum and prehistoric museum, spas, monasteries, old churches (from the 11th century) etc.

In the summer there are many flea markets in the area.
In the village is a playground, football field and bowling alley.

Additional price info and offers
The price ranges from €525 to €795 per week depending on season and number of people. We grant a 10% discount on the second consecutive week. The house is also suitable for more than 6 people, each additional person costs 30 euros per week. If you do not want to stay a whole week(s), please send us a message about the possibilities and price because the website does not always calculate the price correctly.
High season is July and August. The price includes gas, water and electricity.
In low season, the price does not include heating costs. If you do the final cleaning yourself, there is no cleaning fee.
We allow pets. We do not charge for this. The final cleaning in this case is 100 euros instead of 70 euros.
Bed linen is not included, you can bring your own or rent it for 10 euros per person.
Duvets and pillows are provided. Towel sets can be rented for 7.50 per set.
A towel set consists of 1 large towel, 1 small towel and 2 flannels and for the kitchen 1 kitchen towel, 1 tea towel and 1 dishcloth.
The price per night includes bed linen, final cleaning and heating costs.
