The house
Holiday home Demeure de Thiérache is a sunny mansion with a large enclosed court yard and a beautiful garden. It is a house with character.
Inside you will find rustic furniture in authentic colors.
The ground floor has: a comfortable living room with a sofa and a flat screen TV, internet connection with WIFI, a reading corner with books and bookcase, a dining room seating 10 people, a kitchen, a bedroom with single bed ( 90cm ) and separate WC.
The first floor has a bedroom with two single beds (90x200cm) which can also be made into a double bed and a television. This room has its own bathroom with bath tub, wash basin and shower. A third bedroom with two single bed (90x200cm) and another small bedroom with single bed (90x200cm) are suitable for children. These rooms have their own bathroom, WC and television.
Outside there is a courtyard with parking space, a large green enclosed space with games for children, a pergola with garden furniture, a barbecue and sun beds, and a garage for parking bicycles.
Small pets are welcome.
Tourist tax: 0.88 euros per night per person from the age of 18 and up.

The house is situated in a rural area, in a quiet village with a thousand inhabitants, on a street with very little (car)traffic.
From the garden you have a panoramic view over the forrest, fields and trees. It is very private.
There is a foot path at several metres from the house, that runs along a private forrest. You can walk their without seeing any cars or even bicycles.
There is garage on the terrain where you can park your bicycles safely.
The house has an alarmsystem.

Mooie en ruime gite in een pand met historie. Veel slaapkamers met eigen toilet en douche. Gite is omgeven door grote tuin met ruime schuur waarin o.a. de fietsen kunnen worden gestald. Tot zover niets dan goeds.
Echter de voorzieningen in de keuken waren absoluut ontoereikend in een gite die wordt aangeboden voor een bezetting door 9 personen. Onbegrijpelijk dat de verhuurder dit zo aanbiedt. Gelukkig begreep de dame die ons ontving dat het niet mogelijk is voor een groot gezelschap te koken met een paar oude steelpannetjes, 1 wat grotere pan en 1 koekenpan. Nog dezelfde avond heeft zij ons voorzien van 3 nieuwe pannen en 2 koekenpannen van de supermarkt. Hulde voor deze dame.
Het omringende landschap is prachtig en de omgeving is uitermate geschikt voor fietsers en wandelaars. Maar voor liefhebbers van
oude stadjes en dorpjes met marktjes, gezellige terrasjes en restaurantjes is er in deze regio weinig te beleven.
Suggesties voor de verhuurder:
. meer en betere informatie in de map bv over de plek van de thermostaat in de gite en over wat te doen met papier en karton
. locatie en openingstijden van bv bakker(s), supermarkt(en) , fietsenmaker
, de hoogte van de huurprijs neerwaarts bijstellen gezien het gebodene en afgezet tegen gites elders in Frankrijk.Jan Miedema from Markelo,

Mooi ruim huis en goede uitvalsbasis om de omgeving te verkennen. Meer dan genoeg slaapkamers en badkamers. Prima bedden. De ruimte buiten is prettig en goed omheind. Deze regio en de directe omgeving heeft helaas minder te bieden voor kinderen, maar als je binnen een uur rijden zoekt dan zijn er genoeg leuke en mooie plaatsen te bezoeken. De omgeving is erg rustig, de mensen vriendelijk en de stilte heerlijk. De buren zijn behulpzaam bij problemen en ook de contactpersonen voor het huis prima bereikbaar. De WiFi was af en toe wat eigenzinnig, maar de voorzieningen in het huis zijn verder prima voor elkaar. Aanrader!
