The house
Large and comfortable studio, with private bathroom, sitting area and free WIFI. There also is a kitchen (with fridge, coffeemaker, electric kettle, cooker, washing machine). With separate entrance, a private terrace protected by a hedge and a view of the garden, the pool and the parking. The pool is shared with the owners.
The studio is a part of the owner's house but is completely private.
This studio is a quiet and relaxing place, but still only 10 minutes away by car from the motorway (A61), from restaurants as well as shops.
L'Onida is not far from the abbey of Fontfroide, from Lagrasse, Narbonne, Carcassonne, the cathar castles, the canal du Midi and many other things worthwhile seeing. Lists with interesting sites, restaurants or addresses for wine tasting will be available.
There are numerous possibilities for hiking and biking in this region.

The village of Boutenac with about 800 inhabitants, offers a superette, the Vival (10 m from the house, they also have fresh bread and serve as post office), a butcher, a media library, a tennis court and a place to play pétanque.
Easy to reach from the highway (A61) via Lézignan-Corbières, and just 1 h driving from Toulouse (airport Blagnac), 1 h from Perpignan, 1h30 from Spain and 20 min from Narbonne (known for its gothic cathedral Saint Just et Saint Pasteur), 20mn from Carcassonne (one of the most beautiful fortified towns in Europe).
Various beautiful beaches are only 30 / 45 min driving away: Gruissan, Narbonne Plage, Leucate, Lapalme
The Corbières region is ideal for those who appreciate wine tasting (Boutenac is surrounded by châteaux and domains with good wines, like the well known Voulte Gasparets, only 5 min driving from the house).
Boutenac sits in the regional natural park of the "Narbonnaise" with villages like Peyriac de Mer and its interior lakes, Gruissan and the salt mines and great hiking trails. Ideal too for those who love history: abbey (Fontfroide, Lagrasse), de cathar castles (Château de Peyrepertuse, Quéribus), the Canal du Midi, de traces of the Romans etc. etc..

We hebben een fijne week gehad bij Ferry en Nicole. Het zijn zorgzame en gastvrije mensen. De ligging van de gite is centraal en de omgeving is prachtig. De gite zelf is comfortabel en groot genoeg voor 2 personen. Vanwege een kapotte pomp hebben we jammer genoeg geen gebruik kunnen maken van het zwembad. Hopelijk heeft Floris het euvel inmiddels opgelost en kan er weer gezwommen worden Dank voor de goede zorgen en handige tips Ferry, Nicole en Floris!

Een fantastische locatie. Een heerlijke "gite" voorzien van alle gemakken en benodigdheden en een heel goed bed. Gebruik van een groot zwembad die je helemaal voor jezelf hebt. Maar bovenal ontzettend aardige en belangstellende gastvrouw en heer, Nicole en Ferry.
Activities
In Lézignan (about 15 minutes by car) there are lots of shops and supermarkets and every Wednesday morning there is a lively local market.
The river Orbieu, 84 km long and winding through canyons, villages and vineyards, offers great swimming spots, for example in Lagrasse (with survey during high season) or in Ribaute, even more interesting because of the roman bridge, the cascades and the rocks.
The Corbières region is also ideal for hiking and cycling tours. You will find lots of signposted routes, even starting at Boutenac.
