The house
There are 2 separate gites on site, situated next to each other, making it ideal for 2 families to enjoy a holiday together - but retain their own space.
Gite 1: Twin room with en-suite and 1 double room with en-suite. Both en suites have showers. Perfect for those who like some privacy.
Gite 2: 1 twin and 1 double bedroom plus 1 shared bathroom with shower.
Each Gite has it own spacious kitchen and dining area with open plan lounge area. Both have their own furnished terraced area leading from the kitchen. You can also eat in the BBQ area where you can enjoy the stunning views.
There is a separate laundry room with ironing board, hoover, brushes, mops and bucket. Washing lines which are situated just outside for your convenience at the back of the Gites.

Les écologies occupies an elevated position overlooking the village of Cessenon sur Orb, a charming village on the dramatic river Orb, a renowned centre for canoeing and kayaking. At the center of the village the 14th century church overlooks a large public square, often used for concerts in the Summer.
Nearby bars and restaurants, are a place where you can sit back and enjoy watching the locals and visitors, in this intimate village of some 2,000 souls. Please contact us directly to book this property.
POOL AND TERRACE
We have a beautiful heated pool for early or late season swimming, private gardens, BBQ area and your own terrace to sit and marvel at the view over breakfast or a glass of wine, this property is in 2 gites on the same site. They are light and airy Gites, built on one level with high ceilings. The property offers an easy, comfortable stay for up to 8 guests.
Ecological heating cooling system -
The Gites have geothermic cooling and heating so is the perfect retreat at any time of year. We are planning to install aircon in addition in Gite 1 for 2020 and there is n dditional mobile aircon unit for the gites, as well as fans in each room for if it gets very hot. It is situated in a peaceful part of the village where you can decide whether to participate in the village activities or stay home and relax.

The gite is located in a quiet part of the village about a 10 minute walk away from the bars and restaurants. It is a short walk to the river which has a river beach.
We are approximately 15mins by car to the nearest large supermarket and 40 mins to the sea and beaches. Alternatively, 40/50 mins to gorges and the Caroux mountains and 1hr 30 to the historical city of Carcassonne.
Our nearest airport and train station is Beziers which is approx 40 mins by car.

Restaurants, food & wine
There are 3 main restaurants in the village and some extra seasonal restaurant/bars which open in summer months along the river. Food ranges from traditional french to pizza, mediteranean and local snack type food. There are gourmet restaurants within approx 40/ 50 mins drive and lots of other choices in neighbouring villages.
Wine tasting is everywhere!
The local markets sell delicious local produce if you are cooking at home and there is a small supermarket in the village for everyday needs. The local butcher is excellent!
We can also organise 'heat and serve meals' to be brought to the gites if you don't fancy cooking but want to stay at base.
Activities
You can hire good quality road bikes from our partners. Bikers are also welcome.
Other nearby activities include Kayaking, canyoning, visiting historical sites and of course, wine tasting! We can also organise Yoga classes for you if required with local Yoga teachers in either English, Swedish or French.
We can also organise sketching courses, massage ( inc Thai massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian head massages) and massage courses.

Although Cessenon does have a reasonable bus service, it doesn't go everywhere, so we recommend a car if you want to explore.

Pool heating up to 29 degrees is charged at 100 euros per week if required and not available between November and March.
