The house
Marvelous quiet freestanding cottage on 730 m2 land on 150 meters from the sandy beach of 11 kilometers long!
An ideal base for to de-stress form work and busy lifestyle, just sit and read in a lazy chair enjoying the quiet garden and listen to the waves of the sea. Since October 27th 2017, the house contains a new Barbas insert wood stove, great to enjoy a nice glass of wine after a walk on the beach. Because of the wood stove, the house is a good option to spend Christmas and New Year near the Sea side.
It is an ideal place to make excursions to the Channel Isles Jersey, Guernsey and Sark, the Mont St. Michel and visits to the D-Day landing beaches. Or just make some walks along the beach or hikes in the region.
In our house there are several hiking maps and a book with hiking trails. ( In French, not yet translated)
There is a BBQ to prepare your own caught (or bought) fish. For the lucky ones there is an opportunity to spot dolphins from Cap Le Rozel or take some pictures 's from seals at Cap Carteret.
Our garden contains a pick-nick table 3 deck-chairs, 2 benches with table and some extra garden furniture in the garage.
At every moment of a sunny day you can find a sunny as well a shady place somewhere in the garden

Free standing cottage on 730 m2 land, with a garden on South and lots of privacy in the back garden.
The cottage is situated on 150 meters from the sandy beach. The garden contains a pick-nick table, 3 deck chairs and two benches with tables. A BBQ is there to prepare your own caught (or bought) fish.
There are 2 bicycles with Bobike childrens seats to discover the neighborhood and to make a ride to the boulangerie or épicerie for fresh baguettes and vegetables.
In the village the boulangerie and épicerie on 800 meters distance sell daily fresh food.
During the night you can spot the study stars while there isn' t any lightpollution. Just take your flashlight to find a comfortable spot.

Wij hebben voor de 2 e keer een week op deze fijne plek mogen vertoeven. De rust , de ligging , de fijne tuin. We hadden geluk met het weer en konden elke dag buiten eten. Heel fijn dat er veel informatie te vinden is in het huisje over de omgeving. De eigenaar heeft zich enorm verdiept in de geschiedenis van dit schiereiland en dat is waardevol om te lezen. Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Sommige voorzieningen in het huis zijn wat eenvoudig ( douchen in bad , matrassen minder stevig) maar dat weegt niet op tegen al het andere. Wij kunnen dit huisje iedereen aanbevelen.

Great spot. Lovely big garden for the family to run around. About 300m from the beach as the dunes are now closed for access. The beach is huge and very sandy, it is very flat and so the tide rises and falls very quickly, so not great for swimming.
The chalet is comfy and very quiet. It was fitted out very well for us. All the signage is in dutch and so it is a little difficult to know how things work and what to do with waste, etc.
It is quite annoying that the basics are not provided such as toilet rolls, sheets, and kitchen towels/cloths.
There is a small food shop in the local village. The supermarkets are in Bricquebec as well as a Monday market.

Een prima huis, van alle gemakken voorzien. Alleen het sanitair is erg gedateerd. In bad douchen (hebben wijzelf niet goed gelezen) is niet meer van deze tijd en ondoenlijk met mijn ziekte (MS) en onze leeftijd (76 en 73).
Activities
The cottage is situated 150 meters from the sandy beach and during July and August the beach is controlled by beach guards from 11.00 hrs until 19.00 hrs. Also body board lessons can be taken at the beach during summer holidays.
Le chemin des Douaniers (Customs path) offers marvelous hikes along the coast.
