The house
A bespoke Gite, designed with the holiday maker in mind, yet with home comforts. Spacious, bright and exceptionally well thought out, with wood burning stove, 32” widescreen television and BBQ included, the master bedroom has a king size bed, with plenty of storage space, the second bedroom has two large single beds that are suitable for adults and children, again with plenty of storage. There is also a well equipped shower room with wc and wash hand basin.
The modern kitchen contains dishwasher, ceramic hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle and all items required for a comfortable holiday.

We are located 4km from Lonlay L`Abbaye, on a no through road Hamlet of only six houses, we are the last property in the Hamlet therefore very little traffic, generally the only passing flow is the local farmers in the tractors, and hikers and cyclists on the famous Pilgrim Trail, to Le Mont Saint Michel, that runs down the side of the house

Gite très calme, neuf, bien décoré, très propre, très confortable. Extérieur bien entretenu.
Beaucoup de choses à disposition dans la cuisine et la salle de bain.
Il ne manque pour dire rien comme équipement, sauf une essoreuse à salade !
Le petit poêle à bois est vraiment appréciable.
Hôtes discrets, disponibles, à l'écoute.

Een week gelogeerd bij John en Caroline in hun gite. Het huisje is echt van alle gemakken voorzien en ligt echt prachtig in een groene omgeving. Het ligt aan het einde van een kleine groep huizen waarbij er alleen bestemmings verkeer is dus heel rustig. Voor mensen die de rust zoeken een echte aanrader. John en Caroline zijn hele lieve mensen die voor alles open staan en daar gewenst je overal mee helpen. In de omgeving is alles op een kleine 3 tot 5 km in de buurt.

Even een weekje eruit. Vanuit Amsterdam een dag rijden en dan kom je in een schitterend heuvellandschap van Normandië. Er wacht een prettig huis, van alle gemakken voorzien. Zeer rustig gelegen. Lekkere schaduwpartijen zodat je kunt kiezen voor de zon. In het huis lag een boekwerk met tips voor leuke plaatsjes in de buurt. Die zijn we gaan ontdekken, met hun vele markten. Maar pas op: ook uitgestorven dorpen zonder enig vertier zoals terras of winkels. Alleen schoonheid. Het vertier zit in shoppingmalls. De eigenaren zijn zeer vriendelijke Britten en hebben 3 prachtige honden die je niet hoeft te ontmoeten. Maar als je wilt mag je ze aaien. Wifi was een probleem. Stukke apparatuur. Wordt vast opgelost. We hadden een heerlijke week in een prachtige, maar te droge natuur. Komt dat zien!
Restaurants, food & wine
In our local village at Lonlay L'Abbaye (4 km), there is a Tabac, Restaurant, Bouchers, Boulangeries, there is also a Biscuiterie which is open to the public for a tour and to purchase biscuits, whilst in Domfront, our closest town, which is 6 km from us there are two large supermarkets, plenty of Tabac's and Restaurants, also a local produce market on a Friday and is home to an assortment of shops.
Activities
There are many outdoor activities available locally, there is a very impressive golf course about twenty minutes drive, there is also water sports available locally, there is a man made beach about twenty minutes away, where you can swim in the huge lake, and build sandcastles on the beach, there is also a children's play area. We are about an hour from the famous Le Mont Saint Michel, France's largest tourist attraction, and also we are about fifty minutes away from Fougeres, with its breathtaking views and medieval Chateau. More locally we have the charming village of Lonlay L'Abbaye with its beautiful Historical Abbey, which is our closest village. We also have the Medieval town of Domfront with its Famous Norman Chateau ruins and beautiful gardens, with panoramic views of the surrounding forests and countryside, plenty of tabac's and restaurants, and also a local produce market on a Friday and is home to an assortment of shops.

We have stayed in many Gites in France over the years, and believe that we are offering something very special, this is our first year offering our Gite and plan to make every effort possible to ensure that people have a memorable stay and recommend us to their friends and family
