The house
La Normande is a spacious and bright gîte in the former stables of the Logis des Quatre Puits.
Ground floor:
Independent access. Living room with television and DVD player; open plan kitchen with fridge and freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, hob and electric oven, microwave and toaster.
A large bedroom with a double bed, a WC and a bathroom with shower.
First floor:
Large bedroom with double bed; two twin bedrooms; bathroom and WC.

The Logis des Quatre Puits is situated on a private estate of 25 hectares of meadows and woods.
On the estate, there are 5 guest rooms and three gîtes.
The gîte La Marquise is located in one of the wings of the main house, which dates back to the 15th century.
The estate is bordered by the river Palais. The guest house and gîtes have been beautifully restored to provide maximum comfort for guests.
The property is fenced, making it very suitable for children. There is ample parking.
There is a beautiful lake with a sandy beach and a restaurant 30 minutes walk from the property. You can swim there or rent canoes between April and September.
The small town of Montguyon, with all amenities, is only 5 minutes away by car.

There are several pleasant cafes and restaurants in the area.
The property is situated in the heart of the vineyards - be sure to sample the Cognac and Pineau during your stay.
There are local markets every day in the area. In summer there are also night markets with local produce and crafts.
Activities
On site we have a heated swimming pool, a games room with table tennis and a pool table. If you wish, we can also offer you walks on the estate. There are several bicycles available during your stay and a library with board games for those dull days.
The Lac de Beauvallon, with its sandy beach and restaurant, is only 5 minutes away by car (30 minutes on foot). You can rent canoes and there are games for children.
There is a 9-hole golf course 30 minutes away.
There is another lake with a cafe 10 minutes away, where you can hire jet skis and quads, or race on the Formula 3 go-kart track. There is also a horse riding centre in a castle which offers horse and pony rides.
There are many wine and cognac tasting venues in the area.
Take advantage of your stay to visit St Emillon (only 40 minutes away) or Aubeterre sur le Drone (45 minutes), one of the most beautiful villages in France where you can admire the largest monolithic church in Europe.
Finally, there are many local markets in the surrounding villages. You will find all the regional specialities.

Each gîte is very well equipped. Bed linen and towels are available at an additional cost.
Each house has a barbecue.
The terrace by the swimming pool is equipped with sun beds and parasols.
Logis des Quatre Puits is a large estate with 2 other gîtes and 5 guest rooms. All guests have free access to the garden and the heated swimming pool.
We can offer you our services to organise your receptions and family celebrations: we can accommodate 44 people on site.

Our family of 4 (including a 4 and a 9 year old) stayed in La Fanchon at the end of our summer holiday in 2018. Keith & John are the perfect hosts, friendly and with a wealth of information on the local area. La Fanchon is clean, quiet and felt like home. The facilities were perfect for us - the pool wonderful, the goats entertaining and the grounds made for wonderful exploring whilst picking blackberries.
The accommodation is fairly remote and quiet, which we loved, but accessible enough to explore the area; and there is plenty to see if you want to. Highlights for us included a visit to chateau de la Magdeleine with its quirky pram museum and local wines, a day lying on the beach at Beauvallon lake and a day trip to St Emilion, taking us through Pomerol some iconic French estates.
We'd highly recommend staying here, and would definitely consider visiting again the next time we head to South West France.

Wij, gezin met 4 kinderen in de leeftijd van 20 tot 11 jaar hebben een weekje bij John en Keith gelogeerd. We verbleven in een ruime gite met een fijn tuintje erbij. Leuk zwembad en een groot terrein om te spelen en zelfs een wandeling te maken. Hoewel wij geen veganisten zijn, hebben we genoten van de kookkunsten van Keith die we met alle gasten aan een lange tafel onder de bomen hebben genuttigd. John en Keith geven ook veel suggesties om de omgeving te verkennen. Bordeaux is een aanrader en is slechts een uurtje rijden van het domein. De omliggende wijnstreek is ook zeker de moeite waard te bezoeken. Wij hebben ook overnacht in het hoofdhuis, de B&B. Comfortabele kamers met dito bedden, leuk ingericht in Engelse stijl. Leuke vakantie in een rustige, mooie en groene omgeving met af en toe het geluid van een trein, maar niet storend!

gedurende een heerlijke warme zomer hebben mogen genieten van de prachtige gite, tuin en vooral niet te vergeten de geweldige gastheren keith en john. die met hun nimmer alflatende enthousiame het domein verzorgen en waar keith meer dan overheerlijke vega maaltijden voorschotelt. die we met alle gasten in de tuin aan een lange tafel onder de appel en peren bomen kunnen nuttigen met een heerlijke vegan wijn. . Hoeveel Franser zou je het willen hebben. De omgeving geeft genoeg ruimte voor zwemmen (zwembad en vlakbij gelegen meer) en wandelen. Alsmede kanoen en de max verstappen uithangen op de in de omgeving gelegen kart en echte racebaan. ook leuke uitstapjes naar de diverse wijngebeiden van bordeaux smaakt naar meer en een volgende keer. Zo ligt het domein van Ilja Gort binnen een uur reisafstand. Ook de stranden zijn haalbaar binnen een uur. Kortom genoeg verties en afleiding om aan het einde van de riante tuin van deze gite heerlijk bij te komen met wedero wijn en kaas. Om vervolgens bij John en Keith aan tafel aan te kunnen schuiven. Eigenlijk een plek om niet verder te vertellen, maar ach goed gastheerschap geef je graag door!
