The house
La Fleur holiday home is close to the towns of Mirambeau, Montendre and Jonzac, the beautiful fishing ports of the Gironde estuary and the beautiful beaches of the coast as far as Royan and beyond. It's an excellent location for a great Charente Maritime holiday. Bordeaux, Saint Emilion, Cognac, Saintes, Pons, Rochefort and La Rochelle are all within 1 hour's drive.
La Fleur has two bedrooms (1 with a double bed and 1 with two single beds) and a folding bed that can be added to the second bedroom. A cot is another option. There is a separate kitchen, a large living room with dining table and patio doors opening onto a private terrace with table and chairs. There is a lovely large swimming pool with comfortable sun loungers and direct access to the garden. In the large garden you will find a trampoline over 4 metres in diameter with nets (the children love it), as well as swings, a playhouse and other toys. There is also a collection of ball games, rackets, ropes and a petanque game. There's plenty of space for children to run around.

Here you are surrounded by vineyards and sunflowers, in a quiet little hamlet. The nearest village, where you'll find all the amenities, is about a kilometre and a half away, with the best bakery and delicious croissants!
There are lakes for swimming just 10 minutes away, and the nearest beach is a 35-minute drive away.

We hebben 10 dagen la Fleur geboekt. Op zich een prima gite maar wat tegenviel is dat in tegenstelling tot wat in de omschrijving stond geen wasmachine en fietsen aanwezig waren. Daarnaast werd het zwembad gedurende ons verblijf niet schoongemaakt. Normaal gesproken vinden we het prettig dat ook de eigenaren van de gite aanwezig zijn, maar die hebben we niet gezien. De ontvangst werd waargenomen door de zoon van de eignaren. Op zich geen probleem maar iets meer pesoonlijk contact vinden we prettiger.

We booked 10 days in La Fleur, the smaller of the two Gites. On arrival, we were met by Tanya who was very welcoming and friendly. La fleur was perfect for our family. Nicely decorated and with lots of lovely finishing touches making it look homely not like a holiday gite. It had every mod con going - Tanya had thought of everything! The welcome basket of goodies on arrival was a great help until we could get to the supermarket. The garden and grounds were meticulously maintained with the gorgeous pool area being very well received on hot summer days by all the family. Tanya and husband Paul have clearly put a lot of time and effort into running their business which is very evident. They deserve to succeed, and in our opinion, shouldn't change a thing! A fantastic holiday was had by us all! Can't wait to return.

We have just returned from 2 weeks here and it was fantastic. Lovely gites, well appointed and the owners were always so friendly and helpful. All the facilities needed were provided, and then some. We travelled with two children (4 and 2) and they were also well catered for with toys, games and dvds provided as well as a very safe spacious garden, lovely heated pool and the owners children who were lovely and played with our children beautifully. Would highly recommend.
Restaurants, food & wine
Het dichtstbijzijnde restaurant ligt op 3 km rijden, in Boisredon, maar in een aantal andere plaatsjes op maar 10 minuten rijden vind je een overvloed aan restaurants. De Gironde ligt op 15 minuten rijden en je vindt er een aantal heel leuke restaurants aan het water.
Activities
In the surrounding area you will find cycle paths and hiking trails through sunflowers and vineyards. You are 35 minutes from the nearest beach, where you can enjoy water sports.
A tennis court is 10 minutes away in Mirambeau.
