The house
2 bedroom, well appointed 4/6 person gite. Spacious kitchen leading to dining room and separate lounge with wood burner. From the dining area take the stairs to the mezzanine. The first of the 2 bedrooms straight ahead with ensuite and views over the countryside. Across the mezzanine to 2nd bedroom with family bathroom next door. There is a fouton , which can be used for another bed for one adult or small children on the mezzanine. The gîte offers a very open comfortable area and has TV, DVD ,and Wifi for those who need it.

We are situated in the charentais countryside, with views of a beautiful Chateau and surrounded by fields of a working Limousin cattle farm. The views overlooking the vienne valley are stunning. Chabanais , the nearest town within walking distance down a country lane, with all the amenities , bakers butchers banks supermarket. We are not far from the RN141, great access to Limoges airport and city , Angoulême and Cognac.
A great location for days out, coming back to the tranquillity of the countryside and private swimming pool and BBQ
The gite is only 15 minutes away from the Lacs de Haute Charente, fabulous lakes for swimming, sailing, water sports, bars,horse riding and great beach.
Limoges is only 25 -35 minutes by car with the international airport Belleguarde. Beautiful ancient porcelaine town with many sites to see.
Angouleme 40 minutes away again with loads to see and do.
Cognac a little further afield , but worth the visit, beautiful old town with all the cognac houses, great opportunity to taste the local drink.

Een hele leuke vakantie gehad in de gite. Deborah en Garry zijn de perfecte eigenaars, staan klaar met raad en daad. Ook erg behulpzaam. De gïte beschikt over alles wat nodig is voor een deugddoende, rustige vakantie . Heel rustig en toch dichtbij een dorpje. Mooie, afgesloten tuin, waar de honden en wij erg van genoten hebben. Wij hebben hier een mooie tijd beleefd en kunnen deze plaats zeker aanraden.

We recently had the fortune of staying at Gite Mastizon, France and very happy to offer this review.
Upon arrival, we were met by Deborah, who, was very welcoming & showed us into the gîte, and all that we needed to know. It was simple & easy.
The gite itself was extremly clean and homely, full of charm, with beams galore, a cosey lounge with woodburner with thoughtful additions such as games & puzzles. The kitchen was very well equipped& clean. It had everything you need from washing machine to oven to prepare your own meals.
Upstairs we found a cute mezzanine floor, overlooking the dinning area and 2 good sized bedrooms. The main bedroom had an ensuite bathroom with a bath(lovely for those colder days) and a really good shower, It even had heated towel rail for the towels!
The double bed was extremley comfortable & the balck out curtains allowed us a really peaceful good nights sleep, until we chose to wake and engage with the world. Great space for clothes too.
The area is typically rural france. Cows horses in fields adjacent,the property is found down a small lane eminating from Chabanais, a small rural french town with all the amenaties. Plenty of room to park , but we would reccomend you ditch the car for a while , and take walks or cycle into town, stop at the village for a coffee in one of the cafés, still baking everyday a small grocers, but also a supermarket not too far away.
Lots of walks, not to mention points of interest such as the WW2 occupation days and Roman spa.
And, for those days where you just wish to laze, theres a pool! We didn't get to use this as it was novemeber, but it would be amazing in the summer.
Deborah was brilliant to deal with & was happy to answer any of our questions during our months stay.
We would totally recommend this property

Wij hebben met onze tieners een heerlijke tijd gehad in het vakantiehuis.
Het is ruim en in de zomer lekker koel binnen. Het zwembad was mooi schoon.
In de buurt was voldoende te doen voor ons allemaal.
Onze hond kon lekker los in de tuin, en bij warm weer lag ze heerlijk op de koele vloer in huis.
De verhuurder is zeer vriendelijk in contact.
Restaurants, food & wine
There are many places to eat in the area , a few bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Fabulous food at LA BARRIERE just a 10 mins walk from the gite. For a special night , LE VIEUX MOULIN, a 10 mins drive, excellent food and great atmosphere.
MOULIN DE TARDOIRE, Montbron
We are in the cognac area of France , The local tipple being Pineau , originally the last crush of the grape after making cognac, can be purchased everywhere, well worth a try. and then there is the cognac, there are some very good local cognacs to try. As far as wine is concerned, Bordeaux is the nearest with saint Emilion close by, well worth a trip to both place.

All these activites are found at the La Guerlie Plage just outside Pressignac only 15 mins drive away; There is a great Beach, inflatables in the lac, plenty of activities and a great beach bar, serving food all day. Great VTT tracks to the beach too, so great to get the bikes out, if you dont have bikes, you can hire them from www.bikehiredirect.com and they will deliver them to the gite for your arrival.
There are walking trails near by, one actually goes past the gîte, VTT too. Walking into Chabanais is a great way to spend lunch in the local restaurant, La Barriere, just a 15 min walk.
Many areas for site seeing, Galo Romains ancient roman baths, a great afternoon out, walking around the ancient ruins of the roman baths, the biggest in France.
Many Chateaux, La Rochfaucauld is a must, fabulous chateau, open every day except Tuesday.
ancient towns of Angouleme and Limoges
Bordeaux and Saint Emillion only 90mins away.

Further remarks
this is a really quite relaxing place to visit, peaceful, spend your evenings listening to crickets , frogs and nightingales, depending on the season.

"We had a very nice holiday in Les Rossignols, an old and charming converted barn , which is what we expected having seen the foto's on the website. The house is old but comfortable and is very well ecquiped.
The garden and swimming pool were used frequently during the second week.
The surroundings are very beautiful and their is enough to see and do in the region.
And last but not least Deborah and Garry are very kind landlords. They gave us a warm welcome!"

We expect the property to be left as you find it. There will be a cleaning charge if the gite is not left clean and tidy.
HEATING
If you would like heating , there will be additional cost for the week of 50€. let me know if this is required and I will make sure it is on before you arrive.
WOOD
There is an additional cost for wood if required , of 65€ per cubic metre , the 1st cube included
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR
We will provide a christmas tree and decorate the gîte before arrival, please let us know if this is not required
