If you are looking for the best child-friendly holidays in South West France then look no further! Located on the sunny Charente / Dordogne border, Chateau de Gurat offers six child-friendly holiday cottages (or gîtes as they are called in France) for those wanting to experience the pleasures of rural France. The gites are set in the landscaped grounds of the picturesque chateau, which dates back to the 15th century and stands in 14 acres of meadows and woodland. L'Etable has lovely views across to the Chateau and the valley beyond. Large ground floor, upstairs family bathroom and master bedroom with en-suite.

Gurat is a charming little village on the Dordogne / Charente border, set within rolling hills of fields and woodland – and when the time is right sun flowers. It boasts its own monolithic church accessible via a pretty little walk along the tranquil Canal des Moulis. It’s a short drive away from Villebois-Lavalette with its picture-perfect castle and all amenities.

Mooie locatie, in een klein schattig dorpje. Idyllisch plekje om te arriveren na een lange rit. Leuk domein met tal van leuke plaatsen en activiteiten voor de kinderen en de gezinnen.
We werden goed ontvangen door Edward en Swantje!
In ons vakantiehuis l'etable was alles aanwezig voor een leuke week , enige grote nadeel is dat wij ongeloofelijk slecht geslapen hebben op de matras. Een dunne matras die zeker nood heeft aan vervanging, en die absoluut geen steun biedt. We zijn zeer moe naar huis vertrokken en tenslotte ga je op vakantie om ook uitgerust naar huis terug te keren wat in ons geval niet zo was.
Dit was het enige minpunt die ik kon vinden maar het is wel een hele dure vakantie als je na een week verlangt naar je eigen bed...Comment from Edward Boulderstone
Hi, thanks for the review. Following your comments about the bed at the end of your stay, we immediately replaced the mattress. We really appreciate the feedback as unless someone tells us we don't know that the mattress is uncomfortable.
