Set in half an acre of land with fruit trees, plants and lawns and surrounded by winding lanes and farmland, it makes the perfect location for large family or friend get-togethers (sleeps 10) and it comes complete with a covered all year round heated swimming pool, with inflatables, free Wifi, books, DVD's, bikes, fitness room, indoor and outdoor games, outdoor dinning areas, BBQ and gardens and an all year round heated outdoor infrared sauna. Our little part of south-western France also boasts 2400 hours of sunshine a year making it the second sunniest part of France and the perfect place to enjoy an all year round holiday and the peace and tranquility of country living but still be close to all that Poitou-Charantes has to offer.
This perfect, easy-to-reach location means there are so many wonderful things to do on your doorstep or slightly further afield. A leisurely stroll will take you into the local village for a coffee or to pick up a baguette or 10 mins along the road try Go Karting or the Parc Aventure with the kids, fishing at Pescalis or Moncoutant with its restaurants and market. Then just a little further away you can explore the beautiful cites of Niort, Poitiers and La Rochelle, go golfing at Bressuire enjoy the excitement of Futurescope, step back in time at Puy du Fou. The enchanting Farmhouse at La Blatière sleeps 6 and features a magical mezzanine master bedroom with exposed beams, an iron bedstead and en-suite. Enjoy long lazy days dining beneath the wisteria covered terrace, then light the wood burning stoves for cosy nights in.

The outdoor terrace with its pergola with grape vines and fairy lights is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while the sun goes down.

L’ABSIE - 3 KMs.
A 2min drive, 10 min cycle or 40min leisurely stroll along the country lanes brings you to our local village with its supermarket, shops, hairdressers, bakery, bars, restaurants, bank and post office. It has a village square and is centred on the remains of a medieval abbey, patronised by Eleanor of Aquitaine.

Enjoy the café terraces of the old town, then head to the banks of the Sèvre Niortaise or browse the morning and weekend markets and on Thursdays in July and August visit the Niort festival in the gardens of Le Roc windmill, a summer event for contemporary music.

LA ROCHELLE (1hr 15 mins)
La Rochelle is a historic Atlantic port city with medieval fortifications around the old port. The criss-cross of narrow streets, many of them closed to vehicles, are bordered by medieval and Renaissance houses, built in the distinctive local white limestone. The narrow streets are filled with bars and restaurants offering local specialities and cuisine from around the world. Wander round the port, enjoy the cafés and restaurants, visit the aquarium and perhaps take a boat trip to the Island of Ré,
O’GLISS PARC (1 hr 15mins)
Something for everyone - this water park has 12 giant water slides, 4 river rapids, wave pool, beach area and exotic gardens.
POITIERS (1HR 15MINS)
Recognised as the City for art and culture Poitiers is a University city and the regional capital of Charantes. Lovers of city rambles will enjoy discovering the picturesque narrow streets of the city and the half-timbered houses. Rich in art and culture, it offers over 3,000 shows throughout the year. There is something for every taste: dance, music, theatre and exhibitions as well as 30 festivals, historical and unusual museums, cinemas, as well as numerous galleries to explore.
VALLEE DES SINGES (VALLEY OF THE MONKEYS) (1HR 30 MINS)
Come and see over 400 primates in this 35acre wildlife park. Recognised for its conservation work at the Valley these beautiful primates wander freely amongst the forests, paths and streams enabling you to observe them in a natural environment and in their own social groups.
