The house
A very romantic little house on the courtyard, under the centuries-old lime and chestnut trees: that is La Talle in a nutshell. The flat consists of a living room with kitchenette and a bathroom with shower (130 cm and toilet). There is a sofa bed for two persons, a "pillow chair" that can be folded out to a cot and a baby bed can be added. La Talle can thus also serve as a "family room".
What makes La Talle so special is the bread oven (no longer in use) of which you can see the front in the room and the chimney under which food for the animals used to be cooked.
What makes it so special are the two terraces: on the west side, under the chestnut tree - where you can enjoy the evening light - and on the north side, where you can relax on the sunken terrace under the lime tree. There you will also find the (Weber) barbeque and a sun bed.
Of course guests of La Talle can also use the swimming pool!

Located in the south of Deux-Sèvres, in the heart of Poitou-Charentes, in a rural area, 500 metres from the sources of the river Sèvre Niortaise. A hilly area, with fertile red soil and deep lanes, which cross the area in large numbers and make hiking/cycling a fantastic activity. The small towns of Melle and Celles-sur-Belle ("petites cités de caractère") and the other special villages, towns and cities have a southern French character, not least because of the white limestone and the red roof tiles.
La Rochelle, the Marais Poitevin (the French Giethoorn) can be reached by car in respectively 45 minutes and an hour.

Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in gîte La Talle.
Als je houdt van rust, natuur, persoonlijke aandacht en een kleinschalige en echt Franse accomodatie, dan is dit De plek! Beer en Jan zijn lieve, hartelijke mensen, die alles doen om het je naar de zin te maken. Het huisje La Talle is klein, maar fijn en onder de gigantische kastanjeboom is het goed toeven en op je eigen terrasje zie je het Franse dorpsleven van La Grosse Talle aan je voorbij trekken. Mooie Franse dorpjes en dito wandelroutes in de buurt, dus alle ingrediënten voor een geslaagde vakantie. Een aanrader wat ons betreft!
Restaurants, food & wine
True to French tradition, the inhabitants of Deux-Sèvres love good food and drink. Typical regional dishes are the Farci Poitevin, the Tourteau Fromager, the Fouace from La Mothe-Saint-Héray...
The Deux-Sèvres has the largest goat population in France, and this is reflected in the large number of goat cheeses, one of which is an AOC (a second is on the way).
By the way: the Deux-Sèvres has the largest number of AOCs in France: two goat cheeses, one wine, Angélique de Niort and the Beurre d'Echiré!
Activities
The area is excellent for exploring by bike, on foot, on horseback, by car. There are marked walks everywhere (Sepvret is on the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella!).
The cities and towns are without exception worth a visit. An incredible number of Romanesque churches (on the list of monuments and Unesco World Heritage), the largest burial mounds in Western Europe and the modern museum of Bougon, castles and fortified towns, modern art of great quality, the large number of festivals and the typical French markets and "vide greniers" make a visit to the Deux-Sèvres a great holiday.

In addition to the La Talle flat, you can also rent a studio (2-4 people), a gîte (6 people), a furnished caravan (2 people) or come and stay at the small campsite (6 pitches).
