Welcome to the gîte of 'Ma Joie de vivre' (my joie de vivre)!
This is your chance to enjoy our luxury holiday home! Don't miss this unique opportunity to make lasting memories in this beautiful gîte.
New for 2024 is the swimming pool (5.5 x 3 x 1.2 m) with sun deck!
The gîte (110 m2) was the home of a farming family and is full of authentic elements. We welcome up to 6 guests in the gîte at Ma joie de vivre.
In the gîte you will find a cosy living-dining kitchen. The kitchen has a cooker, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, etc. The living room has a sofa and round table.
On warm days, you can enjoy the lovely private garden with large dining table, lounge set, bbq and a jeux de boules court. In the adjacent 'meadow' is a swimming pool with sun deck and a cosy fire pit above which you can also cook.
On the ground floor there is one double bedroom with spacious bathroom with shower. There is also a separate toilet.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms. One bedroom is a spacious room for two persons, a cot can be placed here on request. The second bedroom is a cosy room for two persons. In addition, on this floor there is a second bathroom with toilet and shower.
The house stays nice and cool in summer thanks to its thick walls and in winter the warmth of the wood-burning stove stays inside. The large 1834 fireplace houses a lovely wood-burning stove that keeps you warm in winter. In addition to heating by the stove, there is also electric heating in every room.
The travel distance from Utrecht is about 900 kilometres. The last 50 kilometres from Limoges is easily accessible Provencial road through the French countryside. The train is also an option. Limoges has a fast train connection to Paris. Transport can be arranged for the last 50 kilometres to the holiday home.

Electricity is generated by solar panels.
You have the choice of using water from the well or from the municipal water supply.
There is free internet via Wi-Fi and a TV with Chromecast available.
All beds can be set apart to two single beds on request.
There is also a pantry/storage room with washing machine, iron, ironing board, laundry basket and clothes rack.

The gîte is located next to our residence and is in a quiet hameau. The distance to Jumilhac-le-Grand is 5 km and Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche 7.5 km.
In Jumilhac-le-Grand there is an old defensive castle which can be visited. There is also a weekly local market and several hiking trails through the forest. There is also a shallow river where one can cool down in summer. In the forest, one can do archery and bouldering.
Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche is a large village including several shops, several large supermarkets, Mac Donald's, swimming pool and hospital. There is also a weekly food market with fresh, local produce and music in the summer months.
In the further surroundings (max. 1 hour drive) there is the possibility to play golf, visit caves, canoe, water-ski, wakeboard, swim, hike, mountainbike and there is a velo-rail. Furthermore, for enthusiasts, there are several opportunities to visit châteaux and brocante markets.

Prachtige gite in een zeer rustige, landelijke omgeving waarin daadwerkelijk alles aanwezig is.
De bedden zijn perfect, het is erg schoon en douche is om onder te blijven wonen.
Buiten is er meer dan voldoende gelegenheid om (privé) te relaxen in de loungehoek onder een prachtige boom of te eten aan de zeer ruime eettafel.Karin en Patrick zijn méér dan alleen gastvrouw-heer maar doen alles voor je om het verblijf zo prettig mogelijk te maken.
Van tips wat er te doen is tot een gezellige borrel bij het kampvuur.
Laten we vooral ook de 2 zeer vriendelijke viervoeters Fimm en Mila niet vergeten die regelmatig een knuffel kwamen halen.Al met al een gite waar wij een perfecte vakantie genoten hebben!

Restaurants, food & wine
Ma joie de vivre lies in the 'Perigord-Vert'. Where 'Foie gras' and 'canard' (duck) are specialities.
In high season, Jumilhac-le-Grand has a local market every Sunday. In Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, this is on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. In addition, in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche there is also a local food market every Thursday evening.
Activities
Near the holiday home is a large garden with the possibility of relaxing in one by the pool. There is also a possibility of barbecuing, table tennis, campfire and petanque. The yard includes a spacious fenced meadow where dogs can play and run free.

Further remarks
In the months of January to April and October to December, it is possible to rent the gîte for a longer period. Send us a message for the possibilities.
Additional price info and offers
Towels for showering, kitchen linen and bed linen included. Bath towels for swimming etc. bring your own.
For dogs, we charge €3 per night per dog.
During the months of October to May, kilowatt hours used in excess of 40 per day will be charged. The standard rate is €0.30 per kWh.
