The house
On about two hectares, in the heart of a peaceful hamlet, the Domaine Le Repaire is composed of an 18th century manor house and two spacious and comfortable semi-detached houses. These two houses are available for rent. They will allow you to go on vacation with your family or friends, to spend convivial moments, while keeping your intimacy thanks to their own private spaces.
Surrounded by the hilly landscape of the Perigord Vert, the Domaine Le Repaire will become a refuge of tranquility and nature during your vacations.
The description of the gîtes Chez Mimi and Chez Misja is as follows:
- Chez Mimi (6 persons, 115 m2)
On the ground floor there are three bedrooms. Two rooms with two double beds and one room with two single beds. There is also a bathroom with shower, bath and toilet. Sheets and towels will be provided for you. The presence of these rooms on the ground floor allows the guests to enjoy the coolness offered by the old houses, which is very appreciated during the hot summer days.
On the first floor, you will arrive in a kitchen/dining room area. The space is comfortable with a large table that can accommodate up to 6 people. The kitchen is fully equipped (refrigerator, gas stove, washing machine and all the necessary dishes and kitchen utensils). You will also find a very spacious and well equipped living room. In summer, the stone walls will protect you from the heat and in winter you will enjoy your evenings by the wood stove.
Board games, books, a hi-fi system and a television are at your disposal.
- Chez Misja (4 persons, 80 m2 )
This is an intimate and comfortable house.
This house will be perfect for 4 travelers (with the possibility of adding an extra bed)
On the ground floor there are two bedrooms with 1 double bed and 2 single beds. There is also an extra room (less than 7 m2) that can be used as a checkroom or as an extra bedroom if you need to sleep more. You will also find the bathroom with shower, bath and toilet.
On the first floor, with its magnificent exposed framework, the living space offers a fully equipped kitchen opening onto a living/dining room with a wood stove.
Board games, books, a hi-fi system and a television are at your disposal.
Chez Misja has a spacious terrace and a large enclosed garden with a beautiful view over the valley below.
The two houses have their own terrace, garden, garden furniture and barbecue. The kitchens are fully equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, utensils, dishes, washing machine and ironing facilities.
These cottages have been tastefully restored while preserving the typical Périgourdine style.

Located in the heart of a preserved nature where absolute tranquility reigns, the Domaine du Repaire is surrounded by hilly and varied landscapes. Nearby, you will find beautiful forests, meadows, flowered valleys and rivers. The property stands in a peaceful hamlet, only 2 km from the village of Mareuil en Périgord known for its famous castle, with all the local shops (grocery store, bakery, butcher, pharmacy, supermarket,...). You can visit its farmers' market every Tuesday morning.
Mareuil en Périgord is located close to the famous medieval city of Brantôme, at the gates of the Perigord Limousin Natural Park. Brantôme has been named the Venice of Perigord. You will be able to visit the remains of the troglodytic monastery and the enigmatic cave of the Last Judgement. The city center is made of tiny narrow streets, small shops and craftsmen, flowered bridges crossing the canals and beautiful cottages with medieval facades.
Many activities can be practiced, such as canoeing, fishing, swimming, boat cruises and hiking.
The surrounding villages are dynamic and offer great opportunities for visits, including Verteillac and its flea markets, Nontron and its famous cutlery, Ribérac and its large outdoor market. Aubeterre-sur-Drôme, one of the most beautiful villages in France, is only 40 minutes away. Don't miss to visit its monolithic church, its historical center and its riverside amenities.
The large historical cities of Périgueux and Angoulême are also very close by. Both are lively cities with many stores and beautiful museums.
Prehistory is also in the spotlight in the Périgord, with the famous caves of Villars (30 minutes away). From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, experience the castle life in Bourdeilles, Mareuil and Puy Guilhem. To the North-East, the villages of La Chapelle-Faucher and Saint-Jean-de-Côle are also definitely worth a visit.
For wine lovers, a visit to Saint-Emilion and Bergerac is highly recommended.
The most adventurous can also discover the Périgord Noir and the famous Lascaux caves or visit the medieval town of Sarlat.
Finally, castles, museums, caves, abbeys, natural sites, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking, mountain biking, cultural activities are all things to do near Domaine Le Repaire.

Heel fijne plek - we hebben beide gites gehuurd (twee families). Veel privacy. Prachtig zwembad en uitzicht. Niet toeristisch deel van Dordogne noord. Ontzettend vriendelijke gastvrouw Emilie en gastheer.

Wij hadden met ons gezelschap beide gîtes Chez Mimi en Chez Misja gehuurd (gezin van 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen van 1,5 en 4 jaar, en 'opa en oma'). Er was voldoende ruimte in en om de gîtes voor iedereen. Als je beide gîtes huurt heb je alle faciliteiten op het terrein voor jezelf. Emilie en haar man wonen naast de gîtes in het grote huis en zijn dus altijd dichtbij/bereikbaar. Ze zijn heel vriendelijk en gastvrij, en ook enorm behulpzaam. Het was een heerlijke vakantie op een mooie, rustige plek, en we komen graag nog een keer terug!

Nous avions très hâte depuis des semaines pour notre séjour avec toute la famille et un enfant ! Chacun d'entre nous, nous avons vraiment apprécié cet endroit incroyable. Émilie est très attentionnée, nous n'avons manqué de rien. Les gîtes étaient propres et tout était très bien meublé avec de beaux accessoires attrayants. Tout était bien pensé ; le lit de la petite était déjà prêt et il y avait même de jolis jouets pour rendre la chambre confortable. Les gîtes sont situés dans un domaine très calme. La piscine était super et très utilisée de notre part ! La table de ping-pong n'est pas non plus passée inaperçue, nous avons même organisé un tournoi pour la semaine ! Dans les gîtes, il y avait beaucoup d'information sur ce qu'on pouvait faire dans la région, tout le monde y a trouvé son compte ! Nous sommes rentrés à la maison avec un sentiment satisfaisant et nous avons créé de merveilleux souvenirs cette semaine-là. C'est gîtes sont fortement recommandés ! 🙂
Restaurants, food & wine
You will be able to taste the famous Bergerac wines such as Pécharmant and Monbazillac, or the famous Saint-Emilion wines in the Bordeaux region (do not hesitate to organize a guided tour with a tasting).
As Charente region is very close by, you will also be able to taste excellent Cognacs and Pineau des Charentes.
The culinary specialties are also very present (foie gras, black truffle, walnuts, mushrooms). The good restaurants of Mareuil and Brantôme will satisfy the most demanding gourmets.

Additional price info and offers
The indicated prices apply to the rental of the 5 cottages. They include cleaning at the end of the rental period, the supply of linen and towels, gas, water, electricity, Wifi. If needed, an extra bed can be made available. Animals can be accepted on request (after acceptance) for an extra charge to be determined.
There is a deposit of 250 € per week of stay and per cottage to be given to us upon arrival (this sum will be cashed only if necessary).
