Welcome to Beaux Souvenirs, a charming and unique adult-only gite. As owners, we are thrilled to share with you our on-site fashion museum, a one-hour guided tour that showcases the evolution of 20th-century women's fashion. It's a fascinating experience that our guests absolutely love.

Our gite is located in a 19th-century stone-built coach house, surrounded by a beautiful garden filled with fruit trees, herbs, and vibrant flowering plants. Within this serene oasis, you'll find a private 12m x 6m swimming pool exclusively for the use of Beaux Souvenir occupants. It's the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun.

We also provide secure parking right by the front door for your peace of mind.

Inside, our gite offers a delightful blend of old and new, vintage and modern decor. The large, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides ample space for you to unwind after a long day. You'll also find a smart TV where you can catch up on your favourite shows.

Upstairs, there are two beautiful double bedrooms with incredibly comfortable king-size beds, making our property ideal for couples or individuals who prefer their own space. On the ground level, you'll discover a stunning bathroom with twin vanity units, a toilet, and a spacious walk-in shower. We even provide quality cotton bed linen, towels, and pool towels for your convenience.

Step outside through the French doors in the kitchen, and you'll find a shaded patio area with an outdoor table, lounging chairs, and a barbecue. Additionally, we have a delightful herb garden that guests are welcome to use during their stay.

And finally, with our gite's peaceful surroundings, you can expect crystal clear air and a night sky illuminated by countless stars. It's the perfect setting for relaxation and complete tranquillity.

We can't wait to welcome you to Beaux Souvenirs, where comfort, style, and a touch of history await you.

Lovely gite, really well-cared for and stylish-lived the personal touches ( Napoleon, fashion...) Helpful and friendly hosts - there when needed, but left us alone to enjoy the village, food and location. Great tips on places to visit too - very helpful! Would thoroughly recommend the gite to friends and family. Thank you!

Restaurants, food & wine

There are many local restaurants within a ten-minute car journey from family-run bistros and outdoor pizza ovens to the sampling the classic Perigord Menu at the nearby Logis Hotel in La Coquille. For those that like fine dining within an hour's journey there are 5 Michelin one-star restaurants with the nearest in Brantome just 30 minutes away. Mialet has a superb pizza van cooking delicious fresh pizza to order on a Friday evening, perfect for those who don't wish to cook on their last night.

This area is famous for its food from the Limousin beef ( as sold by the village butcher), chestnuts, strawberries, duck, foie gras, Black Truffles, madeleine cakes and much more. Local food can be bought at markets with the largest and most famous at Piegut Pluviers 30 minutes drive. This market which runs through the village streets, is located on the border of the Charente region, so you can look out for the sweet Charente melons as well as the world-famous Charente slippers, great gifts to take home.

Activities

Located in the North Dordogne, there are plenty of activities to enjoy in the area such as horse riding, fishing, hiking, cycling, and golf. Just under 2km away from the village is the Barrage de Miallet, a stunning man-made reservoir and bird sanctuary. You can take a leisurely 9km walk around the lake, relax at the picnic benches, and admire the sunset over the water as the day comes to a close. Miallet village is nestled in the heart of the Perigord/Limousin Regional Nature Park, a paradise for food enthusiasts. You can explore farms, witness cheese-making, discover honey production at a bee farm, taste local ales at the brewery, visit a snail farm, and indulge in fois gras. During the winter, you can even join the hunt for the renowned black truffles. For those who love a good deal, there are weekend car boot sales and antique markets to explore, as well as factory outlets for high-end fashion and porcelain. Additionally, there are various festivals and fairs celebrating different aspects of French culture, from vintage to strawberry-themed events. Further remarks

There is so much to explore in this area! Within a short drive, you can visit castles, caves with prehistoric art, and charming villages like Brantome, known as the Venice of the Perigord. If you venture a bit further, you'll discover two historic cities. Perigueux is famous for its stunning cathedral, designed by the same architect as the Sacre Coeur in Paris. The medieval streets are filled with unique shops, including delicious handmade chocolate and cake shops. Don't miss the Roman museum showcasing the remains of a merchant's house. And in Limoges, the heart of the porcelain industry, you can admire the world's largest collection of porcelain at the museum!
