The house is located in the Haute-Vienne department less than 2 km from the Dordogne, centrally located in the
Parc naturel régionel at about 900 kilometres from Utrecht.
The house has a spacious semi-enclosed terrace on the south with table and chairs, parasol and a barbeque.
Large fully fenced private garden with heated swimming pool (from 1 June) of 8 by 4 meters, six sun beds, children's playhouse and a picnic table.
Very sunny and there is always a shady spot to find under the beautiful old chestnut trees where you can also use the Jeu de Boules court.
View into the woods, but also to the meadows and fields on the hills.

We hebben 14 dagen samen met onze hond vakantie mogen vieren in La Salamandre. Een super ontvangst door Yvette die je gelijk alles laat zien en gedurende de vakantie voor je klaar staat mocht je vragen hebben.
Wat hebben we genoten van het huis, de tuin en de omgeving! Je kan in de omgeving heerlijk wandelen, alles is in het huis aanwezig en je kunt in de tuin altijd wel een schaduwplekje vinden om te genieten van het heerlijke weer en kan afkoelen in het zwembad.

Amazing house, very nice location. Quiet environment. Pool is large and well taking care of.
Very close to the village of Chalus.
Yvette is a very kind woman and very standby in case of questions.Upper room can be a little hot for children

We hebben een fantastisch verblijf gekend. Een huisje met alles er op en eraan.
Alles proper en heel verzorgd.
Yvette en Robin hebben ons heel goed ontvangen en ervoor gezorgd dat alles tip top in orde was.

Een heel rustige omgeving waar we hebben kunnen gaan wandelen , lopen en fietsen. Ook enkele plaatselijke markten bezocht.
Ook onze hond heeft zich kunnen uitleven in de grote volledig omheinde tuin.Het was er top en wij hopen zeker nog eens terug te gaan.

Restaurants, food & wine

We are on the border of the "Perigord Noir" area which is famous for truffles, foie gras, nuts and the famous Perigord cuisine and fine wines.
There are many weekly markets, one of which is held on Wednesday mornings in Piegut Pluvier , it is large with lots of stuff, food such as cheese, sausages, meat, poultry and French.
Also in Chalus, there is a smaller market on Fridays and a large market every 2nd Thursday of the month.
Activities
In the vicinity you will find the Richard Lionheart Route with its many beautiful castles to visit.
There are a number of swimming lakes with several facilities, three golf courses within 50 km, an amusement park, a zoo and of course a beautiful area for walking.
You will also find many old villages with nice terraces and restaurants and the beautiful cities of
Limoge and Périgueux.
In LA GROTTE DE VILLARS you will find about thirty small paintings and engravings; more than 15,000
years old.

Even in winter this is a comfortable house because of good insulation and besides the electric heating a good wood stove with enough wood available!
