The house
Welcome to Mas de Dompierre, an authentic, restored farmhouse in the Limousin where Mireille can offer you a carefree holiday. The Mas is rented completely privately as holiday accommodation. So absolute privacy guaranteed!
The farmhouse dates from 1881 and was restored in 2001, retaining all its original features. The interior walls are covered with clay and lime and breathe the atmosphere of yesteryear. The centrepiece of the house is the living room with open kitchen. A large cosy wood-burning stove. At the back of the mas is a large terrace with fixed BBQ that connects to the swimming pool and a small built-in children's pool. There is also a small sandy beach where the youngest holidaymakers can play nicely or the bigger ones can dream away in paradise. You also have the option of renting bikes to explore the region. A wood-fired hot tub is installed in a pleasant spot on the terrace. Its rates and use can be discussed on site.
Pets are welcome and can roam the grounds to their heart's content. At the back of the 1ha garden, with an old orchard, a small playground has been installed as well as some goals where one can enjoy playing football. A central spot is also provided for making a campfire. As the Mas is slightly higher up on the property, it has breathtaking views over the valleys, meadows and forests. The land of milk and honey!
The holiday home:
The ground floor consists of a living room with wood-burning stove, an open kitchen with a large gas cooker, a dining room and a separate bathroom. The kitchen is also equipped with all cooking utensils gas cooker with electric oven and microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, American fridge, toaster, ...
On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms, one of which has an adjoining bathroom (Master Bedroom), equipped with a double bed (160 X 200). Opposite this bedroom there are 2 bedrooms, one with two separate beds (80 x 200) and one with a double bed (160 x 200). There is also a children's room with two adjustable children's beds (80 x 210). To be used for children up to 12 years old. These rooms can use the bathroom adjacent to the Master Bedroom with a separate entrance on the corridor or one can use the bathroom on the ground floor.
The attic floor has its own bathroom with sink, toilet and walk-in shower (100 x 120). It is one large room with two double beds (160 x 200). There is also the possibility of placing cots. We have 1 cot available whose bottom is adjustable.

Mas de dompierre is located in a small hamlet "Cros sud" that is part of the village "Dompierre-les-Eglises". Cros consists of about 20 houses where time has stood still. It is a quaint little hamlet amidst vast, hilly countryside, forests and lakes. In fact, the Haute Vienne is a region that is very green with many rural villages. It is also a quiet region where tourism has not yet caught on and where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful nature. Haute-Vienne is one of the three departments of Limousin, located next to Creuse and Corrèze. Cros is in the middle of three large natural parks. To the south are the parks regional Perigord- Limousin and Millevache en Limousin. To the north, Cros borders the Brenne Natural Regional Park. The area is known as the green heart of France! There is still plenty of space and peace, even complete silence can still be found here. There is also an important heritage of architecture and art in the many Romanesque religious buildings, fortified castles, medieval towns and the famous tradition of porcelain and leather working.

Deze afgelegen woning is ideaal om tot rust te komen in het bijzijn van je familie en huisdieren die alle plaats hebben om te ravotten. De enige spelbreker was enkele dagen het slechte weer . De woning is voorzien voor alle mogelijke weersomstandigheden. nl boeken ,spelletjes voor groot en klein, fietsen en hottube . zwembad bij mooi weer . ook voor een aperitiefje is een grote frigo met ijsblok maker, chrunch ijs of water.

Dit was een schitterende vakantie. We verbleven er met 7 volwassenen en 4 kinderen. Voor iedereen plaats genoeg. De winkels zijn wel wat ver weg, maar dat wordt gecompenseerd door 2 grote frigo's: 1 Amerikaanse grote frigo in de keuken en 1 grote frigo in de schuur waar het automatisch al koeler is en je veel drank kan opslaan. Het restaurant in het dorp op anderhalve kilometer waar je je brood en/of koeken kan bestellen en afhalen 's morgens (bij een enorm vriendelijke eigenaar) is ook een pluspunt. Eigenaars Mireille en Wijnand zijn super vriendelijke mensen waar je altijd terecht kan met vragen. Alleen voor die mensen zou je al willen teruggaan. We zijn allemaal met spijt in het hart daar vertrokken.

Dat is het juiste woord. Alles van de eerste communicatie tot aan het einde van onze vakantie was top. Schitterend huis, fantastische tuin, enorm vriendelijke eigenaren, compleet ingericht, super omgeving. Hier komen alle ingredienten voor een top vakantie samen. Zowel voor de kinderen als onszelf was dit een plek die ons helemaal tot rust heeft gemaakt. Ik kom al ruim 20 jaar naar Frankrijk en omdat ik het land wil ontdekken altijd op andere plekken, maar deze Mas zal de eerste zijn waar ik terug naar toe zal gaan.

In " Le Dorat" a small village about 17 km from Cros, the delicious "MARCHES DE PRODUCTEURS" are organised every Thursday during the summer months (July and August). Local farmers and traders in meat, dairy and vegetables display their best wares. These are displayed in various stalls in the market square. You can buy limousin beef and local vegetables at very democratic prices. And if you don't feel like preparing everything at home...they will prepare it for you! There are several BBQ,s where you can have your meat roasted. Large tables are set, plates and cutlery are provided...conviviality prevails!

Hiking and cycling
Of course, this region lends itself enormously to organising extensive small and/or large walks and cycling routes. There are various routes that take you to idyllic, nostalgic and romantic places. Staff maps and various walking and cycling maps are available from us free of charge. We have our own bicycle rental service.

and is about 37 km south of Cros.
WATER SPORTS:
Given the many lakes nearby, fishing is a popular sport, as well as water-skiing, kayaking, etc.

A reservation is final upon receipt of 50% of the total rental fee.
A booking is final upon receipt of the remaining rental sum, no later than 6 weeks before the start of the stay.
Pets are only allowed after consultation. Price per dog, per week: € 10,00
A deposit of € 350.00 to be paid on arrival.
Compulsory cleaning: €105.00.
Dogs are welcome...however, they do not belong in the bedroom!
The pool is regularly cleaned as well as checked for PH ed.
During the winter months or in cooler seasons - when the fireplace and/or central heating is working, there is a surcharge for their use. This is at the cost of the current energy rates.
Optionally, bath linen can also be hired: €8.00 per set.
Bicycles can be rented at 12.00 euro per day per bicycle, 50.00 euro per week.
Hot tub is for rent per week stay at 80.00 euro, plus 10 euro per time you heat the hot tub for the wood.
