The house
L'Hoste is a fantastically furnished 4 star house situated in the northern part of the Lot et Garonne bordering the Dordogne. Also during Covid-19 it is justified to stay here, the house is kept very hygienic and clean by the managers. The house has 4 double bedrooms suitable for up to 8 adults. Both the house and the swimming pool with terrace have been completely modernised and renewed. There is a private heated swimming pool. At the pool is a separate gite with living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The gite is also equipped with air conditioning. There are several terraces, two of which are covered. The house also has a luxury barbecue. From the terraces you have a view of the swimming pool and the surroundings. Next to the house is a plum orchard and you have a wide view of hills and sunflower fields (seasonal).
The house has a spacious living room with a loft and an open kitchen.
On the ground floor there are also two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom and a separate toilet.
On the top floor is a fourth bedroom adjacent to the mezzanine and a modern bathroom. This bedroom is also equipped with air conditioning.
There is a carport for two cars and a large parking area.
Also in early spring and autumn is a good place to stay because there is a central heating system. The living room also has a wood-burning fireplace.

L' Hoste is situated in the northern part of the Lot et Garonne (department 47) bordering the Dordogne. The surroundings consist of a really beautiful hilly area with orchards and fields of sunflowers and corn. From the terrace you have a view of over 20 kilometres. In the surroundings you will find beautiful picturesque bastides (fortified villages), founded in the Middle Ages. Beautiful examples are Pujols, Monflanquin, Penne d'Agenais, Villereal and Monpazier. In the vicinity you will find various castles such as Chateau de Biron, Chateau de Bonaguil and the Chateau de Monbazillac. There is a beautiful undulating golf course at Castelnaud-de-Gratecambe at 4,5 km.
In the village of Cancon you can buy bread and other groceries (4,5 km). In Villeneuve sur Lot (16 km) there are a number of larger supermarkets such as Auchan and Le Clerq. The provincial capital is Agen. The Lot et Garonne has not yet been discovered by tourism. The department has a slightly sunnier climate than the Dordogne and there is less rain.

Perfecte accommodatie. Goed verzorgd, mooie omgeving en een heel mooi zwembad. 2 tips voor de verhuurder. Een in airco in elke slaapkamer zou prettig zijn. En een slaapkamer met twee aparte éénpersoons bedden, zou ook fijn zijn. Nu moesten de kinderen samen in één bed. Super bedankt voor de goede zorgen!

Wat een heerlijk huis, het heeft ons aan niks ontbroken! De ligging is adembenemend en het is er heerlijk rustig. Je hoort niks anders dan krekels en vogels. Af en toe hoor je de boeren die aan het werk zijn, maar dat is logisch en heeft ons niet gestoord. De ontvangst was prima en vriendelijk. De beheerders zijn betrokken, maar niet opdringerig. Het huis was brandschoon, het zwembad werd goed onderhouden en de tuin lag er keurig bij. Het enige nadeel was het gebrekkige internet. Met twee pubers is dat niet ideaal.

We hebben een schitterend vakantie gehad, een huis met alles erop en eraan alles was werkelijk aanwezig. Lakens & handdoeken worden wekelijks vervangen, het zwembad wordt goed onderhouden 2x per week. En de mensen daar zijn super lief en zeer behulpzaam als er iets aan de hand is. Dit was een vakantie voor herhaling vatbaar we hebben mooie stadjes en marktjes bezocht in de buurt. En je kunt er genieten en tot rust komen.
Een aanrader voor als je in een rustige omgeving een vakantie wil doormaken. Bedankt voor alles het was dik inorde.

Restaurants, food & wine
Wine is of course part of France. The Lot et Garonne has 4 smaller wine regions and around Cahors is a wine region along the Lot with no less than 52 chateaux. The vignobles of Cahors, like those of Bergerac and Monbazillac, are 30 minutes away by car. At the Chateau de Monbazillac you have a beautiful view over the surroundings of Bergerac.
In the culinary field there are many nice restaurants where you can eat. Some tips:
In Monflanquin: "Le Jardin", an excellent restaurant. Furthermore, "L'Effet 1msidon" and "Le Prince Noir" are good. In Monpazier: "Eleonore", belonging to hotel "Edward I" with Dutch owners and "Bistrot 2" are recommended.
An excellent but very affordable Italian restaurant in Villeneuve sur Lot is "Casa Pietro". This is also recommended. Also "L'ecluse" on the west side of Villeneuve sur Lot, situated along the Lot, is recommended.

Activities
Peace and quiet are the two key words. In our house, you can leave all the hustle and bustle and stress of the Netherlands behind you. There is also plenty to do. It just depends where your interest lies.
Golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, canoeing, visiting bastides and castles, visiting castle gardens. But also museums, caves, food markets, art with a capital > the studio and museum of Zadkine and a visit to the wine regions around Cahors and Bergerac are among the possibilities. For the (small) children the "Parc en Ciel" at Lacapele-Biron and "Walibi" at Agen are nice days out.

Additional price info and offers
The rent includes all bedding and linen, which is changed once a week. The final cleaning fee of €150 is not included. The municipal tax at €1.30 per person per night is also not included. Children are exempt from the municipal tax. A baby bed is available at an additional cost of €25 per week.
The house is not equipped with a charging station for your electric car. Charging on the house's power grid is expressly not allowed. The power grid is not designed for this. However, there are several charging stations in the vicinity, for example at the larger supermarkets.
