The house
Holiday home "La Bouchonnière (= the cork maker)" one of a total of 5 holiday homes on the 'green' holiday domain and former craftsmen's village Le Mayne de Boulède, located on a 3-hectare hill.
These three holiday houses are accommodated as so-called "semi-detached houses" in a former very large farm (a building 38m long) consisting of living quarters, barns, stables, etc. The privacy of each house is optimally guaranteed by realising the entrances, the (covered) terraces and the private gardens completely opposite and far apart from each other.
La Bouchonnière and the other house Le Vigneron share the 2nd swimming pool of 11 x 5m, with spacious terraces, loungers, hammock, etc. This pool is located 30m away, at the back of these gîtes, intimately sheltered by trees and greenery all around.
Both houses are completely, practically and tastefully furnished, similar to Le Menuisier and Le Forgeron de Boulède and of course equipped with the characteristic veranda (covered terrace) or patio, which is a great place to be in all weathers. There are also the retained original details of the houses such as a fireplace, old built-in cupboards, tiled floors, a bread oven, etcetera. All this combined with modern comforts such as dishwasher, washing machine and the like, and an eye for rustic, attractive and solid finishes throughout the house.
Because this house has all rooms and terraces on the ground floor (!), the house is also very suitable for the disabled holidaymaker as well as for families with very young crawling, or just standing / walking children who are exploring (no stairs to fall down). We have taken into account the width of doorways and other passages throughout the house for free movement, based on specialised information (accessibility regulations). A comfortable, spacious and practical bathroom and kitchen were provided where any obstacles are not present.
An application for the French "Tourisme & Handicap" label, which officially recognises suitability through a list of quality requirements in this area, has been approved.
At Boulède you will also find two other holiday homes "Le Menuisier" (= the carpenter) and "Le Forgeron" (= the blacksmith) from the same owners. These two houses and the shared pool no. 1 have been successfully rented all year round since 2005; spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Le Mayne de Boulède is wonderfully situated in the South-West French countryside, 2 km from Monflanquin, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France (Un des Plus Beaux Villages de France), a medieval Bastide (anno 1256).
The region where you are going to spend your holiday is the northern part of the Lot-et-Garonne, between the rivers Dordogne and Lot, at 35 minutes distance from Bergerac Airport where Transavia (Rotterdam Airport from 07/04/2010) flies 3x (Fri - Mon - Wed) and Ryan Air (Brussels Charleroi) 2x per week with low-cost flights.

We zijn in volle voorbereiding om te verblijven in dit prachtige domein... ik kon het niet laten om al een recensie te schrijven over de gastvrouw. Ze is namelijk super hartelijk, antwoord heel snel op al je vragen, heeft voor alles een pasklare oplossing... de ‘pakstress’ smelt weg voor de zon. Wij zien het alvast helemaal zitten!

Wij hebben met vier volwassenen en vier kleine kinderen mogen verblijven in het prachtige huis le Tonnelier. Ruim, schoon en meer dan compleet!
Het mini gehuchtje waar dit huis deel van uitmaakt is een prachtig plekje in Frankrijk. En het wordt nog mooier als je de geschiedenis leest. Rolf, Karen en hun meiden doen er alles aan om er een klein paradijsje van te maken waar het de gasten aan niets ontbreekt. En ze mogen trots zijn op het resultaat tot nu toe!

Als je dan s avonds na n gezellige avond onder de Franse zon naar huis rijdt en zo'n hartverwarmend bericht ontdekt in je Inbox ... Ca fait plaisir! Twee sympathieke gezinnen die samen super ontspannen vakantievierden zo zag het eruit bij jullie. Jullie laten je niet gekmaken (zelfs niet door Niels ;) ... En voor ons als eigenaren/gastheer en vrouw ook niet onbelangrijk dat je zag dat het huis jullie "thuis" was (al is het maar voor even ;) waar goed voor gezorgd werd. Jullie dank dus voor het gastzijn en voor de goede zorgen voor het huis. We zien jullie graag weer terug!

Prachtige gite in gastvrij & kindvriendelijk kleinschalig complex.
We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad met onze 4 jonge kinderen. Karen, Rolf & dochters hebben een prachtig complex gerealiseerd. Gastvrij en kindvriendelijkheid. De gites zijn smaakvol ingericht en voorzien van alle gemakken.

Monflanquin is situated in the middle of the triangle of the nearest wine regions Bergerac, Cahors and Duras, and a bit further Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion, etc.

The listed rental prices of the house for low/half/high season include for the season:
- The cost of using gas, water and electricity
- A flat rate for bed linen i.e. you will find beds made on arrival.
Other costs are:

- If desired, you can order an extra bed linen change 15 E. per person (Each house also has its own washing machine)
