The house
In the house is a living room with fireplace (insert), Dutch satellite TV and stereo with bluetooth, spacious kitchen with dishwasher, Senseo, fridge freezer, cooker with oven and microwave. Even in hot summers it is still cool inside because the house is built against the ground.
There is 1 bedroom with a double bed. Bathroom with massage shower, washing machine and toilet, a second bedroom with bunk beds (under 2 persons above 1 person bed) and a single bed. There is a baby cot, high chair and playpen available (free of charge on request). Large private garden with barbecue, sun beds, jeu de boule lane, private swimming pool and pool bar, complete with a perfect draft beer tap (wieckse witte € 30, - or bring your own keg (cheaper in the Netherlands), table football, table tennis, playground and trampoline, football / badminton field and private parking, wifi internet connection.
Please note: there are two bedrooms, the second bedroom has two single beds and a double bed (140x200).
All this is very quietly situated on a hill with sheep and chickens and a fantastic view!

La petite Las Cledes is situated on top of a hill with panoramic views of the romantic town of Penne d'Agenais. This area is also called the Tuscany of France. Not for nothing is Penne d'Agenais a real painter / artist village! In the area there is plenty of culinary enjoyment and for the children there are several parks and attractions in the immediate vicinity. The Lot et Garonne is really a 'must' for hikers, mountain bikers and nature lovers, thanks to the diversity of the landscape (hills, forests, lakes, rivers and prairies). Penne d'Agenais is situated on the banks of the River Lot, with plenty of opportunities for water sports.
Penne d'Agenais has a train station and is therefore easily accessible by train.
You can fly to:
Bergerac (Transavia.com) at 50 min from Penne d'Agenais.
Toulouse (KLM) or
Bordeaux (KLM) both approx. 1,5 hours from Penne d'Agenais.
By car it is about 11 hours drive from Amsterdam (1090 km) so very good to do!

Inmiddels hier voor de 3e keer geweest en dat zegt al genoeg natuurlijk. Al was de laatste keer 6 jaar geleden, het voelde weer als thuiskomen. Wat hebben we het weer heerlijk gehad. Een prachtige gite met een heerlijk zwembad en alle vrijheid die je je maar wenst. Een groot stuk tuin waar onze honden zich prima hebben vermaakt. En ook het stadje Penne d' agenais blijft een prachtig oud stadje met gezellige restaurants. En ook weer gezellige avonden met Jeanine en Ludo gehad. Ook met onze honden prachtige wandelingen in de omgeving gemaakt. De routes staan prima aangegeven door middel van een kleurtje, dus we hoefden niet op de franse beschrijving af te gaan. Het was weer veel te snel om maar waarschijnlijk staat een 4e keer zeker op het programma.

Wat ‘n heerlijke plek, beter kun je je niet wensen. Fijne grote en schone Gite, heerlijk zwembad, veel ruimte. En hele vriendelijke mensen zijn Jeanine en Ludo. Zeker de moeite waard om hier te logeren.

Prachtige omgeving! Heerlijk zwembad om in af te koelen. Na een duik, kan je ontspannen bij de overdekte poolbar. Binnen is het lekker koel, en ben je van alle nodige faciliteiten voorzien! Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar!!!
Restaurants, food & wine
This is the most delicious region of France with many culinary restaurants in the vicinity and nice evening markets (July-August) where you can sit at long tables and enjoy all the goodies of the local 'producteurs' (wine, snails, foie gras, grilled chickens, etc.). Often with live music. This region is also known for the famous pruneau d'Agen, there is a nice plum specialty shop to visit in Penne d'Agenais.
Penne d'Agenais is at the crossroads of several famous wine regions such as Bordeaux, St Emillion, Bergerac, Monbazillac, and Cahors. There are many wine growers who will be happy to welcome you for a tasting at their Domaine or Chateau.
Every Friday you can have lunch under the plum trees at the musée de foie gras, where there is a nice farmers' market with a.o. grilled "poule a la ficelle" (chicken on the string), "magret de canard" (grilled duck breast fillet) etc.
On request we can also arrange a cosy pizza evening, you and/or the children can make their own pizza, which we then bake in our wood-fired pizza oven. The price for this is 12,50 p.p. and 10,-- p.p. for the children, including drinks and ice cream.
Activities
Directly from the holiday home you can swim, play jeu de boule (on your own jeu de boule pitch), play badminton, trampoline, play table tennis, football, mountain biking (bikes not included) and walking. In the gite there are beautiful hiking trails for you to discover the beautiful nature around Penne d´Agenais.
In the very near surroundings (max. 7km) you can play tennis, fish, and ride a horse/pony, rent a boat or pedal boat, go waterskiing and much more!
There are several 9 and 18-hole golf courses within a radius of 30 km.
In the summer season, there are many nice flea markets, weekly markets and cosy night markets with live music, where you can sit at long tables and choose various local delicacies. There are several attraktieparken and trips possible in the vicinity such as: Municipal water park in Penne d'Agenais for the little ones, Walibi and Aqualand, Zanimoland, piscine Malbentre with mega slides, climbing parks etc.

Further remarks
This romantic gite has 2 bedrooms with a baby cot on request (free of charge).
We have three very sweet dogs ourselves, totally harmless, but if this is not appreciated, the garden of the gite can be closed.
Out of season, the gite can also be booked per night.
Rates out of season include gas, water and electricity.
Excluding breakfast € 125.00 per night in mid-season.
Prices include final cleaning and bed and bath linen.
If you wish to bring your own bed and bath linen, this is possible and a reduction can be given, please indicate this when booking.
Long term rental
In low and mid season it is also possible to rent the gîte for a longer period, please contact us for special rates.

If you are travelling as a couple (possibly with a baby), you will benefit from a € 50 discount in mid- and late season. (this has been taken into account in the price list)
