The house

This charming house features a master bedroom on the ground floor. Upstairs, you will find two more bedrooms, as well as the kitchen and a bathroom on each level.

The kitchen is equipped with a gas cook top, microwave/oven, and fridge. For your coffee needs, we have provided both a Nespresso machine and a cafeiére French press coffee maker.

The two bathrooms each features a toilet, shower, and handbasin, so you'll have everything you need to freshen up after a long day of exploring.

When it comes to entertainment, our TV offers French, English, and Dutch stations, and we have Fibre Optic Wifi for all your streaming needs. There is a desk and chair for remote working.

The thick stone walls of the downstairs bedroom ensure that it is always cool, but we have also provided a fan for your comfort. For those staying in the two bedrooms on the upper floor, there is reverse cycle air-conditioning to keep you comfortable in any weather.

If you'd like to enjoy a meal outside, we have a parasol to cover the dining table in the small private garden. Or you are welcome to make use of the outdoor seating and dining tables in the large garden on the lower level, which offers stunning views overlooking the 10 x 5 metre swimming pool. It's the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun or enjoy a meal al fresco.

If you're feeling more active, you can fire up the barbecue or challenge your friends or family to a game of petanque, a classic French game of boules. We have everything you need for a fun and enjoyable stay.

Our property, La Fleur de Savignac is just three kilometres from Duras, a picturesque village nestled in the beautiful countryside of Southwest France. It is in Lot-et-Garonne, and on the border of Gironde and the Dordogne. Surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, this area is known for its stunning natural beauty, rich history, and delightful local culture.

Just a short drive away from Duras, you'll find several charming towns that are worth exploring. The town of Bergerac, located about 30 minutes away, is renowned for its wine and boasts a beautiful old town area with plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes. The medieval town of Saint-Emilion, also located nearby, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers visitors the chance to discover its rich history while enjoying its beautiful architecture and stunning scenery.

In addition to its charming towns, the Duras area is home to several natural wonders. The Dordogne River, which winds its way through the region, offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing, and swimming. The Parc Naturel Régional des Landes de Gascogne, located to the west of Duras, is a beautiful forested area that's perfect for hiking, cycling, and picnicking.

If you're visiting during the summer months, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. The region is famous for its many food and wine festivals, which celebrate the local cuisine and offer visitors the chance to taste some of the best food and drink in France.     We have had a wonderful stay. We had a very warm welkom by our host in person. The gite was like a fairy tale, spacious and equiped with everything we needed. The swimming pool and the garden were beautiful in a private surrounding. We would recommend this gite to everyone. Suzanna and Sandy, thanks again for the wonderfull stay!

    What a lovely and peaceful place. The gites are well maintained and clean. We stayed here with our daughter of 6 months and the gites were completely furnished for this. Lovely pool and the owners are very friendly. Absolutely recommended!

    This place is beautiful! It’s well maintained and the view is amazing. It’s a restful base for a relaxing holiday at the pool or for exploring the country by car.

La Fleur de Savignac is located three kilometres from the historic town of Duras - you will glimpse the 13th century chateau in the distance. There are several excellent restaurants, a bakery, butchers shop and a local supermarket. Every Monday morning there is a farmer's market. There are numerous other markets in the area, including the Saturday market at St Foy Le Grand, feted as the "best market in France". You can also visit wineries, take walks, do kayaking, horse-riding and many other activities.

In the local area all kinds of activities are available - walking, kayaking, cycling, horse riding, kayaking, golf, ballooning, swimming in local lakes and rivers, exploring charming villages, historic properties and gardens, visiting wineries, and many more. There are numerous country markets in the region, including the Saturday market at St Foy Le Grand, feted as the "best market in France", as well as night markets and gourmet events during summer.

Further remarks

Please note: Children are the responsibility of parents while on the property, and will need to be supervised at all times. There is a wooden child gate at the top of the stairs, plus a high chair and baby cot. The pool has an alarm, and a low fence and gate at the entrance. However, the pool fencing is not child proof.
Only paying guests are permitted to use the pool, barbecue and petanque facilities.
