The house
Gite La Grangée is an independent part of the Chateau Mondou estate, which dates back to the thirteenth century, and is suitable for four people. It is detached and has beautiful views over the countryside and a spacious garden and private courtyard full of flowering plants. The house has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living room with an open kitchen and a large window that lets in a lot of light.

The house is located in the outskirts of Villeneuve sur Lot. This is a nice town on the Lot with several lively markets and all the big supermarkets are close by. So all facilities nearby and yet in a super rural setting. 360-degree unobstructed views in a beautiful valley. We can see roe deer walking among the mass of wild orchids here and the black kite is often seen here. On the property is the ruin of a 13th century pigeonier, a pigeon tower. There are many lovely bastide towns in the area, such as Monflanquin, Villereal and Monpazier. Everywhere there are nice brocantes, regular markets and food markets, where people eat at long tables.There is a good 18-hole golf course 8 kilometres away and a swimming lake 20 kilometres away. There are many prehistoric caves to explore, you can canoe on the Lot, in short, time to spare.

Hallo,
Wat een topplek is het. Het was ons derde bezoek en steeds verrast de plek, de natuur en de omgeving ons. Dit jaar was er veel verbouwd en aangepast. Ook het zwembad was waanzinnig verbouwd. Deze week waren we met 9 mensen ( 4 parties) te gast bij chateau Mondou. Het gezelschap was echt uniek. Ieder had zijn eigen ritme en vrijheid en ook samen waren we verbonden. We hadden zeer bijzonder mooie gesprekken, fantastisch eten, heerlijke muziek, dansend in de avond zon. De plek leent zich tot al dit moois. Alles kan en niets moet. Rokus en Marie Anne waren samen uitmuntende gastheer & vrouw. En wij sliepen in het kasteel, in een zeer zeer ruime grote kamer met een geweldig bed.

Dank voor deze fijne recensie, we worden er verlegen van. Moet even een nuance aanbrengen dat het fantastische eten in gezamenlijkheid werd bereid. Ieder droeg een gerecht aan en dat werd samen een mooie gevulde tafel. Jullie dank voor de positieve energie.

We hebben een prima week gehad. Alles was schoon en netjes. Fijne keuken, leuke zitjes en enorm gezellig met de andere vakantievierders. Een heerlijk zwembad in een prachtige omgeving.
Restaurants, food & wine
It is the region of food markets (in summer) Foie Gras, truffles and plums. The wine region of Bergerac, Cahors and Duras. There are many nice restaurants and food markets to discover in the area.
Activities
There is a communal swimming pool and a separate children's pool. At the back of the property is an activity tent where you can contemplate, meditate or do yoga. There is a common outdoor area on the courtyard with two BBQs / woodstove and pizza stove and of course long tables to eat or paint or play games. Also at La Grangee you can make a fire in the large firepot in the courtyard. There is a table tennis table and a game of petanque. You can finally read that book under the large lime tree or chat a bit at the pool with your fellow residents. There are two other independent gites on the property. These gites can also be rented together, for a large family or friends club. The total capacity is then 18 persons. See also our other advertisement: Mondou.

Further remarks
Chateau Mondou is at the end of a dead-end road. So no traffic. An authentic estate with its very own atmosphere and gooey earth rays as one of our visitors put it. There are vantage points and seating areas everywhere. There is superfast internet via satellite throughout the property.
