The Gîte is on the GOLDEN TRIANGLE of POITOU, Touraine and BRENNE. 7 minutes from La Roche-Posay, 30 minutes from the Châteaux of the Loire.

Dating from the late 18th century, this stone-built gîte is located at the crossroads of the Poitou, Touraine and Berry regions, close to the Châteaux of the Loire.
Recently restored with great care, this south-facing gîte is just a stone's throw from the River Creuse, so don't miss the chance to take a delicious dip in the river when the weather's fine. There's a sandy beach for all ages.
The gîte can accommodate 2 people and a baby and is open all year round.
On the ground floor,
- the large living room with exposed stonework and beams, and the open fireplace add charm, romance and character; flat-screen TV.

The living room opens onto a delightful flower-filled GARDEN, sheltered from view and the wind; in fine weather, you can enjoy the plancha or relax in the shade.
- The beautiful open-plan kitchen is fully equipped: washing machine and tumble dryer, dishwasher, oven, electric hob, fridge, microwave, electric coffee machine and Nespresso machine; iron and ironing board.

The bakery is opposite, very practical for hot croissants in the morning!

The Gîte des Glycines is located in the centre of a charming, peaceful country village not far from the Châteaux of the Loire.
At the crossroads of the Touraine, Berry and Poitou regions, 10 minutes from La Roche-Posay, the European capital of thermal dermatology, and less than an hour from Poitiers and Tours, come and discover our magnificent sun-drenched countryside surrounded by numerous rivers: the Gartempe, the Creuse and the Vienne: the "3 valleys" in the Vienne department. Our house is situated in the centre of a pretty little village bordered by a river. The micro-climate of the south of the Loire and the gentle way of life are very much present here. The surrounding countryside, magnificent forests and rivers are ideal for walking and cycling. Close to Poitiers and its famous medieval heritage, you can discover some of the most beautiful Romanesque churches, such as St Savin, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as charming villages. The old towns of Montmorillon and Chauvigny will enchant you. 1 hour from Tours and its famous Châteaux de la Loire, come and discover the jewels of our region. Close to the region of 1000 ponds, the Berry, the wildlife and the many varieties of birds will enchant you. Less than an hour's drive away, you can also visit the famous "Marais Poitevin". The magnificent golf course is just 8' away, and is very little frequented, offering a considerable advantage for beginners and others. Discover its secrets as you wind your way through the lush green valleys. The Romanesque heritage and prehistoric sculptures are unique in the world (St Savin among others). Angles, 15 minutes away, is one of the most beautiful villages in France. The marvellous Fontevraud Abbey is not far away. The Puy du Fou show, well known to the French, is about 2 hours away. Take a trip to the magnificent and famous Beauval Zoo, 1 hour's drive away.

Leuk knus huisje, van alle gemakken voorzien. Mooie omgeving.
De tuin is wel iets kleiner dan op de foto's, maar ook aan de straatkant kan je prima zitten. Wij zijn beide wat lang, gelukkig hadden we zelf kampeer stoelen mee, want zo lang op die Bristrot stoelen buiten zitten is niet fijn. Zwemplek in de buurt. Leuke plek als uitvalsbasis voor als je niet te veel wil doen. De bakker in het dorp in helaas gesloten, dat is wel echt jammer.
Francoise is super vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
(Denk aan de borg, die cash betaald moet worden bij check in, waren wij vergeten en er zit geen pin in dorp!)Reno from Amsterdam,
Heerlijk huisje. Mooi ingericht. Het tuintje is wat aan de kleine kant en voor uitgebreid koken is het een beetje behelpen met een kookplaat met 2 pitten. Maar je kunt natuurlijk ook lekker uit eten. Het mooiste aan het huis is de door de eigenaresse. Wat een vriendelijk mens! Ze neemt echt de tijd om alles uit te leggen wat je kunt doen in de buurt en waar je het best kunt gaan eten. Er stond een flesje wijn in de koelkast bij aankomst maar halverwege de week kwam ze ook nog een fles brengen.Tip: bezoek op woensdag de markt in Loches. Het strandje aan de rivier op loopafstand is ook fijn. Al met al een heerlijke week gehad.

Wij hebben hier een heerlijke week beleefd in de herfst. Het weer was de hele week lekker, ook nog zonnig. Het huis voelt als een warme deken, lekker knus met alles wat je wenst. De bakker aan de overkant heeft heerlijk brood. Deze omgeving was voor ons een 'nieuw' stukje Frankrijk, maar verrassend mooi! We hebben diverse uitstapjes gemaakt in de omgeving en zijn heerlijk uitgerust.

Restaurants, food & wine
The owner, who trained as an agronomist, will show you around the vineyards of Chinon and Loches, just a stone's throw away. The Touraine region, which borders our village, is full of vineyards; goat's cheese, rillettes and macaroons are the specialities of the region.... The restaurants are very affordable and delicious. 3 weekly markets are just a stone's throw away.

Bordered by 3 valleys: the Creuse, the Gartempe and the Vienne, at the crossroads of the Poitou, Touraine and Brenne regions and just a stone's throw from the spa town of La Roche-Posay, the Clos des Glycines is ideally situated. You'll be spoilt for choice, with plenty of activities on offer... The Châteaux of the Loire are just a stone's throw away.
To get into shape, in the morning you can enjoy a delicious swim on our sandy beach, 200m from the house.
You'll love the diversity of our beautiful countryside. Golf 5' away, fishing....
First of all, the many romantic rivers that border our village, the surrounding forests and medieval villages offer magnificent walks (G.R. circuits in Lésigny), cycling, canoeing, kayaking or even horse-riding, climbing, anything goes!...
A delightful private fishing spot on the River Claise, just a few minutes away, offers you the opportunity to catch fish, have a BBQ and, why not, read a book or daydream to your heart's content.
The magnificent 18-hole golf course is a 5-minute drive away, as are the spa, casino, cinemas and local markets.
Numerous music festivals in summer around the house.
The Futuroscope, a well-known French amusement park, is 35' away.

Gymnastics club in Lésigny (for a fee), hairdresser, restaurant, doctor, chemist and library (free) opposite the house; sale of local produce on Friday afternoons, fishmonger's on Thursday mornings.
For lovers of second-hand goods and bric-a-brac, every Sunday you can take the opportunity to stroll around and discover the beautiful, authentic villages nearby. This region of the 3 valleys will also allow you to visit the vineyards. The owner, an agronomist by training, can accompany you on a tour of the cellars near Chinon or Loches and visit the magnificent châteaux just a 1/2 hour drive away, Chenonceau, Chambord, Azay-le-Rideau... The countless small châteaux, the "Vieux Tours" and Poitiers, famous for its magnificent cathedral, are also well worth a visit. The Romanesque church of St Savin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is superb, and there are some lovely walks along the Gartempe. The Brenne, just a stone's throw away, is famous for its hunting and fishing, and its landscapes are full of charm: the ponds, marvellous forests, wildlife and birds are of rare beauty. Small, charming restaurants in the "land of 1000 ponds".
Gourmets will love the delicious, good-value restaurants and all the local specialities. There are local markets several days a week where you can do your shopping. ...
The châteaux of the Loire are less than an hour's drive away in Touraine. The Marais Poitevins is also nearby. The beaches of the Charente are 2 hours away. The famous and magnificent Beauval Zoo is an hour's drive away. Golf and Spa are 7' away by car.
