The house
The gite is quietly situated in "Les Rabauds". , a private property, a hamlet from the 17th century consisting of 5 houses and several barns, of which 2 gites are rented.
The 30 hectares of land are characterized by woods and fields.
The cottages are equipped with all modern comforts and have been restored in the old style.
The living room and the bedroom of La Tourderie are furnished in an antique style.
The wooden ceiling beams, a large fireplace and the antique floor tiles contribute to the romantic character.
The bedroom has a bed for two persons.
An extra bed can be added in the living room (there is also a sofa bed).
A kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas oven and cooker, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and iron.
A bathroom with shower, toilet and two sinks.
A private garden with a cosy terrace, garden furniture including deck chairs and parasol and a barbeque.
You can use the large communal swimming pool (14 x 7 metres) with heating all day. (From 1 June: 26 degrees)
The pool has a beautiful sunny terrace overlooking a large wooded meadow.
The houses are at a large distance from each other so that much privacy.

Le Hameau des Rabauds is situated in the triangle of Touraine, Poitou and Berry .
This area is very authentic, with idyllic landscapes, beautiful forests, rivers, fens, castles, old villages, medieval towns and Romanesque churches.
For the daily shopping, the nearby villages of Saint Pierre de Maille and Pleumartin are suitable (4kms ).
The town of La Roche Posay, 11 km away, is known for its healing springs and is a rural spa. There are restaurants, shops, a farmers market with local products and a supermarket.
There is also an 18-hole golf course, a kino, a casino and music festivals.
The medieval Angles sur l'Anglin is one of the most beautiful towns of France.
Chauvigny has four old castles and the bird show "Les geants du ciel".
Furthermore, there is Montmorrillon, La Cite de l'Ecrit, famous for its bookshops and the abbey church of Saint Savin with its famous 13th century frescos, which belong to the Unesco's art treasures.
For nature lovers: the regional park "La Brenne" at 35km for birdwatching, the zoo of La Haute Touche (400 ha) and the Romagne monkey park at an hour's drive.
Poitiers, 35 km away, is the capital of "La Vienne" and has a very interesting historical centre.
Near Poitiers is the famous amusement park "Le Futuroscope" .
And for a day out there are the beautiful castles of the Loire and the vineyards of the Haut Poitou and Touraine.

Wat een paradijsje! Ik heb samen met mijn hond ontzettend genoten van een week in les Rabauds en de gastvrijheid van Marina, Daniel en Eric. Een prachtig huis uit de 16e eeuw, smaakvol ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. Een heerlijke eigen tuin om in alle privacy te zitten en daarbij een schitterend zwembad met uitzicht op het land. Als je van rust, natuur en sfeervolle oude dorpjes houdt, is dit een absolute aanrader. Ik kom zeker terug! Merci a vous!

Een romantisch en sfeervol ingericht huisje, voorzien van alle gemakken, gelegen in een prachtig landelijke omgeving. Volop ruimte en privacy met zitplekken zowel in de zon als in de schaduw.
Bij het huis van de eigenaren een heerlijk zwembad met een wijds uitzicht. Wij hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf in La Gailarde en danken Marina, Daniël en Eric voor hun grote gastvrijheid en hopen zeker terug te komen.

Further remarks
The gite is rented per week from Saturday 16.00 hrs to the next Saturday 09.30 hrs, including energy costs (40kw per week), bed linen, kitchen towels and a large towel per person (bring other towels).
The cleaning of the gite at the end of the week is included.
200 euros deposit.
We are at "Les Rabauds" the whole year round and speak French, Dutch, English and German.
