The house
Ground floor apartment with one double bed and a cabin room with bunk beds which are suitable for 2 children aged 5 - 12 years. The open plan living/dining room/kitchen is well equipped, to include a tv and DVD player with a selection of DVDs plus some books. There are patio doors opening on to an East facing patio with a small garden area beyond. The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, wash basin with a lit mirror above and heated towel rail plus the toilet is separate. The apartment has its own washing machine whilst laundry facilities are also located within the communal area. WIFI is now available in the apartment and is also accessible in the communal areas eg near the swimming pool and 4G reception is very good in the locality.

The apartment is on a complex set in 5 hectares of grounds originally belonging to the neighbouring 18th century chateau. Being adjacent to the Canal du Midi there is easy access to miles of walking/cycling paths and quiet roads to explore. Being in a rural area, the residence is surrounded by vineyards; there is actually a winery behind the chateau and there are many local wines to sample from the local Minervois region and neighbouring Corbieres region.

There are several restaurants in the local village of Homps (about 1 mile away) and many local villages have cafes, bars and restaurants, many serving the local delicacies of Cassoulet and Duck Confit

The apartment is on a complex set in 5 hectares of grounds originally belonging to the neighbouring 18th century chateau and includes a large swimming pool with children’s paddling pool and a large sun terrace plus there is a designated BBQ area, woodland walks and large open spaces. Being adjacent to the Canal du Midi there is easy access to miles of walking/cycling paths and quiet roads to explore. The residence is surrounded by vineyards so there are many local wines to sample from the local Minervois region and neighbouring Corbieres region. About a mile away is the pretty canalside village of Homps which has a small supermarket plus several restaurants and a few shops. For larger supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, local markets, etc the small towns of Olonzac, La Redorte and Lezignan Corbieres are only a few miles away. Mediterranean beaches are less than an hour’s drive away as are the historic cities of Carcassonne, Narbonnes and Beziers. The Black Mountains are about an hour’s drive to the north with the Pyrenees about two hours to the south for those keen on hiking. whilst water sports and parks are located a few miles away and about an hour's drive away are various Cathar castles to explore

The apartment is ideal for those looking for a relaxing holiday away from modern hectic life. This is a very quiet and unspoilt area of southern France dominated by the Canal du Midi and apparently gets over 300 days of sunshine a year.
