The house
Your spacious (110m2) and detached luxury holiday home with private entrance and parking is located about 50 metres from the castle and on the edge of the castle garden of 5ha where you can take lovely walks.
The interior is very complete, with the luxury and comfort of today but the charm of yesteryear.
The large terrace in front of the house with pergola and your spacious private garden invite you to eat outside, have a glass of wine, barbecue etc. (garden furniture and barbecue available).
The children (and adults) will not be bored with the many games, TV and table tennis table, football game.
The living kitchen is complete with dishwasher, microwave, oven, 4 burner induction hob, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, juicer, hoover etc. You can also use a washing machine, freezer, ironing board, iron.
Each of the three bedrooms is furnished with two luxurious, very comfortable 80x200 cm boxsprings that are already made up on arrival. On the ground floor, but also on the first floor, you have access to a luxurious bathroom, each with a shower, toilet and a total of 3 washbasins.
The floors of the holiday home are laminate and tiled.
The changeover day is flexible outside the high season (then usually Saturday) with a minimum stay of 4 nights and attractive discounts for weekly bookings.
Useful to avoid busy weekends or if you are passing through.

How often do parents say to each other "as long as the children have a good time, I have a holiday too". The many children's toys, the cart, the football game, an estate (5 ha) to romp around, play badminton or football will certainly contribute to this.
Enjoy the beautiful chlorine-free pool together during the day and in the evening, perhaps a walk through the park garden or enjoying a delicious glass of Blomac wine sitting on the castle terrace with the mountains in the distance, listening to the typical cricket sounds, the choice is yours. The owner will be happy to tell you all about Blomac wine.

Outside the high season, this holiday home can also be rented for long-term stays (e.g. if you are looking for your 2nd home in the area).

The detached holiday house is located about 50 m from the castle with plenty of privacy on the outskirts of the village of Blomac. From your holiday home, you have a view of the vineyards on the first floor, the mountains in the distance and, diagonally opposite, there is an old (protected) church dating back 13 centuries.
Around the house are the vineyards that belonged to the domain until recently. Within 3 km are some shops, restaurant and at 12 km in Trebes is a very large supermarket where you can get everything.
Furthermore, there is also a bakery, butcher, fruit farmer, ATM, florist, restaurants, pharmacy etc.
The landscape of the Aude is rough and green all year round. Walking, cycling, canoeing can be done on every level. Quiet paddling in the flat valley of the river Aude (a few hundred meters from the castle) to challenging cycling and walking tours in the surrounding mountains of the Montagne Noir or the Corbières (wine region). The many quiet golf courses will amaze you.
The region also has no lack of history and culture. No less than two World Heritage Sites are very close by. The Canal du Midi is almost in the backyard of the castle. This canal with its many idyllic locks, bridges and harbours can easily be sailed with pleasure boats that can be rented in many places and for which no license is needed.

Restaurants, food & wine
The origins of this region's wealth of fine wines go back to the Romans.
They already discovered this pleasant climate and planted their vines there. Also our domain is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and until today viniculture is the beating heart of the region (Minervois).
Almost daily there are markets at a short distance with all fresh local products and oyster and mussel lovers will also get their money's worth; in Trebes you can buy directly from the grower.
Many winegrowers in the area who invite you to a wine tasting; do you not speak French, no problem, at a short distance from Blomac a Dutch wineboer will be happy to give you an explanation or ask Fred the owner who is also a vintner for a wine tasting.
Dining out on location because you don't want to cook yourself?
For lunch you can order a daily picnic, chill out on our special picnic areas with the playground nearby for the kids.
Dining on location? Then join us in the evening at the large table on the veranda of the castle with magnificent views of the (illuminated) park for the table d'hotes (dinner) with Fred & Jacqueline the owners, and other guests. This is possible at least 4 times a week and in July and August even 5 or 6 times a week. Our TAPAS and BBQ evenings are very popular.
So don't forget to make a reservation if you want to experience this unique culinary evening (at least 1 day in advance) and of course we will take the menu for the kids into account.
Activities
Cycling (bike hire can be arranged) and walking along the leafy canal (giant plane trees are planted all along the canal, so shady in summer) is also very popular.
The other spectacular heritage site is the "Cité de Carcassonne" and is only 19 km from Blomac. The only preserved walled medieval city in Europe. Anyone who has driven the motorway between Bordeaux and Narbonne has seen this monumental edifice perched on the rolling wine hills.
An afternoon on the beach, strolling along the boulevard, or enjoying a delicious fish restaurant in Narbonne is only 45 km away. Or with the children to the lake with beach of Bize-Minervois at only 29 km. Or cool off in the caves of Limousis, 20 km north of Carcassonne or to the family water amusement park Aquajet at Narbonne Plage, 55 km.
Animal lovers will enjoy the safari park with more than 3800 animals at 55 km in Sigean.

The gite is for rent throughout the year.
Upon entering you will immediately notice that the gite is very clean (final cleaning € 100, - required).
In the cottage, castle and park is access to WIFI connection.
Pets are unfortunately not allowed.

From 18 to 22 February we stayed with great pleasure in the guest house of Chateau de Blomac.
We were warmly welcomed by Fred and Jacqueline.
The house is cosy and fully equipped. Beautiful kitchen and bathrooms.
In the morning we were woken up by the many birds in the beautiful park with palms and very old trees and in the evening it is good to stay by the fireplace after a delicious French dinner with wines from Chateau de Blomac itself.
Highly recommended for a quiet, yet active holiday.

Dear Jacqueline and Fred, we have enjoyed staying with you again. And now at "Chateau de Blomac" in the south of France. After all the stories and pictures of the atmosphere, we were able to enjoy all the beauty that you present to your guests for a week at the end of August. And that's not nothing: a lovely gite (practical and beautifully furnished) with its own terrace and garden, a very tastefully decorated castle (with a wonderful kitchen to prepare delicious dishes and fantastic suites), a surprising garden with many attractive corners, a lovely swimming pool ("as if you swim in butter"), delicious dishes during the table d'hote, tasty wines of our own making (luckily there were still a few bottles of rosé) and of course the hospitable, friendly, personal and warm reception and contacts. Merci! Merci!
The children are always very happy with all the children's toys that are waiting for them and have not been bored for a minute in and around the castle and gite.
It was also very nice to get to know the other guests during a pleasant meal on the lovely terrace with the inspiring view. We really enjoyed talking to Ed, Marscha, Dick and Laura. And with you of course.
This holiday at Chateau de Blomac asks for more. For a sequel. Maybe we can still make ourselves useful in the garden (read: the park)!

Tip: if you arrive a day earlier or leave a day later you can avoid the busy Saturday traffic in high season by renting a suite in the castle (family rooms also available).
After your booking you will receive a rental agreement. The down payment is 30% of the total sum and you pay the remainder no later than 6 weeks before your holiday.
On arrival you pay € 300,- deposit which you get back on your departure after possible deduction of damage.
