The house
Part of the main house, completely private and with separate entrance, of an old wine estate is at your disposal. 100m2 on 2 floors.
It has a fully equipped kitchen, dining/sitting area with stove, living room, WC, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The decoration is cosily modern.
All this in part of an old wine estate surrounded by a large shady park. Tranquillity, warm welcome, discretion. Wifi available throughout the house and patio ( high flow rate). Located on the edge of a quiet, beautiful, small southern French village with playground, local café, basketball court, park, post office and bread collection point. Quick links to all tourist attractions.

Domaine Le Piboul is located in Fontcouverte, a small village in the south of France, situated in the Aude department and the Occitanie region (Languedoc-Roussilon).
You will find a post office, cosy village cafe( renewed spring 2019 with new owners) a bread collection point and the weekly fruit and vegetable market, Thursday pizza. During the summer months there are weekly village activities.
Supermarket chains, pharmacies, doctors, restaurants, pubs, a disco, a cinema etc are 4-7km away.
The beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, the rivers and lakes provide the necessary refreshment during the beautiful hot summers.
Carcassonne, Narbonne, Béziers (20-30 minutes) and even Toulouse, Montpellier and Perpignan (50-70 minutes) are within easy reach.

Absolute aanrader. Alles perfect in orde & in zeer propere staat. Alles is aanwezig voor een geslaagde vakantie: mooie streek waar alles makkelijk en snel bereikbaar is, uitstekende accomodatie (netjes, nieuw,...) en zeer vriendelijk & hartelijk onthaal door Chantal, Merijn en Lily die iedereen meteen welkom doen voelen. Perfecte verblijfplaats voor gezinnen, koppels,... van alle leeftijden. Ook voor kleine kindjes is al het nodige aanwezig. Zéér scherpe prijs voor alles wat je ervoor in de plaats krijgt!

In de drie weken dat wij op le Piboul te gast waren bij Marijn en Chantal hebben we erg genoten van zowel de bijzondere omgeving als van het Domaine zelf.
Marijn en Chantal doen er alles aan je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Of het nu de fietsen zijn waarmee de (relatief) vlakke directe omgeving verkend kan worden, of de tips voor de restaurantjes in de nabije dorpjes (Le Faitout en Chez Bembé waren goede aanraders!), alles staat in het teken van de gasten. Tussen de bedrijven door vond Marijn ook nog regelmatig tijd eens met ons te babbelen, erg leuke gesprekken! In de omgeving is veel meer te zien dan wij hebben bezocht, de moeite waard zijn in elk geval de Chateaux de Peyrepertuse en Queribus, het Forteresse de Salses en de Abbaye de Fontfroide; indrukwekkende bouwwerken! Mooie maar meer toeristische bestemmingen zijn bijvoorbeeld Carcassonne en Collioure. In de gîte is een grote hoeveelheid folders en kaarten van de regio beschikbaar om inspiratie op te doen. Op het domaine is een tweede gîte aanwezig, maar door de vele buitenruimte is de keuze aan de gasten om elkaar op te zoeken of niet. Mochten we deze regio nog eens bezoeken komen we zeker terug!
Restaurants, food & wine
We are located on the border of 2 major wine-growing regions: the Corbières and the Minervois in the Languedoc-Roussilon.If you follow the route '20' (say vin) you will come across a number of wine estates, wine castles, caves where you can go and taste the wines (for free).
The cuisine is Mediterranean-French/Spanish and the prices are more than right! A daily menu (3-courses) around 14€ water, wine and a coffee included.

Between Mediterranean and mountains, Carcassonne and Narbonne, in Cathar country, on the wine routes of Corbières and Minervois, the Canal du Midi and picturesque southern villages. Gastronomy, nature, heritage, culture, sport, relaxation. Sunshine.

Further remarks
