The house
New in the rental from June 2021! Holiday cottage "L'Etang" is located in Les Ayguades in Gruissan, 15 km from Narbonne. The cottage is located in a small holiday park, 20 meters from the lagoon and 10 minutes walk from the beach. The cottage of 37 m² was completely renovated in 2021 with a new kitchen, new bathroom, well equipped and modern and tastefully decorated. The house is suitable for 4 persons. Description: Ground floor: cosy bright living room, TV with satellite connection, wifi, dining area; kitchen equipped with fridge, 4-burner induction hob, microwave/grill, coffee machine (Senseo), toaster; bathroom with shower and sink, separate toilet. Bedroom with sofa bed for 2 persons (twin beds). Walk-in closet with washing machine and storage. First floor: mezzanine with double bed. Terrace with garden furniture, barbecue and sunshade.
There is free wifi in the cottage. Pets are not allowed.

Cottage 'L'Etang' is situated in the lagoon area near Gruissan, an old fishing village on the Mediterranean, 15 km from Narbonne, in the Aude. Cottage 'L'Etang' is a semi-detached corner house and is situated in a small holiday park on the lagoon, in the holiday district Les Ayguades. At 4 km distance you will find the old fisherman's village Gruissan, with small alleys, shops, restaurants and terraces. Opposite Les Ayguades lies the La Clape nature reserve, a limestone massif with special vegetation and many vineyards, where you can go walking and cycling. From the house it is a 20 metre walk to the lagoon. The beautiful wide and endless sandy beach is a 10-minute walk away.

Na jaren in Le Barcares en Leucate onze vakanties te hebben doorgebracht, hebben we gekozen voor een andere locatie en zijn uitgekomen bij deze leuke vakantiewoning met voldoende ruimte voor vier personen. Sympathieke eigenaren die één van hun meerdere vakantiewoningen verhuren via een verhuurbureau in Narbonne Plage. De woning werd keurig schoon opgeleverd en het ontbrak nergens aan. Een airconditioning in de woning was het enige wat ontbrak, maar dit werd opgelost door een aantal ventilatoren waarmee het redelijk uit te houden was. De omgeving verschilt niet veel met die van Le Barcares en Leucate. Afstand tot het strand viel met 10-15 minuten wandelen prima te doen. Op 5 minuten met de auto is een moderne en relatief nieuwe Lidl-supermarkt waar je alles kunt krijgen en daar kort voor een Intermarché. Ook het zwembad naast de Intermarché met diverse spa's en sauna's is een absolute aanrader als de Mistral wind aan de stranden te hard waait. Met de electrische auto naar Frankrijk geen enkel probleem. De heen-en terugreis voldoende laadpunten via Ionity en in Gruissan en omliggende plaatsen kun je prima laden via Reveo. Kortom, we hebben een prima vakantie gehad in een voor ons nieuwe omgeving. Een aanrader dus.

Mooi gerenoveerd vakantiehuis.
Keuken met elektrische kookplaat en fijne pannen. Dichtbij het strand en klein stukje verder is er een leuk kanaal die uitmondt op zee, je kan daar fijn zwemmen en zit niet in de wind als er weer harde land wind staat. Het huisje is wel erg warm een airco zou heel fijn zijn. Er zijn allerlei huishoudelijke apparaten aanwezig, zoals wasmachine, Senseo, broodrooster, waterkoker. Dagje Carcassonne, Narbonne en Beziers is erg aan te raden. We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad met onze twee pubermeiden.Piet Hummel from Lelystad,
Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in huisje l’etang. Alles was goed geregeld. Het is een gezellig huisje, van alle gemakken voorzien en smaakvol ingericht. Ook de omgeving is mooi. Winkels dichtbij. Een bezoek aan Carcassonne was prima te doen. In de buurt kun je goed wandelen. Hoogtepunt vonden wij het bezoek aan de abbaye Fontfroide.
Het was nogal warm. Alle dagen 30+. Je kon dan heerlijk afkoelen in het meer. ‘s Nachts was het ook behoorlijk warm. Een airco installatie zou een goede investering zijn. Maar desondanks kijken we terug op een fijne, relaxte vakantie! 👍🌞😁
Restaurants, food & wine
Gruissan has several good restaurants offering delicious local fish specialities. Freshly caught fish can be sampled every day at the old port. The end of the pier at Gruissan-Plage is a great place to eat oysters and mussels.
Wine is grown extensively in the region. Sample the delicious local Languedoc-Roussillon wines: La Clape, Hospitalet, Chateau Ricardelle.
Activities
The wide, long sandy beach of Ayguades is a 10-minute walk from the house. The beach slopes gently into the sea, so children can swim and play there safely. In high season, lifeguards are present.
The whole area, along the coast and in the nature reserve La Clape, offers excellent walking and cycling possibilities, good cycling paths connect the district Les Ayguades with Gruissan, Narbonne-Plage and Narbonne.
The wine museum "La Cite de la Vigne et du Vin" is well worth a visit.
The salt flats of Ile Saint Martin at Gruissan, with an eco-museum on the history of salt production, are interesting.
In Gruissan there is a windsurfing and sailing school. Near Ayguades there is an equestrian centre where you can go on horseback rides through the La Clape nature reserve. In the summer there is a kart track, mini-golf and an amusement park for children.
Narbonne (10 km) is a real Mediterranean city with squares and the beautiful cathedral Saint-Just with the adjacent monastery.
Abbaye Fontfroide: a magnificent 11th century abbey, 14 km south-west of Narbonne; absolutely worth a visit with its beautiful cloister.
Furthermore, also Beziers (30 km), Sete (80 km), Perpignan (80 km), the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne (75 km) and even Barcelona (200 km) are easily accessible and very worthwhile.

We have 2 more cottages to let in Gruissan: cottage Lagoon and cottage La Clape. Cottage 'Lagune' is situated between the lagoon and the beach of Gruissan, 100 metres from the beach. Cottage La Clape is situated on the edge of Les Ayguades, a 12 minute walk to the beach.
