The house
Holiday home Lagune is furnished in a modern and attractive way. Ground floor: cosy sitting room, TV with satellite connection, CD/DVD player, WiFi, dining area, fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, 4-burner induction hob, microwave/grill, coffee maker (Senseo), bathroom with washbasin, shower and washing machine, separate toilet.
First floor: mezzanine with two double beds.
Terrace and covered veranda facing south-west (enjoy the beautiful sunset), with garden furniture and sunshade, unobstructed view of lagoon and Gruissan nature reserve.
Dogs are not allowed. Free wifi available in the cottage.

Our little house by the sea 'Lagoon' is situated between the lagoon and the beach of Gruissan, an old fishing village on the Mediterranean, 15 km from Narbonne, in the Languedoc-Roussillon. The terrace has a magnificent wide view over the lagoon and the nature reserve between the lagoon and the beach. The beautiful wide and endless sandy beach is at 1 minute walking distance.
Lagune' is situated on the edge of the Les Ayguades holiday district, 4 km from Gruissan, a charming old fishing village with small alleys, shops, restaurants and terraces. It lies at the foot of the La Clape nature reserve, a limestone massif with special vegetation and many vineyards, where you can go walking and cycling.

Ook wij hebben genoten van het huisje Lagune. Het uitzicht, de zee op loopafstand en als er goede golven zijn, kan je ze ook horen vanaf het terras.
Wij hadden onze fietsen meegenomen. De winkels, markten, buur-stadjes en de zoutvlakten zijn heel goed met de fiets te bereiken.
Narbonne en vooral Carcasonne zijn echte aanraders.
Volgende zomer komen we graag terug, daar kunnen we een heel jaar naar uit kijken!Sylvia en Gerwin from Etten-Leur,
2 weken doorgebracht in huisje Lagune.
Het is een prachtig verblijf met een schitterend uitzicht. We hebben dan ook veel gebruik gemaakt van het terras dat uitzicht biedt over de lagune. De zee is op loopafstand. Er is veel te doen in de omgeving, Je hoeft daarvoor geen uren te reizen. Narbonne en Gruissan zijn leuke plaatsen met dito markten. Op het terras hadden wij geen last van muggen, ook niet geheel onbelangrijk.
Het huisje zelf biedt alle voorzieningen die nodig zijn. Bij slecht weer kun je je vermaken met een boek en de aanwezige televisie die helaas alleen Duitse gasten lijkt te willen bedienen. De bedden zijn vrij smal vandaar dat wij ervoor gekozen hebben apart te slapen. Apart together dat wel, want de bedden staan op de bovenetage bij elkaar. Er is geen schakelaar aanwezig om het licht boven aan te doen (hotelschakeling) dus zul je eerst naar boven moeten (over een vrij smalle nauwe trap) om daar een lampje aan te doen, wil je wat kunnen zien.
Aan de andere kant is de prijs- kwaliteitsverhouding uitmuntend dus dat maakt een hoop goed.
Samenvattend kan je hier een mooi en rustig verblijf hebben met alle voorzieningen die je nodig hebt.Els from 's-Gravenhage,
Wat een heerlijk huisje, eenvoudig maar zeer charmant en van alle gemakken voorzien. Fijne keuken en het terrasje met uitzicht over de lagune is heerlijk beschut. Wandelen, fietsen, vliegeren: het kan er allemaal!
Restaurants, food & wine
Gruissan has several fish restaurants offering delicious local fish specialities. Freshly caught fish can be sampled every day at the old port. At the end of the pier at Gruissan-Plage you can enjoy oysters and mussels.
Wine is grown extensively in the region. Sample the delicious local Languedoc-Roussillon wines: La Clape, Hospitalet, Chateau Ricardelle.
Activities
The wide, long sandy beach of Ayguades is a 2-minute walk from the house. The beach slopes gently into the sea, so children can swim and play there safely. In the high season, there is lifeguard supervision.
The whole area, along the coast and especially in the nature reserve La Clape, offers excellent walking and cycling possibilities, good cycling paths connect Les Ayguades with Gruissan, Narbonne-Plage and Narbonne.
The wine museum "La Cite de la Vigne et du Vin" is worth a visit.
Interesting are the salt pans of Ile Saint Martin, with an ecomuseum on the history of salt production.
In Gruissan there is a windsurfing and sailing school. Near Ayguades there is a riding school, where you can make trips through La Clape on horseback. In the summer there is a kart track, mini-golf and an amusement park for children.
Narbonne (10 km) is a real Mediterranean city with squares and the beautiful cathedral Saint-Just with the adjacent monastery.
Abbaye Fontfroide: a magnificent 11th century abbey, 14 km south-west of Narbonne; absolutely worth a visit with its beautiful cloister.
Furthermore, also Beziers (30 km), Sete (80 km), Perpignan (80 km), the medieval fortified city of Carcassonne (75 km) and even Barcelona (200 km) are easily accessible and very worthwhile.

Further remarks
We rent two more cottages in Gruissan, cottage La Clape and cottage L'Etang. They are similar cottages to cottage Lagoon and are located in the neighbourhood around the beach lake 2oo metres from the lagoon and 12 minutes' walk from the beach.
