The house
Are you ready for a wonderful, peaceful holiday? Then you have come to the right place at Les Armengauds! As there are no children, our entire domaine radiates tranquillity.
On our beautiful holiday paradise, we have set up 4 comfortable gîtes in the old Provençal-style farmhouse. They are fully equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, private bathroom and terraces with garden furniture. The beautiful authentic character has been preserved.
By the swimming pool you can quietly read or enjoy the beautiful view. Or have a drink on our cosy terrace. In high season, you can regularly join the delicious table d'hôtes and cosy barbecue in the evening. Or come to the cosy common room with TV (satellite), reading corner, games and information about the area.
La Maison is our largest and most authentic accommodation. The beautiful holiday home is fully equipped for 4 adults. As the name suggests, this gîte is the home of our beautiful Provençal-style farmhouse built in 1860.
The holiday home consists of two floors with a large living kitchen with fireplace, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom and an extra toilet in the hall.
The south-facing terrace and garden have magnificent views and the most beautiful sunsets.
There are 2 terraces so you can choose whether to enjoy the sun or shade at any time. On the terraces you will find a dining table, sofa and armchairs and sunbeds.
Inside the gîte you will find:
- Entrance hall with 2 luxury armchairs
- Cosy kitchen with fireplace and large kitchen table
- Fully equipped with fridge, four-burner gas hob with oven, dishwasher, filter coffee machine, kettle
- Bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet
- Two bedrooms: one bedroom with a King-size double bed of 180 x 200 and one bedroom with two single beds of 90 x 200 that can be pushed together to form a second bed of 180 x 200
- Extra toilet in the hall on the ground floor
- Standing fan
You can also use (in mid- and high season) the common room containing TV (sat), reading corner, games, information on the area.

Les Armengauds is at the end of a country road with fields of wheat and sunflowers on one side and the wooded foot of the Montagne Noire on the other.
In the immediate surroundings, you can enjoy walking and cycling. In the town of Revel (5 km) you will find the pleasant Saturday morning market with regional products.
The Canal du Midi runs 10 kilometres away through Castelnaudary, also known for the regional dish cassoulet.
Our holiday paradise is on the route of the Pays Cathare, famous for its ancient castles. In less than an hour's drive you can be in famous Carcassonne, Toulouse or Albi. In an hour and a half you can be on the beach at the Mediterranean Sea or driving through the Pyrenees.
You can go further afield:
- At Lac Saint Féréol (5 kilometres) you can swim, surf, sail, play tennis, mini-golf, ride horses and go hiking
- For the real hiker, the GR7 (grande randonneé) which crosses the Haute Languedoc is 3 kilometres away
- Canal du Midi (10 km) hiking, cycling (cycle path) and mountain biking
- Cave visits (10 minutes away)
- Gliding (3 kilometres away)

Een heerlijk rustig onderkomen a la Campagne aan de voet van de Montagne Noire. Mooie omgeving waar je kunt genieten en van alles kan ondernemen. Al het geen wat er op de website staat is waar! We hebben genoten van het zijn in de gite, gelegen aan het goed onderhouden zwembad. Zo is de gehele tuin een plaatje. De gite straalt een knusse sfeer uit en heeft alles wat nodig is. De twee terrassen aan weerszijde van het huis zijn een uitkomst voor de keuze van schaduw of zonneschijn. Een plek waar je vaker wilt verblijven en dat hebben we de afgelopen jaren gedaan. Soms met de caravan op een ruime staanplaats met alle voorzieningen bij de hand en nu de afgelopen weken in gite Lavande. Genoten van het 3 gangen diner , wat met veel smaak en kundigheid door Marion is klaar gemaakt. Cax regelt de zaken perfect en mocht er toch iets zijn dan staat ze voor je klaar.

Gite met een recent verbouwde nieuwe keuken. Alles is aanwezig. Ruime terrassen aan beide zijde waar je rustig kunt zitten. Wij hebben genoten van een heerlijk zwembad met uitzicht. Ook de maaltijden van Marion zijn goed verzorgd. We hebben het ons laten smaken. Een vriendelijk ontspannen sfeer. Het was een heerlijke week.

We zijn afgelopen weekend thuisgekomen van een heerlijke vakantie bij Les Armengauds. De gite Lavende was een fijne plek om in te verblijven. Netjes, schoon en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. Goed zwembad. Een mooie omgeving waar veel te doen en te zien is. Marion en Cax zijn hele vriendelijke, gastvrije mensen en het eten was ook iedere keer weer heerlijk! Kortom voor ons zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.
Restaurants, food & wine
In high season, we organise a cosy Saturday evening barbecue with a choice of meat, fish or vegetarian. Of course with a buffet full of nice salads and sauces.
During the week, you can then sign up for a three-course menu, with the same choice of fish, meat or all-vegetarian. On Sunday evening, we usually serve meal salads.
We make everything ourselves and work with fresh and local products as much as possible. We only ask you what you prefer not to eat. You can safely leave the rest to us.
We have agreed with our local artisanal baker that he will bring us delicious fresh bread every day in high season. You can place your order the night before, before 6pm.
Languedoc has the largest wine production in France. Wine lovers have a great choice, such as Corbières, Malpère, Minervois and the Blanquette de Limoux.
For other culinary needs, visit renowned restaurants in La Pomarède and Saint Félix (both have a Michelin star) or one of the many small restaurants nearby.
Activities
At our domaine for adults, you can enjoy a sun lounger by our quiet pool, have a drink on our cosy terrace and, in high season, join us a few times a week for the delicious table d'hôte or BBQ. For even more relaxation, join a yoga class taught by Marion. In the immediate vicinity, you can hike, cycle, swim in fine lakes or play golf. Time seems to have stood still a little in this part of France. The villages and markets are authentic and cosy. A visit to the famous city of Carcassonne and beautiful Toulouse should not be missing on your to-do list. As is a beautiful trip through the Montagne noire or the Pyrenees. Of course, doing nothing is also allowed, because our domaine and its surroundings are perfect for that!

Les Armengauds is a holiday paradise for adults (16 years and over) looking for peace, relaxation, nature, culture and culinary delights.
On the 6-hectare domaine with beautiful gardens and breathtaking views, you will find four stylishly furnished gites and a small-scale campsite with 25 spacious pitches.
In high season, you can enjoy the table d'hôte or barbecue a few times a week. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.

If you want to enjoy an extra long stay, you will receive a 10% discount on the second and following weeks.
Rates are based on 2 persons. For additional persons we charge 10 euros per night per person.
In high season, we rent our accommodation from 7 days. Outside the high season, it is also possible to rent for a shorter period. Just ask us about the possibilities.
You are welcome from 4 pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, you may use your accommodation until 10 am.
Both final cleaning and tourist tax are included in our rates. Use of the wifi is also free.
The gîtes are equipped with duvets and pillows. You can bring your own bed linen and towels or rent them from us.
