The house
The spacious, comfortable holiday home La Ganiere is located on the flanks of the most beautiful natural park in France, the Cevennes. The house is situated in an enclosed garden with a swimming pool on the edge of a small village.
The holiday home La Ganiere has two double bedrooms and an adjoining children's room with two cots or a small single bed. So it is perfect for 4 adults and has space for one or two children.
The house has a large driveway for three upto three cars for guests staying at La Ganière. You reach the living area via an external staircase that leads to a spacious terrace on the first floor. At the front of the house there is also a large ground floor terrace with patio furniture, and also a long table under a pergola covered with vines and wisteria. This terrace opens into the garden with swimming pool.
The gite consists of a living room, 2 main bedrooms (1 double and 1 double or twin) and an additional children's room (connected to one of the double bedrooms), 1 bathroom with shower, toilet and sink and a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and microwave. WIFI connection throughout the gîte. In the storage room you will find various outdoor games and some tennis and badminton rackets that you can use. There is a tennis court within walking distance of our gite.

The owners live on site in a separate area and maintain the garden and pool daily. They rent a 1 bedroom cottage on the property with its own entrance, patio and parking space. You share the garden and swimming pool with guests of La Petite Ganière.

The holiday home is located on the outskirts of the village of Gagnières and owes its name to the river La Ganière that flows near our house. The house is detached and is situated in an enclosed garden of 1250 m2 with a spacious swimming pool and unobstructed views of the Cevennes. The bakery, a small shop and some restaurants can be reached on foot or by bike. A large supermarket can be reached within 10 minutes by car.
What does the region have to offer? The holiday home is an excellent base for exploring both the Cevennes and the South Ardeche. In the Cevennes you can combine nature, culture and sports activities well. You can take beautiful walks or bike rides and swim in the clear bathing water of the many rivers along the way. Those who want more of a challenge can go rafting, canoeing or kayaking from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. In addition, there are dozens of castles and museums in our area, not to mention beautiful old villages such as Barjac, St. Ambroix and Les Vans where there is a flea market every week. The Gard also has many activities to offer for children.
In terms of location, Gagnières is perfect for visiting Provencal towns such as Avignon, Nîmes, Orange and Uzès. The Mediterranean can be reached in an hour and a half.

La Petite is een fijn vakantiehuis voor 2 personen en van alle gemakken voorzien. Goede uitrusting en zelfs satelliet tv voor de avonden incl. Nederlandse zenders.Fijn en uitstekend onderhouden zwembad.Koffers moeten in tuinhuisje (annex )worden geplaatst.
Mooie trips in de Cevennen te maken .Anduze met stoomtrein is erg leuk(Kijk uit voor roetneerslag van de locomotief!)Auberge des Enclos is aan te bevelen. Voor de De eigenaren Gary en Sarah is niets teveel en zijn zeer behiulpzaam en gastvrij.Top!Heleen from Eeklo,
We verbleven met 2 gezinnen 2 weken in deze woning.
We hebben genoten van ons verblijf! Het is een cosy huis met de tuin als grootste troef. Het is gelegen in heel mooie omgeving waarin je veel activiteiten kan doen.
Sarah en Gary zijn ook heel goed gastheren. Ze staan altijd klaar om je te helpen maar respecteren toch heel erg je privacy. Kortom: een aanrader!Comment from Gary en Sarah Naylor-Butter

Sarah and Gary are a great team. They do everything to make you feel comfortable, help you with selecting restaurants (even booking) and have a great insight in the environment leading to marvelous tips. They even recommend us to visit a temporary exhibition which as an off-the scale experience.
The gite is situated in a nice part of France with lots of options. Our daily walk to the boulanger for fresh croissants was a great start of the day.
Whilst some other gites have a minimalistic inventory, this gite has a fully equipped kitchen (even with the basics like coffee, herbs etc). Bathroom is nice and bedrooms are good.
Lastly the garden, equipped with beds and chairs, and pool are a great please to relax and enjoy life.

Restaurants, food & wine
The food in the Gard is very delicious and blessed with the powerful aroma of the Mediterranean areas with olive oil, garlic and southern herbs such as thyme, rosemary, bay leaf and saffron.
The coastal areas offer a wide variety of fish and seafood, inland we are endowed with "légumes de soleil" such as peppers, aubergines and courgettes and also strawberries, cherries, peaches and melons in different seasons.
There is a growing number of bistros and restaurants that will appeal to all tastes and budgets! Look forward to "formulas" for a good, well-prepared weekday midday meal.
Activities
The holiday home is an ideal base for exploring the Gard, the Cevennes and the South Ardèche. There are too many activities to list them all! We have a great selection of current information brochures and we can also give you ideas for day trips. Here are a few...
You can swim in the rivers in the area such as the Cèze, La Ganière, Chassezac (early or late season) and the Gorges de l'Ardeche (all seasons). You will also find beautiful gorges and beaches. The Lac de Villefort, a large mountain lake, is also recommended. In addition to good bathing water and various beaches, there is also a good walking path around the entire lake.
For those who want to spend the day more actively, there are several options in the immediate vicinity. You can take breathtaking canoe trips of different lengths. In addition, there are endless opportunities for hiking, cycling / mountain biking in the endless rolling hills in the area.
You can also view the area on horseback. Guided horseback rides are organized by the horse farm "le Malibaud". If you are interested in flora and fauna, the boat trip with the "Confrerie de bateliers de l'Ardeche" is a must. They organize day trips through the "Réserve Naturelle", one of the most beautiful protected natural areas in France.
Would you rather play a game of golf? Then you can play on the 18-hole golf course in Nîmes.
There is also a wide variety of activities for children. You will find excitement and thrills at the Grand Bois. Curious how crocodiles live? Visit the crocodile zoo. For children and adults, you can also visit the Haribo Museum near Uzès.
It is fun for the whole family to take a trip through the Cevennes with the Anduze steam train. This tour can easily be combined with a visit to the bamboo forest "La Bambouseraie".

Further remarks
Holiday home "Gîtes La Ganière" is a large house with two independent gîtes. These have independent entrances and external amenities and share the driveway and spacious gardens and pool. Both gites have their own outdoor seating area with tables and sun loungers, as well as a BBQ and a towel and clothes dryer.
"La Petite" is a well-appointed and modern bedroom with a double bed and a large sofa bed. It can accommodate up to 4 people.
"La Grande" can accommodate up to 10 people with its four double bedrooms plus an adjoining children's room. Outside the high season we sometimes only rent the first floor (called "La Ganière") - two bedrooms and the adjacent children's room.
Security deposit via the online “Swikly” of €500 (La Ganière/La Grande) or €200 (La Petite) to be paid at least 7 days prior to arrival and refundable within 5 days of departure.
