The house
Completely renovated in the spring of 2017. Villa Lys is a wonderful 8-person villa with light and space and has a big open kitchen with cosy salon and 4 bedrooms. Also 2 bathrooms and 2 separate toilets.
Outside you will find a lovely relax pool in nice natural stone. 1 Beautiful garden on the sunny south, 1 garden with a view over the valley and river. The third garden is lays stretched out, under the trees, with different views over the beautiful houses and the unique little church. The house always has sunny and shadow places, all day long. Peacefully situated in La Roque sur Cèze.
Villa Lys is situated in a protected monumental village that’s on the list of Frances 140 most beautiful villages. Wat makes Villa Lys unique is the ambiance of the house, very natural, situated in a calm side road. It is a lovely area to make hikes, just 5 minutes away from the river the Cèze.
The wonderful waterfalls ‘Cascades de Sautadet’ are at a 10 minutes’ walk. In 15 minutes by car you are in the centre of Goudargues and Bagnols sur Cèze.
Villa Lys has 3 beautiful gardens where you can lie down, relax, barbecue, sunbathe, eat and drink….

Villa Lys is the perfect base for discovering the various regions as the camp site is situated at the intersection of the Ardèche, Cévennes, Provence and the Rhône Valley.
The Gard département is, both in nature and lifestyle, typically mediterranean. This region boasts almost 300 days of sunshine per year! This southern paradise contains a wealth of beautiful and enchanting landscapes and offers a wide range of attractions which have a uniquely historical and cultural heritage. You need look no further; you are in the South of France!
La Roque sur Cèze has earned the title “One of France’s most beautiful villages’ since 2008. Thanks partially to the imposing waterfall, the Cascades du Sautadet and its narrow medieval entrance bridge, the Pont Charles Martel.

Wij verbleven in Villa Lys met 6 personen waarvan 2 peuters van 1,5 jaar jong en hebben een fantastische tijd gehad. Ik zal voor het gemak onze punten onder elkaar verwerken;
* moderne en stijlvolle villa die voorzien is van alle gemakken
* De vrijheid om naast het zwembad bij de villa ook gebruik te kunnen maken van het zwembad op de camping is ideaal. Het zwembad bij de villa was iets te koud voor de kleintjes en daarom zijn we regelmatig gaan zwemmen op de camping, daar was het water warmer
* Binnen een straal van 50 km zo ontzettend veel mooie dorpjes/steden om te bezoeken (Orange, Nimes, Avignon, Goudargues, etc.)
* De medewerkers/eigenaars zijn enorm aardig/behulpzaam en hebben tijd voor je bij vragen of hulp.Kortom we hebben met z'n alle een super tijd gehad en geven niet voor niets een 9 als cijfer. Wij zouden de villa/omgeving bij een ieder zonder probleem aanraden. Ondanks dit alles hadden wij wel 3 kleine puntjes om het nog beter te maken.
* 5 ventilatoren i.p.v. 2, zodat je op elkaar slaapkamer er een tot je beschikking hebt en in de woonkamer.
* iets meer grotere drink glazen, bij 40 graden heb je veel dorst.
* een extra set beddengoed zodat je in de periode dat je er bent, deze kan vervangen i.v.m. warmte in de nacht.hoe dan ook een echte aanrader, bedankt voor de fijne vakantie.

The beautiful towns of Avignon, Nîmes, Uzès and Orange are witness to a cultural and religious way of life. These destinations are within one hour of the camp site. Both local and tourist products are on sale at the many weekly markets: olive oil, goat cheese, lavender oil, herbs, conserves. Be sure not to miss the ‘brocantes’ second-hand pottery markets or the medieval feasts.
Activities
The diversity of the countryside around Villa Lys is attractive to walkers, swimmers, anglers, sun-worshippers, mountain bikers and cyclists. You can navigate the Cèze or Ardèche in a canoe or kayak alongside pebbly beaches and magnificent rocks. There are more than 300 kilometres of marked out paths that criss-cross this region. Stroll through vineyards, fields of lavender, besides rivers and through woods. Most paths are also accessible for horse riders.
