The property is located on the village square of Saint-Denis in region de Gard. An 8-minute drive from Saint-Ambroix and also a 15-minute drive from Barjac. Old buildings, quaint little streets. Within walking distance swimming river Cèze for some sunbathing, reading or a fresh (morning) swim. A quiet area but not remote. Within no time you are at all the beautiful sights the Gard and the Ardèche have to offer. There is always something to do that suits you. The same property also houses gîte Romarin, Anis and Lavande.

Wij zijn hier 2 weken geweest en hebben geen een saaie dag! Er is in deze buurt zo ontzettend veel te doen en we hebben er erg van genoten. In het begin met vaak 40C + waren we vaak in de Cevennen en in riviertjes. Later hebben we ook Nîmes, Avignon, en Montpellier bezocht. De Romeinse bouwwerken in Nîmes vonden wij bijzonder indrukwekkend, net zo als de Pont du Gard. En omdat 2000 jaar nog lang niet oud genoeg was hebben nog de Grotte Chauvet 2 bezocht met 36.000 jaar oude tekeningen. Heel bijzonder! Maar dat was natuurlijk niet het enige mooie. Elke avond terug naar dit verschrikkelijk smaak,- en liefdevol ingericht huisje; wat heel mooi gerestaureerd is en waar we ons altijd heel erg op ons gemak voelden. Daar zijn we heel erg dankbaar voor en ook voor de vele tips die we kregen voor activiteiten in de buurt. (Kano en La Banque zijn leuk.) Heel erg bedankt!

Na een tocht door Frankrijk zijn we neergestreken in het mooie dorpje Saint-Denis. Na een hartelijk ontvangst van de hosts zijn we onze koffers uit gaan pakken in deze prachtige Olive gîte. Alles is schoon, netjes en mooi ingericht. Heerlijk om in te verblijven. We blijven hier 5 dagen en hebben er erg veel zin in! Wat we persoonlijk erg fijn vonden is de goed verzorgde map die op tafel lag. Voor ieder wat wils te doen hier in de buurt en alles is fijn en duidelijk opgeschreven. Wij hebben in ieder geval een heerlijk tijd gehad en heerlijk ontspannen. Wij hopen dat jullie ook genieten van de heerlijke ontspannen sfeer zodat wij dat gedaan hebben!

We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad in Gites Olive! De gites is ruim en goed ingericht, met een mooie badkamer en goede keuken. De locatie is ook fijn, veel te doen in de buurt en prachtige omgeving. De hosts Richard en Marjan reageren snel en attent. Aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
Barjac (Gard) is 15 minutes away from the gite and has numerous restaurants and terraces. Every Friday there is a beautiful market in Barjac where you can buy delicious tapas, olives, cheeses, vegetables, bread and wines and other typical French products. In the Gard, there are many wine houses where you can taste and buy wine. But also on the many markets in the area, the wine houses are often represented. On every day of the week, you could visit a market.
Activities
The village of Saint-Denis is located in region Gard and near the Ardeche. Between Barjac and Saint-Ambroix. There are plenty of activities to do and sights to see. Beautiful cities such as Nîmes, Avignon, Aubenas, Uzès, Arles, Montpellier are all in the region. Especially in the Ardèche there is much to do such as canoeing, cycling, the climbing forest, beautiful cities, hiking and swimming in the rivers. The historic Pont du Gard (Roman aqueduct) is worth a visit but the impressive Gorges de L'Ardèche is also nearby. There are wonderful caves to visit, also a super fun outing for children. In the Cevennes, a nature reserve, you can hike and for the cycling enthusiast, Mont Ventoux or Mont Bouquet are in the region. Everything is possible in this area, beautiful cities, nice trips, culture or sports. But also those nice markets; every day there is a market somewhere like Barjac, Saint-Ambroix, Joyeuse, Uzès, too much to mention! At walking distance from Gîtes NouLou is the Cèze river. There you can swim, sunbathe, play, fish or relax under the trees. Ideal for children but also for adults. We offer a wagon so you can easily take your things with you. A ladies' and men's sports bikes (with child seat) are also available.

Further remarks
Gîtes Olive of gîtes NouLou is on the ground floor of the property directly on the village square. The kitchen and 1 bedroom have French doors to this square which also have shutters against the (sun) light. The entrance is through a coeur, which is the central entrance to NouLou's 4 flats. As the gîte does not have its own terrace, you may also use this central hall where there is a fine, large dining set. Gîte Olive is a fine base for active guests who go out during their holiday and then return to a gîte equipped with all amenities. A spacious gîte that is competitively priced.
