The house
l'Amandier is a very fully furnished cottage, romantic with many old details and beautiful old tiled floors.
With a lovely swimming pool (6x2 m).
The interior is a mix of antiques, brocante and modern comfort.
The house is situated at the edge of the special hamlet Cazo, near Saint-Chinian.
From the Mediterranean garden you can walk straight into the vineyards. The garden is completely fenced and closed by a fence.
In the garden there is enough garden furniture to relax.
The sunny garden, located on the South-West, also has several shaded areas. The setting suns and skies are often beautiful!
Through the garden and the covered terrace you enter the spacious kitchen (electric oven, induction, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine, Nespresso, kettle etc) and the salon. From the salon, via a few steps, you enter the second salon with the TV and a DVD player Here is also a work table with excellent wifi reception.
From the living room you pass through a hallway to the toilet, the pantry, with a large 2nd fridge with freezer and the downstairs bedroom a staircase to the second bedroom.
The downstairs bedroom has a double bed (160 X200) and an ensuite bathroom with shower and washbasin.
The upstairs bedroom has 2 beds of 90 x200 and a third bed of 85 x 180 and an ensuite bathroom with washbasin, bath (shower) and toilet.
There is central heating, which makes the house very suitable for a winter stay (for a longer stay in the low season we have of course different tariffs).
The house has a glass fibre internet connection.

l'Amandier is situated on the edge of a small rural hamlet; Cazo. Just a few kilometres from the lively market town of Saint-Chinian (Thursdays and Sundays a great local market, cosy and delicious fresh produce direct from the producer (don't forget to try the oysters!).
There is a walk to Saint-Chinian via small goat tracks, a bit of a search, but it is the old route to Saint-Chinian.
Cazo is surrounded by vineyards, directly from the house there are special walks.
There is no through road, no traffic, at most a tractor on its way to the vineyards.

Wij hebben als gezin met hond een heerlijk verblijf gehad in L'Amandier. Prachtig huis en van alle gemakken voorzien. Het kleine dorpje Cazo met zijn honden was zeer bijzonder. De kinderen vonden alle honden geweldig. De omgeving was prachtig. De centrale ligging ten opzichte van mooie steden, de zee en natuurgebieden gaf ons de beste combinatie voor onze vakantie. We vonden het jammer om na een week deze bijzondere plek weer te verlaten en komen zeker terug.

Communicatie verloopt perfect in de aanloop naar de vakantie en ook tijdens het verblijf.

we zijn een kleine week in l'amandier geweest. echt een heerlijk comfortabel huis, zeer smaakvol ingericht en voorzien van alle luxe. ook groter dan het op de foto's lijkt.
het gehucht cazo is een betoverende plek, met heel veel lieve rondlopende honden. de rust daar is erg fijn, en vanuit het huis loop je zo de bergen in. echt een aanrader!
Restaurants, food & wine
The wine that is produced here has, due to the great efforts of the winegrowers, greatly improved in quality in recent years and can now easily compete with products from the more prestigious wine regions. Although there is still a lot of 'slobber wine' being produced, there are more and more, especially smaller winegrowers, who are planting new grape varieties and who are supplementing their tradition with new techniques and ideas. This often results in surprising wines!
You can taste wines at the various wine farmers and in Saint-Chinian at Maison du Vins, where the best Saint Chinian wines are sold. And the Cave de Saint-Chinian and also that of Roquebrun sell delicious wines.
The region is also developing enormously in the culinary field. You can eat from the simplest to the most refined in numerous restaurants in Saint-Chinian and its surroundings.
Activities
Swimming is possible in the vicinity in the river Orb, in the house you will find a folder, with various tips and also a list of our favourite swimming spots.
The Mediterranean Sea is about 40 minutes away.
Also interesting are the cities: Béziers (30 min), Narbonne (40 min) and Montpellier (75 min).
In the summer there are regular brocante markets in Saint Chinian, on Saturday and Wednesday mornings.
The house has a folder with tips for nice restaurants in the area.
In Saint-Chinian there is a 'Bureau du Tourisme' where they will be happy to tell you more about the local and regional activities such as the village festivals which often last 2 or 3 days, the antique and brocant markets, 'vide greniers' and flea markets, the big Festa d'Oc and the Féria in Béziers or the festival of Carcassonne. Wine tastings and concerts are also organised.

Languedoc-Rousillon and Provence-Côte d'Azur are the two regions in France with a Mediterranean climate. In general, this means warm summers and mild winters with relatively little precipitation.
