The house
In French Tuscany, the Lot department, on a 20 ha estate in a nature area we offer two restored holiday homes.
Besides the cozy tower house "La Garconniere" (4p) we offer you the beautiful gite "La Bouteille dans le Bois" for 6 people. "La Bouteille dans le bois" and "La Garconniere" share a large pool.
The houses are situated in a private valley with oak forests, ancient roads, sunflowers and lavender.
The villa has large terraces with stunning views and is entirely on the ground floor. The house is very spacious, with a big living and dining room connected with the open plan kitchen. Furthermore, two large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. (two showers, two toilets and a bath tub) All rooms have double French doors leading to the large south facing terraces. There is also a large covered terrace adjacent to the living room.
The house is very complete and luxuriously furnished, with washing machine, dishwasher, satellite TV , central heating, wood burner, BBQ, ample garden furniture, hairdryer, etc. All beds are 2m. long and new. Baby cot and baby chairs are available on request. WIFI connection.
The large pool is located about 250m from the house.

This region has a long history, as you can see in the many ancient fortified towns, forts and castles. The landscape resembles Italian Tuscany, but with more trees, especially in our own valley and surrounding area. There are walking and biking trails in all directions.We are on the edge of the Cahors wine area.
The smaller towns surrounding us are: Montcuq, Montaigu de Quercy, Lauzerte and Tournon. The larger towns are about 30-40 minutes driving: Cahors, Montauban, Agen and Villeneuve sur Lot.

Superweek gehad met het hele gezin op het uitgestrekte landgoed van Kees en Trix in vakantiehuis La Gaconniere. De oude pigeonnier is evenals de rest van de opstallen geheel in Franse plattelandsstijl verbouwd tot een knus huis met meerdere terrassen en zitjes, waarbij alles piekfijn op orde is. Het is een zeer aangename plek midden in 'de pays' waar je in alle opzichten tot rust komt. Wij kregen ook nog de beschikking over de koele en ruime master bedroom in het hoofdgebouw. Een mooi voorbeeld van optimale (en vooral niet-opdringerige) gastvrijheid. Een bijzondere prestatie dat dit kleine paradijs in 30 jaar tijd van één vervallen boerderij is omgetoverd tot iets heel moois. Het is ook een heel geestige plek vanwege de prachtige 9 holes privé golfbaan waar wij dagelijks onze rondjes liepen en vanwege de hobby van de eigenaar die verderop een eigen airstrip heeft voor zijn privévliegtuig! Ook voor niet-golfers en niet-vliegers is een aanrader. Er is veel te doen in de omgeving en 's middags is het heerlijk ontspannen bij het zwembad met een borrel en goed gezelschap! Een 10 omdat ik werkelijk niets kon bedenken waarom een 9 voldoende zou zijn. Veel gasten komen jaarlijks terug en dat zegt genoeg!

Wat een fantastische locatie, wat een rust, wat een buitengewoon fraai afgewerkt huisje (we zaten in la garçonnière), wat een heerlijk zwembad en ook nog een privé golfbaan! Kortom: 2 weken puur genieten. Ook van de gastvrijheid van de eigenaren. Een aanrader! En een vette tien!

Vier weken hebben mijn man en ik vakantie mogen vieren in dit sfeervolle huis in het bos. Van het begin af aan voelden wij ons hier thuis. De bosrijke omgeving met een weids uitzicht vanuit het huis en de terrassen geeft veel rust en heerlijke schaduwplekken. Er blijven voldoende zonnige stukken over! De video die de gastheer op de website heeft geplaatst geeft precies de sfeer en luxe weer. De gastheer en -vrouw met de stafleden zorgen ervoor dat het verblijf optimaal blijft, we voelden ons heel welkom. Ieder seizoen heeft een eigen sfeer; wij hebben de hele maand juni mogen ervaren. Er nog een keer in dit huis vakantie te vieren lijkt mij een fijn vooruitzicht.

As mentioned before, we are in the area of Cahors wines. There are restaurants everywhere with cosy terraces, both on market places and in the countryside.
We are happy to advise our guests who enjoy eating out well, we have an extensive restaurant list ready for you.
Activities
You can make wonderful trips through the rolling countryside, where you can visit caves, go horseback riding, hiking, cycling, canoeing, gliding, parachuting, golf (even on our own property), tennis, there is too much to list here.
There are many monuments in the region of former times, you would need weeks to visit everything. There are many weekly markets, of which the best known is in Montcuq. Plus many flea markets and ' brocante ', jazz evenings and wine festivals.

The house is available the whole year round and we ask you to clean the house before you leave, final cleaning can be done for you against an additional surcharge.
This home has access to free WIFI.
Deposit 200 Euro. Electricity and heating are included in the energy costs.
Tourist tax is included.
Please bring your own bed linens and towels, linen and towel rental is possible for 12 euros per person per week.
