The house
Gite Monet is part of the old house together with Gite Matisse (also found on this booking site).
The holiday home has three spacious bedrooms and two luxurious bathrooms. On the ancient black and white tiled floor is a large living room with a cosy sitting area in front of the fireplace and TV. The luxury kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, oven/microwave and dishwasher and has a six-person dining table.
Gite Monet has a private terrace on the Lot with dining table and lounge set. From the terrace, the (shared) swimming pool is easily accessible It is an and lovely place to enjoy the view over the river in the shade.

Domaine La Croze is located in Vire sur Lot, right on the Lot River. The park-like garden contains a lovely swimming pool and a tennis court. A small sandy beach is 100 metres away for lovers.

Wat een fijne plek! Ruim, veel privacy. Tennisbaan en zwembad veel gebruikt. Mooie wandelpaden en hardloop/fiets mogelijkheden. Prachtig gelegen, vlakbij leuke dorpjes en goede restaurantjes, zeer vriendelijke gastheer en gastvrouw.
Restaurants, food & wine
Cahors is a well-known wine region. La Croze is located among the vineyards of several (very) good wineries. These can be visited without appointment. There are also many good restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The village of Puy l'Evêque is about a five-minute drive away (35-minute walk) and has a local market on Tuesdays.
Activities
Enjoying the water
The Lot river offers every opportunity for water sports. If you want to bring your own boat, this is possible. There is a boat ramp a short distance away and La Croze offers space to moor the boat. A 5-minute drive away you will find the pretty village of Puy-L'Eveque. This is where daily boat trips depart in summer and where you can rent canoes.
As La Croze is located on the River Lot, it is a lovely place to relax or enjoy the sound of the rushing water with a good book.
Tennis
La Croze has a tennis court that you can use free of charge. Tennis rackets and balls are also available.
Yoga and Pilates
Hostess Barbara gives both private/semi private and group lessons in Yoga and Pilates classes (on request). She has gained years of experience all over the world. She enjoys helping people deepen their 'practice' as well as possible physical discomforts that can sometimes be easily remedied by certain exercises or stretches.
Cycling and walking
The area is ideal for cycling and walking. Several routes are signposted. The so-called Voies Vertes run for about 140km along the river and part of it is in our backyard!
Markets, vide greniers
The Lot is known for its many markets and vide greniers where you might be able to buy a unique piece for a small price.
Marché gourmand
In summer, many Marché gourmands are organised. Sit down at long tables and enjoy the delicacies and wines of the region.
Golfing
There are several golf courses in the area. A 10-minute drive away is the 9-hole La Bouysset golf course.
Beautiful French cities and chateaux
The Lot contains numerous beautiful cities such as Cahors or Figeac where you can admire the architecture or just go shopping, drinking or eating. The nearby Château Bonaguil is also worth a visit.

In the early and late season, the gites can also be booked for a minimum of 4 nights and the arrival and departure days are flexible. During high season, arrival and departure days are on Saturdays.
