The house
Gite Verdier:
A centrally heated six person gîte combining mod cons with flavours of the past. At ground level: hall, two bathrooms, a spacious and cosy living room (50m2) with a splendid old hearth, a well-equipped open kitchen and dining area with a wonderfull big cederwood table plus a secluded patio with a great view. Upstairs you find three comfortable bedrooms i.e. two bedrooms for 2persons (double or single bed) and one room for 4persons (2 single or 1 double bed and 1 bunkerbed 2x1p)

This magnificent fortified 'mas' consists of several buildings erected in the typical style of the region with slate and granite. With its archways, alleys, cellars and courtyards it is a small world in itself, surrounded by terraces with fruit and chestnut trees, sheltered fields and meadows with sheep and goats. After centuries of bristling life, alternating with periods of silence and idleness, La Donzelenche, age-old but not worn-out, has now been restored to its old glory.

Prachtige locatie, uitzonderlijk verblijf met toffe gastheren Eva en Hans. Ze hebben een mooi plaatsje gecreëerd.
Je kan er heel lekker eten en hun bier 'la Donzelle" en vlierbloesemdrankje is subliem.

We hebben erg genoten van ons verblijf in huisje de Donzel op de mas Donzellence. Ontzettend leuk huis, goed verbouwd en van alle gemakken voorzien. Een heerlijk "eigen" balkonnetje, maar je kon naar eens ook een ander plekje op de mas uitzoeken om even te gaan zitten. Eigen kookgelegenheid maar Eva en Hans kookten ook regelmatig voor gasten die dat wensten en die op tijd hiervoor reserveerden. Wat een heerlijk gastvrije gastheren zijn zij. Echt complimenten. Hun doel was dat iedereen zich heerlijk op zijn gemak kon voelen en een heerlijke vakantie bij hen beleefden. Beneden bij de rivier kon je heerlijk zwemmen en de mas is een heerlijk vertrekpunt voor het verkennen van de prachtige Cevennen.

The stay on the mas, and the many idyllic spots the yard and the grounds have to offer, it will leave an indelible impression behind. You would almost forget the many possibilities the surroundings have too offer. Its the ideal position to explore the Lozère and the Gard. Rough beauty and rich nature of the ` Lozere' and the Park national the Cevennes, the charm of the Mediterranean it all lies in range. It offers in abundance reason for excursions (by foot, on bicycle, by horse or by car), pick-nicks .There are a lot of sport-loving possibilities (e.g. cycle, climb, cannoning,rafting,cave exploration,).
