The house
This ancient water mill has been artistically converted into three comfortable homes which are completely self-contained . Standing in 4 acres of meadows clothed with wild orchids in Spring, colourful butterflies and soaring buzzards, bordered by a tranquil stream fondly known as the babbling brook which is ideal for paddling on a hot summers day.
Le Moulinet occupies the lower floor of the mill overlooking the tumbling stream and peaceful countryside beyond. A walled private sheltered terrace provides a charming entrance to our recently renovated cottage. Le Moulinet possesses a comfortable sitting room complete with a wood-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom consisting of shower, wc and washbasin.
All gites share a communal automatic washing machine except La Grange which has its own situated in the kitchen.
Terrace areas come equipped with garden furniture and barbeques.
Free access to local village swimming pool and tennis courts only 5 minute walk.

We are peacefully situated within a picturesque valley in the lower Fenouilledes foothills of the Pyrenees standing midway between two small villages, Le Vivier and Fosse . This tranquil location makes it an ideal base for exploring the region or simply putting your feet up and relaxing. The closest airports are Perpignan (50 minutes), Carcassonne (1.5 hours), Gerona in Spain and Toulouse (2 hours) (low cost flights available with Ryan Air/Easyjet and Flybe airlines).

Prettig huisje met een mooie buitenruimte. Riviertje naast het huisje is voor kinderen erg leuk om in te spelen of voor een frisse duik. Gastvrouw Kate is erg aardig! Het huisje ligt in een erg mooie omgeving maar bakker, winkel of restaurantje zijn wel op afstand.

we hebben ontzettend genoten op deze idyllische plek. Regelmatig in het riviertje gezeten en daar naast vele vlinders en wat vis ook een otter/nerts gezien! We hadden warm contact met Kate en haar dochters. Ze gaven ons geweldige tips voor dagtochtjes en ze nodigden ons uit voor de plaatselijke pizza avond (gezellig!). Er stond een lekkere fles wijn klaar bij aankomst. Het huisje is niet bijzonder luxe, maar voor ons bracht dat juist ook wel charme mee. Het had alles wat we nodig hadden.

We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad in Le Moulinet: de gite is praktisch ingericht en via de trap naast het terras daal je af naar het riviertje. Onze kinderen van 4 en 6 hebben er veel in gespeeld! Het gratis openlucht zwembad op wandelafstand was zálig. Je kan vlakbij wandelen, en er zijn veel interessante bezienswaardigheden te bezoeken in de buurt (met de auto). En voor al onze vragen konden we steeds terecht bij Kate, zij is een fantastische 'gastvrouw'!
Restaurants, food & wine
Moulin de Perle is situated midway between two small villages. A plan d'eau, mini golf and tennis court are located in Le Vivier only 10 minutes walk and the quaint village of Fosse with its free open air swimming pool (summer only) and tennis court is 5 minutes walking distance in the opposite direction. Several bars/restaurants providing anything from a quick snack to a gourmet meal, a general store, bakery and butcher are located in Caudies 10 minutes drive and the larger village of St Paul ( 20 minutes drive ) offers several restaurants, banks, petrol stations, bakery, butcher, tabac and a medium sized Carrefour supermarket.
Activities
Eastern Pyrenees offers a wide range of activities that everyone can enjoy from adrenaline seeking adventures to quality family fun, all available within 15 minutes drive of our gites conducted by fully qualified instructors.
Swimming, golf, canoeing, horse riding, tennis, white water rafting, canyoning, trekking, mountain biking and many more are all available within 15 minutes drive or less.
There are countless walks to satisfy people of any state of fitness, the long distance GR 36 trekking route across the Pyrenees passes close to our complex as well as many others, details and maps available on request.
The gorgeous southern Pyrenees sunny climate makes the region a winter sports paradise with its great undiscovered slopes from Blue to Black, extensive Cross Country Trails all with fabulous mountainous scenery offering something for everyone whether skiing or sledging its hard to beat this superb location.

Additional price info and offers
Lettings are usually Saturday to Saturday, however we are happy to accept midweek bookings wherever possible – Mid and Low Seasons only. Short breaks and Bed and Breakfast are also possible subject to availability. Reductions are available in the low seasons for longer lets and bookings for two or more properties.
A damage deposit of 100 euros. is payable on arrival. This will be returned to you on departure assuming no damage is found.
