Two bedrooms with ample wardrobe space: Room A of 21m2 with a double bed (1.60 x2 m) and duvet, 2 single beds with duvets and spacious balcony with mountain views; Room B of 13m2 with twin beds and duvets overlooking the beautiful old village.
Two spacious bathrooms with shower , bidet and toilet.
A garage and utility room with washing machine, ironing board, iron and cleaning supplies.
A sunny natural stone terrace connects to the large natural garden, which is partially protected by a fence , approx 1000 mtr2. Your child and dog can be safely outside. Laroque des Albères is a picturesque Catalan village, at the foot of the Albères mountains, with a view of the Mediterranean and the Canigou (Pyrenees).
Our house is on the edge of the old village where there is still a lot of activity. You can do all your shopping at the local shop and there are cozy cafes,4restaurants with terrace.
The village lies south of Perpignan, where the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea meet: "the Côte Vermeille". At 8 km. lies Argelès, a modern seaside resort with lots of entertainment, bars, restaurants and beautiful sandy beaches. Until Argelès there are extensive sandy beaches and from there a rocky coast starts with numerous bays and beaches far into Spain.
The surrounding area is a very beautiful and interesting walking and cycling area. In the hills just behind the village you will find many small rivers and sources.
The greatest artists of the last century have discovered the beauty of this area and have found their inspiration here for short or long periods of time.
Matisse painted Collioure beautifully, Picasso worked in Ceret (which now houses a very good museum of modern art).

Restaurants, food & wine

Roussillon used to be known as the great wine region of France, and today so much has been done to improve its quality that a visit to the regional vineyards will be a pleasant outing for both the novice and the seasoned connoisseur.
Suggestions: Chateau Planères in St.- Jean -Lasseille ; Domaine Cazes in Rivesaltes (organic wine) and don't forget the wines in Banyuls and Colloure. Maury in the Fenouillède, has delicious sweet wines matured in a very special way.
For an introduction to the regional cuisine and wines, we recommend the restaurants "La Botiga" , Cote Saisons, Café des Artistes and Le Catalan in our village.

Activities

The nearby area is a very beautiful and interesting hiking area. The Grande Randonneés nos 9 and 10 start from Laroque.
In the area you can go cycling, horse riding, diving, surfing, golfing, sailing, boat trips. Collioure and its surroundings with its magnificent rocky coastline is an el dorado for diving.
Perpignan is a particularly lively southern French city with museums, the annual famous international Visa Exhibition of photojournalists. North of Perpignan lies the Cathar region. Historically a very interesting area with the castles like crow's nests stuck high up against the rocks.
The Languedoc/Roussillon wine region has developed into a leading wine region in the last 20 years. Many wineries can be visited. World-famous sweet wines are made in Banyuls.
A trip across the border to Spain also offers many possibilities. Figueras is a nice town for shopping and shopping at the farmers' market. And don't forget to visit Dali's museum.
