Very comfortable, underfloor heating everywhere, lots of light and a beautiful view! More and more guests, arriving by plane (Bergerac or Toulouse), renting a car, arrive here refreshed, to immediately start enjoying their holidays. It is an exceptional, very spacious and fully equipped house , specially designed for experiencing an unforgettable holiday. We have tried to directly intertwine the indoors and outdoors. The spacious covered terrace is an extension of the living room. Guests naturally make extensive use of it. The hall also emphasises the outdoors. From here, you can walk out onto the terrace again. The adjoining bedrooms have fine beds. and excellent mattresses. The cosy kitchen is accessible from all sides and fully equipped. Adjacent is a spacious utility room, with washing machine and large pantry. Internet, satellite receiver , Linen, tourist tax, heating costs, cleaning costs, gas and electricity, all all-in, no extra costs. The house is designed for epicureans - you will find peace, space , complete privacy and a particularly pleasant atmosphere. The lake, a sprinkler lake in front of our organic farm, completely surrounded by greenery and nature, is a wonderful place for picnics, barbecues , boating and of course swimming. Even if you want to go to France for a week in the less hot periods, "Plaine Basse" is the place to be! Very comfortable, underfloor heating everywhere, lots of light and a beautiful view! In summer you can enjoy the (organic) produce from our vegetable garden and the watermelons from our farm of 90 hectares. Upon arrival, the beds are made, towels and kitchen towels are waiting for you (please bring your own bath towels) and there is a basic supply. We can also take care of your groceries for the day of arrival. Upon request, a baby cot and/or high chair are available for you. Our own house is a little further away; so should you want to know anything or need help, we are nearby. If you have special requests, we will try to meet them. Electric cars are also welcome here; there is a charging socket. We offer everything to make your stay a success! We also do not stick to renting from Saturday to Saturday..... lots of risks , lots of traffic jams.... and try to rent flexibly on your preferred date...

La Plaine Basse is a spacious house, completely built with natural, local materials and in an authentic way. It is situated at about 4 km from Lauzerte, a medieval bastide town ("un des plus beaux villages de France") . Here you can eat out at various restaurants. Especially recommendable is the pizzeria "l'Etna", here completely in place because of the Tuscan-like landscape and especially because of the delicious pizzas, baked on a wood oven! (I point this out to you because this is the business of our son Marc). Also nearby, the cosy Montcuq ( with the "cosiest market" on Sunday morning). The Quercy, with its capital Montcuq, is a beautiful rural region with a lot of variation and a sloping landscape. Fields, meadows and forests alternate, with old villages and farms in between. It's a really nice area to explore or walk around...... Everyone agrees that we made the right choice at the time to come here, and after a few weeks of holidaying here, almost everyone feels like looking for something in this area as well. Over 25 years ago, we constructed a large irrigation lake (2 ha) that has gradually become one with nature. Here you can swim or have fun. The enjoyment of the lake is shared with some other guests of our family, but there is plenty of space and we have built a jetty with swimming steps especially for the guests of the Plaine Basse. There is a picnic table and a barbecue. It is not next to our house, but you can get there easily by car. (Except after a rainstorm). If you like peace and quiet, it is also nice to be at home on the terrace. There is a large well maintained garden. The lawn (playground) is well kept, There are also in the season many cultural events, music evenings, exhibitions, community meals etc. in Lauzerte and in the immediate vicinity, if you want to go out. We are always willing to inform you of course. Also trips in the beautiful surroundings are very worthwhile! There are several golf courses in the area and in Lauzerte there is a tennis court.
Don't think that it is only beautiful here in the high season! The beauty of the landscape and the tranquillity are certainly not seasonal here. For long walks or exploring the surroundings, it certainly does not have to be 40°C. We ourselves still enjoy the beautiful landscape and we continue to enjoy each season. So also the other seasons, winter, spring and autumn, highly recommended (also because our house is comfortable and well heated if necessary (central floor heating).
To really convince you of all this, there is only one thing to do: book!

Restaurants, food & wine

The house is situated on the border of the Tarn et Garonne, the Lot and the Lot et Garonne, in the region of the Quercy Blanc, with its capital Montcuq. There are many wine routes and domaines with their caves, where you can taste (and buy!) (Cahors, Fronton, Bergerac, Côteaux de Quercy etc.)We live in a region where all kinds of fruit and vegetables are for sale at the farmer or on the nice local markets. A large choice of cheeses, foie gras and other delicacies (strawberries, grapes, apples, kiwis, cherries etc.) We ourselves are real lovers of pure, traditional products, so we can certainly advise you if you are looking for a good restaurant or a nice wine. Everywhere are nice markets and meals organized by the producers, where you can taste all the local dishes, while enjoying a good glass and an excellent ambiance.

Activities

In addition, on our own grounds (90ha), you can go hiking, fishing and, in the hotter season, swimming in clean and clear water in the aforementioned lake. A beautiful natural swimming water, so no chlorine and not in two strokes on the other side. For our guests and the fishermen among you, there is a rowing boat available. Right next to our terrain runs the famous pilgrim route to St. Jacques de Compostella (Spain). It is a nice walk from the Plaine Basse to Lauzerte or further, to Montcuq or Moissac. We also welcome Ebikers here, who can recharge their bikes for free. There are beautiful roads and paths everywhere to enjoy yourself! Furthermore, you can go horseback riding, swimming, play golf (Roucous, l'Espinasse, Auch, etc), tennis, canoeing and many other activities. Famous places around us are; Montcuq (12 km), Moissac ( 20km), Cahors (40 km), Montauban (30 km) and Toulouse (80 km). And then you can also just home to the (Dutch) TV. watch or chat with the family!

Further remarks

In the advertisement it says "swimming pool"; this means our little lake, (to indicate on the site that there is a private swimming facility.) We especially recommend you to take a look in the guestbook, here are experiences of guests; this is the best advertisement And if you are perhaps afraid of the blue algae in natural water; this is completely unknown here and will not be here either!
And if you are afraid of blue algae in natural water, it is completely unknown here and will not be here, in an environment without intensive livestock farming and with organic farming!
As for pet owners; here comes a long story; in principle, we prefer not to have them in the high season (but not excluded). We assume that your pet is house-trained, well brought up and therefore not a door-scratcher, bed-jumper etc., that your pet is not allowed in the bedrooms, that you bring your own bed and that you do not leave your pet alone in the house.
