The house
¨This gîte of 100 m2 is comfortably furnished. Ground floor: living kitchen, easy chairs, TV, patio doors to outdoor terrace. 1st floor: 2 bedrooms with double beds 160 x 200 cm, cot, sun terrace, bathroom with WC and shower. 2nd floor: bedroom with 2 single beds 90 x 200 cm. Magnificent views of unspoilt nature everywhere. Garden furniture and parasol. Barbecue.
Also very suitable for overwintering. Oil-fired central heating, wood-burning stove. Dry wood can be provided.

Mas Brunet is situated on 18 hectares of its own land. Pure nature. From the house there is a walking trail to the village of Trébas and the river Tarn, about 1 km through the woods on foot or by car 3 km. In Trébas you can find a grocery, bakery, butcher, doctor, pharmacy and post office, there are 2 restaurants and a cafe. There is a tourist office in the village. You can also find a beach and you can swim in the river.
Trips in the area : Albi (patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco) and Cordes sur Ciel (Village préféré des Français en 2014), the villages Brousse le Château (one of the most beautiful villages of France) and Ambialet (meander), les Cascades d'Arifat (a waterfall)

Voor ons was het 2weken een klein paradijs, huisje was tiptop in orde met aangename en behulpzame gastheren. Bedankt Peter en Claire Lise voor het leuke verblijf!

Heel goede vakantie gehad op heel erg mooie plek! Geweldige ontvangst en meer dan genoeg ruimte/faciliteiten. Mooie omgeving waar we ons 2 weken goed hebben vermaakt. Minpuntjes waren toch wel dat er na een flinke stortbui gedweild moest worden en er schimmel op de muren van de woonkamer stond, maar dit hebben we gemeld en het zal worden aangepakt. Verder wel erg veel vliegen, maar daar kan uiteraard niemand wat aan doen. Al met al héél goede vakantie!

als je voor stilte/rust gaat, dan is dit DE plek. Peter en Claire Lise zijn vriendelijke hosts en voor vragen/advies/tips kan je bij hun terecht. wij waren er in het voorseizoen (medio mei) en dan zijn er -ook langs de Tarn- nog niet veel activiteiten. dat zal gezien het aantal campings, kano-/fietsverhuurplaatsen anders zijn in het hoogseizoen. wij hielden de borden langs de weg en de aankondigingen bij de plaatselijke mairies in de gaten. daar staan regelmatig lokale activiteiten vermeld. een auto is een must in deze streek. de gite is niet luxe, maar alles wat je nodig hebt, is aanwezig. voor 6 personen (er zijn 6 slaapplaatsen) vinden we hem qua woonruimte te klein. 4 zou max zijn. wij hebben er ondanks het 'frisse' weer voor de tijd van het jaar, een fijne vakantie gehad. steden die een bezoek waard zijn: Albi, Carcassonne, Rodez, Millau, Cordes, Ambialet, St Rome du Tarn. verder is het toeren in de mooie, landelijke omgeving heerlijk. als je van WiFi afhankelijk bent/deze veel gebruikt: die werkt alleen in het hoofdgebouw (en in onze ervaring: niet altijd). Marktjes zijn er, een enkele stad/dorp uitgezonderd, (pas) vanaf juli wekelijks in div plaatsen.
Restaurants, food & wine
In the summer there is a market every Sunday morning with local products: Gaillac wines, organic vegetables, everything the duck has to offer, melons and peaches, etc. There are also many markets in the surrounding villages. A good restaurant can be found 10 km away in Ambialet and within walking distance of the Mas Brunet in the village Trébas (L'Oustal).
Once a week we provide a table d'hôte on request.
Activities
The valley of the Tarn is a piece of unspoilt nature where you can take beautiful walks or cycle along the river. There are beautiful villages with medieval castles such as Brousse le Château and Coupiac, Albi, its famous cathedral and the musée Toulouse Lautrec is half an hour away . Albi is Patrimoine Mondial de l'Unesco since July 2010, well worth a visit.
