The house
Welcome to our Gite Bruen, a spacious and attractively decorated gite with private terrace. From the terrace you have a breathtaking view of kilometers over the mountains and valleys of the Ardeche. The gite has a living room with a fully equipped kitchen of 28m2, a bedroom of 12 m2 with double bed, private bathroom and separate WC in the hallway.
The gite is built against a mountain side in the southern Ardèche, near Vals-les-Bains, quartier du Brunette and offers a wonderful view of the mountains and the valley, through which the rivers Ardèche, Volane and Fontolière run. Gite Bruen is located in a wonderful natural area with several walking paths, of which some start right outside the gites. There are many pretty spots along the river where you can swim.
It is a beautiful and quiet location, in the middle of nature but not too secluded. From our house it is only 10 minutes to Vals-les-Bains where you find a butcher's, baker's, supermarket and terraces. So you don't have to drive in to town. Lively Vals has a picturesque centre with narrow streets and there is always plenty to do, especially in summer months (every Thursday and Sunday morning market, music, fireworks and much more). There is a fine swimming pool with natural water and a modern cinema. The range of cafes and restaurants (17) is large. Vals-les-Bains is known for its Spa and the healthy, pure spring water. In our gite you shower in mineral water!
Staying in this holiday home is enjoying a fantastic place with an unforgettable view! It is an ideal destination for guests who seek sun, peace and nature. No disturbing noises. The only thing you hear is the occasional sheep and lively hirondelles (swallows). With 300 sunny days per year and a Mediterranean climate it is a lovely, welcoming holiday home from April to late October to enjoy in peace and quiet.

Gite Bruen is located in the southern Ardèche, a department in the south-east of France, in the town of Vals-les-Bains, quarter du Bruentet. From the terrace you can see Mont Ventoux in the distance which is 123 km away.
The southern Ardeche is one of the greenest and most rural parts of France. The landscape is very diverse; There are many chestnut and fruit orchards, vineyards, quiet rural roads, oak and pine forests and rivers. The area has many natural wonders to be admired; Ray-Pic waterfall, Mon Gerbier de Jonc, the Pont d'Arc, Chier the Borée, le Pont du Diable and the beautiful Gorges de l'Ardeche. Also worth seeing are the caves L'Aven d'Orgnac and Grotte de la Madeleine.

We hebben een fantastische week gehad eind november 2023 in de gite Bruen. Ook nu troffen we het nog met het weer.
Keurige en schone, ruime gite met een prachtig uitzicht! De gastheer en vrouw zijn zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
We kregen tips over wandelingen in de buurt, activiteiten en niet te vergeten de tips waar we heerlijk konden lunchen en dineren!
Bij gite Bruen is het uitzicht is prachtig en 1 met de natuur en heb je met je eigen terras veel pravicy.

Deze week is om-gevlogen. Maar dat kan ook niet anders als alles klopt. Een hartelijke ontvangst, het samen eten bij aankomst, de gezellige gesprekken, de gite waar zoveel sfeer vanuit gaat. De rust, het uitzicht…..een week om met veel dankbaarheid op terug te kijken en in ons hart mee te nemen. We wensen jullie nog veeeelen mooie jaren toe en wat ons betreft komen we weer terug! Un lieu parfait pour se ressourcer, avec un super vue des montagnes et un grand calme. Nous avons eu le meilleur accueil de n Dominique et Anneke qui nous ont tout bien expliqué, le fct de la maison et les activités à faire. Hôtes très charmants et attentionnés. La maison est parfaite . Il y a tout ce qu'il faut. Tout est propre et bien aménagé. En bonus de très bons livres de lecture pour bien profiter allongé à la terrasse. Nous y penserons à eux si nous retournons dans la région :)

Vals-les-Bains has about 17 restaurants where you can lunch and dine both inside and outside. There are also many lively terraces.
In the last few years the Ardèche has positively developed itself as a wine region. On various vineyards and chateaux you can taste the local wines: Tavel, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Châteauneuf du Pape, Côtes du Rhône, Viognier.
Activities
The area is very suitable for walking, swimming, fishing, mountain biking or cycling. There are also possibilities for more adventurous activities such as canoeing, climbing or canyoning.

Further remarks
The gite is located in our holiday home Les Veinards, which has two more holiday apartments: 'l Hirondelle' for two people and la Volane for two -five people. These gites have their own ad pages on this website. On the large southern facing terrace is a Bistro (Cave) where you can cook together - upon request- and where you can have a drink or play a game and listen to music. There is a washing machine and dryer which you can use.
* In low season it is also possible to rent the entire house and cook together in the bistro. There is a room for 9/12 people. You can also stay with us for a longer period, because we are open all year round. Contact us for more information.

Deposit: 100 euros to be paid on arrival
Bed-, bath- and kitchen linen (mandatory) : 9.50 euros per person per week
Cleaning costs (mandatory): 50 euros
Wifi : 12 euros per week regardless number of guests.

Tourist tax: 1,10 euros per person, per day
